Art Tatum runs Jazz Lesson: • Art Tatum runs Jazz Le... - Hudba
This technique and the runs are presented in a very clear way. Of course it is still a challenge to master the runs shown here, but this teacher shows how to begin (very slowly) and what exactly to practice to get results. I am impressed with these instructions!
WOW - this is so interesting. I am a jazz vocalist, but this is very helpful to understand the roots of jazz styles and forms. You are a very good teacher!!!!
This deserves way more likes and way more views!
Thank you for these lessons!
I'm so glad I've found your channel! This is great stuff and it's a pleasure to watch.
Thanks a lot, Андрей! Glad you like it.
great lesson as always!
can't wait for you to post the next one
Very helpful, thanks. Keep posting.
Thanks! Will do ;)
how do you get Midi data from an acoustic piano. Just really curious to how you do that in your videos
didnt think i had small hands till i tried doing tenths ;]
Great Demo Im envious mad skills!!!
Excellent video!
thanks for sharing those runs ..liked and subscribed
wonderful
Brilliant video! May I ask what video program you are using? I'm a teacher and could really use this! Thanks for the great tutorial!
Jeez he's playing tenths with his 1 and 4
Yes, can't reach it with the pinky - so in stead of playing octaves or "jumping", I figured that it is just as good using the 4th finger.
In your left hand, try this voicing for major, minor, or dominant 7th chords - 3,7,9 or 7,3,13 - (minor - 7,9,3,5) - :)
Thanks for your tip!
It is the correct voicing for left hand jazz playing . Practice I VI ii V (Fmaj7, D7,Gm7,C7) in all keys with this voicing. Happy to help. Pass it along. It is good to help someone for free.
that's for combo playing.Base will play the root and of course that doubling is not needed(although sometimes actually it might prove usefull for certain moments to do it). What you are proudly presenting us is beginners level of knowledge. This video (seems you did not notice ) it's about solo piano playing.@robviolin.The guy was nice to you and somehow sarcastic.Do you really think he doesn't know the a,b ,c?:-)))))
Wonderful lesson. However, the exercise link is not secure. Please fix.
Awesome lessons, thanks. Is there a reason you play your left hand 10ths with the 4th finger on the bottom? I can only reach the 10th with the 5th finger on the bottom, the 4th seems like a real stretch but cool if you can reach that so easily.
Yes. To me it is only possible to reach the 10ths with my 4th finger. Suggestion: Use what works for you.
wow... ne sai
Does the Dflat run work in other keys
mike whelan i think yes
Well obviously
4:20
mike whelan the weed number
What is the run at 6:27 ? I can;t catch it.
Hi, Kenny. It's C# melodic minor run that you can use over a C7 chord.
The notes:
Eb-Db-C-Bb-Ab-E-Eb...etc
PopJazzOnline.com - Piano Courses Online ahh i see. I've been trying to find out that run because it is so common in jazz ballad. Thank you.
What does it mean stride pianist?
What's the song at 1:15?
Tea for two
and art always played drunk.... insane
A small asian with small hands like me won't be able to play tenth.
