For real. I think sometimes it's good to be a little cocky, especially against bullshitters. Which is why I have respect for him. There was no bigger or more vocal supporter of McGregor than me going into this fight.
McG done great within his limitations & he done it Irish Style, he put his neck on the chopping block n made shit happen.
But lets not pretend it was something that it wasnt n belittle his accomplishment.
The little nod after he defends the last takedown attempt then finishing him was brutal 😳
This run was amazing! He really did something special, and it’s probably the reason so many fans want to see him, to see if he could reclaim that greatness. It’s too bad he’s become such a babiade.
He did eat a lot of shots in that fight. It’s not a shocker that when he fights bigger guys, his chin can’t handle it as it do here. But you also can’t keep getting hit on the chin. Poirier bits a lot harder than Chad did.
2 vs one in that ring, ufc refs made connors career hes always given chance to recover but when its the other way round the fight is ended
@@samkay-od5jc Yeah, terrible stoppage with the round almost over and Chad still defending intelligently.
@@samkay-od5jc it did suck for chad being that close to a round ending but he was out of gas and in foggy and very likely could've taken a lot more dangerous head damage in the next round if they had let it continue
Chad kept taking conor down trying to gas him out and ended up gassing himself...conor noticed this which is why he attacked the body before the TKO. He was a special talent when he was hungry
Mendes took that fight on only 5 days notice I think.
It was a miracle he could even make weight let alone beat the shit outa McGregor for 1.5 rds like he did until he gassed.
@SPIDERM0OSE he didn't beat anything out of him, he out wrestled him. He didn't have much to offer on the feet and he got more desperate for the takedown as the fight went on
one of my favorite fighters. 👏 Congratulations Conor 💪
That style was beautiful man. The shots just flow he made it look effortless
Damn I thought I missed something with that title 😂😂
Same here 🤣
One of the main reasons people tuned in was because he was sharp during this run, not only a sharp toungue but also his technical standup was oozing with confidence backed by a sold out crowd all rooting for him. Then the bitter taste of monetary success slowly took a toll on him. That and because Khabib had the perfect style shut down 90% of his tools by smothering him with not only takedowns, but just the mere threat of ONE takedown. Khabib does not let go so that must have been deep in his mind, he smothered his confidence as well and that's all I can say about that. Alcohol in every part of his outside life (a business as well as drinking his business) ruined that sharp Conor I used to look forward to tuning into. Atleast he can milk the sharp toungue til even that ability whithers away. I hope he tunes it down with the alcohol in every aspect of his life now or stop comlpetely. Being sober sharpens that mind and allows you to train to your potential. 🙏😑 -Jiga Chandler
The BEST Left hand in the Business !
If he over reached any more with it he woulda fell flat on his face.

4:16 Gets a lot less attention because of the Aldo ko, but man is it beautiful. Mcgregors eyes are sharp and focused completely on the target. The extention he gets, and the way he plants his feet after connection is great, like he knew Chad was going to drop from it.
So is this a hint that McGregor vs Chandler fight announcement is coming soon?
What an era that was 🎉
The Connor that beat Alverez was the Connor that schools Khabib....as good as Khabib clearly is, he beat a shadow of this Connor, he beat a complete husk of this Connor....in his prime, hungry, fluent, devastating, he was unstoppable in many respects. Yes Diaz chocked him out, but that was Connor going UP a division, outside of his comfort zone, yet remarkably, pulling off the rematch victory in an amazing fight. Prime Connor was a force of Nature, ruined by money, and the good life.
Nothing short of greatness. Conor broke Mendez mentally way before he beat him.
Mendes beat the shit outa him for 1.5 rds & he done that on 5 days? notice.
Mendes on a full camp woulda absolutely obliterated him.
Nah he broke Aldo before beating him, with Mendes he had to fight his way to victory, that’s why imo this is Conor’s ultimate performance cos it shows the dog in him

It shows the puppy in him, coz thats all he has.
McG is & always was a 10 min fighter, he cant hang with the Big Dogs, his career & his results tell no lies.
Mendes with no camp The luckiest punch ever thrown vs Aldo.
Mentally he broke Porier before their fight but mentally Porier was broken by every opponent before his fights at that stage in his career, he fought off emotion.
McGregor is the epitome of "Right Time, Right Place" & "Smoke em while you got em"

No matter what anyone ever says. If it wasn't for the hype that this man created, for all those crazy victories, I would have never even batted an eye over this sport. This sport or even boxing had nothing that exciting going on.
Now after all these years, turning into someone who loves and appreciates the sport and then becoming a student of the sport.
Can't thank this man enough, for showing me a path that gives me nothing but happiness and peace.
You probably wasn't old enough or didn't care, but in 2005, two guys named Forrest Griffin and Stephen Bonnar RIP put MMA/UFC on the map and mainstream. Connor just brought in a new wave of casuals like yourself. The guy has been a market draw because of his mouth and flash. Never defended a belt and hasn't won a fight in over 3 years. But some how sucks more casuals in every year. Chandler is gonna smash your boy.
Conor is a like a loud mouthed, shooting star of a Fedor, but that’s what drew in all these young trolls, set them on a better path. They were just as humbled by Khabib as Conor was, & look at the maturity of this young man.
From an internet troll, to a young man who goes to the gym & cares about his body. Good for you.
This was connor in his prime, when he was obsessed with giving his family all the riches in the world and gaining the belt. We all want this connor back, but he may be gone forever.
When he wanted win really badly. Ever since he got rich, he lost all his will to win.
