Thank you to Rexpeed for sending out some very fancy parts. I have wanted to get a steering wheel for a while but wasnt sure if I had the skills to install it. Seemed to be much easier than I expected. The fog bezels also look amazing with the turn signal. Overall the car is really coming together. I want to get just a few more parts for the interior and I think itll be in a decent spot for my first Subiefest.

Coming from a tech. You should have the steering wheel dead center and mark it down with a sharpie. Draw a centered line across (steering shaft and locking nut) this way you’d know the reverse installation is spot on and won’t end up with a crooked steering wheel, and would avoid triple work readjusting. Then Torque to specs. Btw- came across your channel (google search) looking for a new steering wheels. Keep it up

Lol man I try so hard to be gentle 🤣. The steering wheel feels incredible. Of course there are different material choices but it just being thicker and more formal fitting to the hand makes it a must have.

Dude. You got BIG ASS BALLS with the steering wheel upgrade. The only caveat is the re-mount and making sure the disc plate doesnt move. Not sure what Subaru will say about warranty if you need service. All good though❤

That's awesome! I considered having the red sticking. Now I kind of wish I went with the red center line to contrast but it still looks good. I love the feel of it most of all.

I am wondering if need to add a fuse to prevent the LED from blowing up....
The fuse is actually supposed to go under the dash in the connector area. I ended up just wirsjf it together without a fuse. I would like to go back and eventually add it but not sure what value I would add.
You're wrx looks amazing. I have a white one as well, but mine is base model, still stock but I will definitely be modifying and tuning. Great job

Im a huge fan of your videos but i wanted some advice. I purchased the same steering wheel from the link you purchased and I can’t seem to align the steering wheel. I was wondering how you were able to align it
What do you mean by aligning ? I just put the steering back the same way I took it off..as in the same position. It has the metal splines so I made sure the steering wheel was straight (visually). This way all I had to do was put the steering wheel back on straight. I know it sounds simple but that's all I did.

The suede is great! No fiber transfer. However my white center line is already dirty but I think it's because I got some oil on it.
Get a grill crossbrace in body color matched paint. It looks sick peaking from the grill.
Sadly I got one but it didn't fit with the fmic. Gonna have to find something else to put there. I'm looking for a white skull to tie to the front. Now that it's Halloween I'll be able to find one 🤣

@@gaivoron I did see someone made a bar that fits with FMICs but I had bought the basic one. I actually did a giveaway and gave the one I bought to a subscriber.
I had to add screws to the back of the drls to hold onto the bumper. Bezel will fall out of place while driving. Gete annoying. Hasnt happened since
Very interesting. I'll keep an eye on the movement. So far I havent seen anything funky yet but I will have to take my bumper off at least once more.

Chances are these are the same piece from the same factory.
For some reason i always thought removing a steering wheel would have been more difficult than that. Those fog light bezels look SOO clean by the way ..I know its been awhile Awais but how has the steering wheel held up ? Im not familiar enough with suede but it looks really nice and fits the cars better and Ive noticed when driving fast through the mountains the steering wheel is too small of a grip for my hands. Definitely agree on your assessment of these parts being a must for driver feel and aesthetics.
Yea dude the steering wheel itself is fantastic. The little white marker on it tho , different story haha. I touched it with oily hands one day and it's been yellow since. I gotta get some cleaner for it. The rest of the steering is spotless and still feels great. One of my favorite mods, tbh.
He'll yeah, I'm wondering also when my silvers finally come in, did you have the dampers set different from front to back..like some people run the silvers at 8 damping front and 10 back..DO you suggest something like that or just even setting at both front and back?
@@beaches2mountains230 I tried testing a bunch of different settings during autocross and track. I did like the rear being a bit stiffer. I want the nose to drop a bit during braking so we get a better grip. However I am no expert and just go based on how it feels haha.
did you fix the gap between the bezel and the rest of the bumper? if so, how?
Couldn't. I tried for a good half hour. And it just wouldn't click that last clip on the back. Maybe it's something I did? It's not an OEM piece from Subaru so 🤷♂️. But it is $200 cheaper so I don't mind it.
How did the fog light I

Oh yea. I was just being dumb. The main fog light plug was still unplugged 🤣🤣

Rexpeed let me customize the steering. I picked all the individual options. They do have a custom steering wheel where you can pick all of the parts yourself.

@@HeavyMetalWRX well that’s me too, I’m scared to take my bumper off. Plus I don’t have fog lights so I wouldn’t know where to start getting those. Plus I’m staying stock for awhile for the warranty but I’m super jealous of the tune. I really like that led/blinker though

Did you figure out a way to get rid of the gap?
I actually ended up getting some self tapping screws. I actually have been waiting to do the install because of the weather I planned on doing it this week actually, funny that you ask 😂. There's no way to get rid of the gap because they just don't fit.
Dang…my bumper is off, sitting with those gaps. I’m in STL area too, and did the install this afternoon. Do you think the self tappers will work?
@@donaldsmith8657 that's what I'm gonna find out. I know IIR did something similar but added some plastic brackets maybe? I need to research what they did but I think adding good tappers with some loctite might be the easiest method.

I noticed today (after I put the bumper on of course) that where the bezels touch the bumper cladding, there is an extra ridge on the bezel. I think that is what is causing the gap. I wonder if the inside where it touches the cladding can be sanded?

Wiring up the turn signal is gonna run the risk of you not being able to fully remove the bumper off the car
Yeah that's what I said in the video. I said I was going to get some spade connectors and put them in line so that I can unhook the turn signal wires in the future.
