An intimate documentary as stylish and unconventional as its subject, Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami alternates between the public and private spheres of the pop-culture mega-icon of the title. Contrasting thrilling musical sequences with intimate personal footage, director Sophie Fiennes (The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema) follows Jones to her Jamaican hometown, into the studio with longtime collaborators Sly & Robbie, and on the various stages of her sexually charged, cutting-edge live shows-featuring performances of “Slave to the Rhythm,” “Pull Up to the Bumper,” and “Love Is the Drug.” A Kino Lorber release.

Damn! I just love Grace Jones. She's one of those few stars with a "coolness" factor that works across eras.
I recently search for Grace Jones to see where she was at. 70 years old and looking marvelous.
A big and sincere laughing, a great style, a dark and smooth skin, an incomparable talent, and the eyes that can make you feel very small, that's a few of the multiple talents of this gorgeous woman. Sooooo big!!!!

Such a good documentary
Loved it. Just wanted more. Less musical numbers which seem to be added last cause she looked older in them than in the live footage in her country . They should have added the years of the scenes. Like the dinner scene in the beginning I didn't realize that the man sitting on the head of the table was Grace's father. I thought it was her brother Max. Her father passed away in 2008 so that scene has to be in the early 2000s. Would have liked to see more of Chris Grace's kind gay brother who passed away recently they only showed shadows of him and his voice a few times. My favorite part is with Mrs Myrtle..Grace's sister Pat Jones is spunky ..like I said would have loved to see more of them in the old house talking and more of Chris and Mrs Myrtle and less of the concert footage in which Grace has a ton online to view. Hopefully they release a new 📀 with cutting floor footage it's fascinating stuff.
I love the film. I wish it had a bit more narration. Would have loved to known some of the locations

Just saw her incredibly "live" in concert in Detroit, check her touring schedule, last I checked she has several concerts coming up in Europe.

Again, its the second interview i see with grace jones about this film and she seems to be drinking and her thoughts all over the place,shes an intelligent woman i dont know why she always feel the need to make herself seem rather fluffy in the head
