Brand New Match Types In WWE 2K24!

- WWE 2K24 features several new match types, including the long awaited return of fan favourite Special Guest Referee!
In this video we'll take a look at all of the new and returning match types, including the Casket match, Ambulance Match, Gauntlet Match and Special Guest Referee.
☆☆☆ Special Guest Referee Details ☆☆☆
The returning special guest referee mode builds on the original and offers up several new features and improvements, including the ability to wear a referee shirt and switch between referee mode and superstar mode.
Returning features include the ability to control the speed of counts, allowing for fast counts and slow counts, check on submissions and call for a screwjob finish!
☆☆☆ Casket Match Details ☆☆☆
The new version of the casket match sees the casket placed at ringside, with the aim of the match being to dump your opponent into the casket and close the lid. This can be achieved by throwing opponents into the casket over the top rope, or from ringside.
Closing the lid begins a closure mini-game similar to the submission system, where you'll have to quickly press the button shown to close the casket and win the match.
☆☆☆ Ambulance Match Details ☆☆☆
Making it's debut in the series we have the brand new addition of the Ambulance match, which sees players tasked with throwing thier opponent into the back of the ambulance and closing the doors.
Like the Casket match, this match type also uses the same mini-game as submissions, though players will have to complete this twice, one for each door.
☆☆☆ Gauntlet Match Details ☆☆☆
The Gauntlet match returns with 3 different match variations, including a traditional gauntlet match where you can take control of the next participant if you lose, an eliminator gauntlet that mirrors the Royal Rumble match with up to 8 players in the ring at the same time, and a gauntlet turmoil match where you'll face all opponents until you're defeated.
Gauntlet matches include the option to face off against 4-30 players.

The Gauntlet Match is epic, especially the other Gauntlet options (I think they are called Turmoil and Elimination???). So like a 30-man Royal Rumble, but with pins/submissions. This is awesome!
The best part is that it can be a title match as well

I want to try the turmoil one with 30 people and see how far I can go without losing and the match ending
I absolutely can’t wait to play Special Guest Referee and Casket Match because those two were my absolute favorites to play in the old games 🔥
I hope for 2k25 we can have special guest referee matches for all matches. Not just 1 on 1. It would be fun to referee a 3 on 3 elimination tag team match. Triple screw job. Hiac or cage matches would be fun too. Fight Pit and Iron Survivor Match would be fun additions for 2k25 as well.

@MusicAddict9228 old consoles is ps3 and Xbox 360. You mean last gen which is ps4 and xbone. They haven't released a game on ps3/Xbox 360 in probably 10 years now. 2k24 will likely be the last year for ps4 and xbone
For 2k24 I hope we can custom a special guest referee match. I always turn DQs off. So I just want the cpu to use weapons it would be funny if you could DQ someone with them turned off. Lol

They could add exclusive matches to ps5 and series x and s. That would probably up the sales for those systems.
the casket match is what I’m looking forward too.
1) This will be the best WWE 2K Game ever, it looks like! I hope it becomes as timeless as WWE 2K14.
2) Fun fact, the Ambulance Match was last used in Smackdown vs Raw 2010. Yes… it was in the game - The Nintendo DS Version of the game exclusively had that match.
Only match I would like added is a British Rules match (heritage cup match)

I’m hyped for the gauntlet matches personally. I’ve tried so many times to book something similar in Universe mode for number one contender matches, but damage doesn’t carry over. It’s something WWE themselves usually seem to do very well, so I wanted to be able to recreate it, and now it can properly be done.
I’ve been wanting 30 person gauntlet match for so many years like the WCW/nWo Revenge days for N64. But this is like that on steroids. Would love to see the NXT Iron Survivor match next year. Enjoy the concept of that match.
3 stages of hell and I Quit as well would have made the game perfect off the bat.

For me, it would be special guest referee. This was the match type I wanted back the most out of any other one. That includes casket & gauntlet matches. I wanna play the other ones too & I’m so happy to have these matches in both Universe & MyGM.

I'm.. skeptical of the Ambulance match. It might seem small but I don't like that the mini-game is the only way to win or that it's the same animation every time. It's supposed to be a feud ender -the type of match where you pull out all the stops to incapacitate your opponent. There's no tombstone-ing a guy on the floor and tossing their limp body in the ambulance or AA'ing a guy through the roof..Seems like I could beat someone half to death and they'll be up on their knees tugging of war with you like nothing happened. it also doesn't help that it's always gonna come down to how good you are at button mashing regardless.
Hey I got a question for wwe 2k24 it’s about us setting a superstars attire to something else instead of their default attire like how Cody wore a different attire for the wrestlemaina match against Roman in the showcase match were getting for that match as an unlockable attire for Cody so we can just use that for exhibition matches cause I know if you set a different attire for a superstar like you could for Cena in the edit superstars menu in last years game I would set a different attire but then his default attire but when I select him it makes where his default attire is automatically selected instead of the one I made default in the edit superstars menu where you mainly set thier attire instead of have their default attire being assigned to them cause I want it to be in the game like it was in 2k19 can you ask the devs about it please

For Double title match is it still the same or did they add to it were you don't just have to do it with were you separate the titles but also can have one person hold both and they can defend both

Please tell me we can change the button mashing mini game to hold the buttons for the new match types because I have a disability and I need to know
In the future we should get special victories for some of these matches. Like HBK dancing on the casket like he did In triple H’s match against Kane. Undertaker could do his kneel and Kane could do his magic fire on the casket. Maybe Kane could even make the casket catch on fire.
I hate how they remove features and match types, bring them back years later and call them "new additions"
I’m designating the casket match for supernatural gimmick superstars like Taker, Kane, Fiend, Boogie Man, Demon Balor. Uncle Howdy, etc. I’ll use them as bosses of that match 👍🏼👍🏼🔥🔥

I am most excited for the guest ref match, and I think my first one is going to be Chiampa vs Gargano with Candice LeRea as the Ref since I have been wanting to play out a story of Johnny getting screwed by his wife for years.
Shame you can't be both in the casket and fight. That would be a nice extra touch.
The Ambulance Match isn't new. It was in a DS edition of one of the Smackdown vs Raw series games

I would like to see a scaffold match (old nwa match type) but they haven't done it on wwe TV so not going to happen. Also wish the would do war games with top on the cage like the original war games in wcw. Bring back the "big blue" cage like at wrestlemania 2. Dog collar match. Bring back buried alive match. Loser leaves town match. Dusty rhodes tag team classic. These are a few I would like to see.

Seems like only the start to expanding match types, the ones I’d like to see added in the future would be inferno and I quit, no complains for 2k24 seems like they’re only gonna get better from here

The location of the ambulance is inaccurate.
In a real match match, the ambulance is parked near the titantron rather than near the ring.

The only thing that bothers me is they made casket match and ambulance match button mash mode basically, they should of made the minigame more interesting even skill checks would of been better everything spam spam spam button mash button mash button mash even on submissions this button mash thing needs to go already get creative 2K controllers don't grow on trees lmao
I usually love your videos but this video does not do Gauntlet match justice. I see why 2K brand it as four new matches, but it is actually seven. Each Gauntlet match works fundamentally different.

It was basically a buried alive match with the Casket at the entryway on top of a mound of dirt if I remember rightly
