    Initial raisers range on the QJ hand should have you crushed a lot of the time. A raise is likely isolating him but you may get 4 bet at which point you would fold.
    I like calling there, and 9QJ is a dream flop. Biggest mistake as you insinuate in the video is not raising the flop although due to stack sizes you’re probably getting called by one of those players holding a T for sure. Too Tx and Kx and clubs out there to charge

    • @MartyPoker
      @MartyPoker  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks for the input! Yeah, a 4 bet at that table would be Aces like 99% of the time...

    A pro grinder can make 10 Big bets an hour after rake. That would be $30/hour in 1/3. Perhaps 5% of the player population can achieve this result. Anything more is a pipe dream. It is also a pipe dream for a rec player to think he can even make 10 big blinds per hour.

    QJ yea raise or fold on Button, calling is bad. The flop call to me is fine and rest of the hand played itself. Also quit talking so much about luck, you played some hands well and other guys didn’t, that’s not luck. Overall good Vlog, good stuff.

  • @rgore55
    @rgore55 Před 3 měsíci

    +500 session: It was a great limpy limpy table, it’s so much fun to play with guys who call so much preflop etc…
    -500 session: These stupid fucking donks never fold, you should see the shit they call with…
    1) Don’t play mental gymnastics about “I buyin short but when I win I get a full stack at a discount, etc.” It’s just fear of losing money when you first sit. You will lose money, it’s poker. Accept that. Buyin full and reload if needed. If you doubled up the first hand you played you would have had $520, buyin full and you have $600…
    2) just like your last vlog you don’t raise enough pre. Out of position you want to raise 4x + the limpers. With 10Js in the SB I’d make it $15 with one limper, $20 with 2 limpers… in these super passive games you make a lot of money taking the pot down preflop. $11 would never have gotten anyone to fold. You may think that’s fine because 10Js plays well multi-way but AA does not play well multi-way and you don’t want to be raising small with your speculative hands and large with your big hands. You may have to experiment a bit to find out what the sizing threshold is for getting players to fold pre…
    3) fold QJo pre on the button. You’re behind EP’s opening range, QJo doesn’t play well multi-way, you make shitty top pair hands that that will get in trouble on later streets even in position.
    You have difficulty explaining the action in your vlogs which makes things confusing. You say “early position makes it $10 and of course there’s 5 of us” then later you say he raised to $7 and there was $35 in the pot. You don’t mention stack sizes which is so so so important because a lot of your decisions will be based on SPR (stack to pot ratio). If you don’t know what that means look it up and get really familiar with it. You need to know how to size your bets so you can efficiently get the money all in by the river. You definitely want to be raising this flop as your SPR vs the in-between short stacks is like .5 and 1 and because you block top and middle set, and K10s is such a small part of EPs opening range you want to pile money in vs his over pairs and AK, AQ, KQ with a club. If you’re not crazy deep shoving might look like a draw to EP and getting called by AA/KK is printing.
    Another example of you confusing the action in a hand is when you have KK. You say he led into you on the flop and conclude the hand by saying you won a nice $250 pot by checking and calling all the way down. He can’t lead into you on the flop while you simultaneously check and call a bet.
    The best way to get help and improve through your vlog is to:
    A) relay table images of players involved in the hand including yourself. Is the player tight, tilted, drunk, crazy aggro, passive etc.
    B) know the positions of the players who are involved. Including your position.
    C) know the stack sizes of players involved. Effective stack vs main villain(s) is important.
    D) mention any reads you may have (he can’t fold any top pair, she chases draws getting poor odds, etc
    E) say what the raise size is
    F) have an accurate total of the pot preflop, flop, turn and river.
    You will get much better feedback from experienced players…
