My friends at Mancuso Motor Sports found a 2015 Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe sitting at an auction lot. The car had an original MSRP Of $250,000 and it was modified by RennTech. They claim this car has about 670 horsepower and 840 lb-ft of torque so I drove this monster to the dyno for some testing. While we were there we tuned my 2003 E55 AMG for the most power it's ever made! This was an epic dyno battle between a big money Twin Turbo V12 Renntech S65 and a cheap, DIY budget E55 AMG. The S65 is also straight piped and my E55 just had C63 AMG muffler installed so turn the volume up on this one.

Call me crazy, but I think the S63/65 coupe is one of the best looking modern cars money can buy, especially from behind. Exotics are attention grabbing but this is so much more subtle.

E55 sounds [is] simply wicked... great exhaust... I love the S class coupes, as much as any MB body design. As a 09 W209 owner / driver... the E55 work and videos presses my interest in that chassis... but I do (always have) love(d) the W209 swept / sculpted pillar-less roof / body lines... liking the performance attributes of the E55 / 113K engine and drive train... mine to, people gave samcrac a tough time on using stop leak on one of his previous videos but you know what I have an older 2005 civic I use for business and it's a salvage title it's not worth doing all the work as a lot of these honda engines of this era were chronic to popping head gaskets and having leaks and cracks and pin holes! Anyways, alumiseal aluminized stop leak has kept mine going for 2 years relentless driving ! ! I add some every once in a while and circulate back to the radiator from the reservoir with a hand pump. The repair is worth more than the car so if it saved me money which it did and does and I keep using it haha
@@moonshinefuel thing with Samcrac is that he's not that knowledgeable and while that's totally okay given he's honest about it and shows you anyone with the time can get into such projects, he doesn't take constructive criticism well and expressed his annoyance towards some viewers' feedback, even if they're proven right later on.

Two of the most notable examples of that are the Ferrari everyone warned it would be a PITA and while being entertaining to watch for that exact reason, it was a massive overtaking; and his budget Jag everyone said the color choice he wanted was a bad idea only for him to complain and do it anyways, to then make a huge promo stunt of him auctioning it, in the end barely mentioning it given it was a huge flop he only lost money on.

It sounds like Chicago has a serious car culture, and state laws allow modifications that are outlawed here in California where I live. Out here, you aren't permitted to modify the fuel or exhaust systems, and they are checked when a car gets "smog tested" every 2 years. Plus, people can earn the kind of money it takes to sustain the amount of depreciation Alex was talking about. Its nice to see, even if we can't take part. And of course, Alex's enthusiasm give it a ton of energy that is pretty engaging.

Have you thought of getting a chiller system for the intercooler? I believe killer chiller is the only option for the e55, but it should help keep iats more consistently low

I fitted c63 mufflers to my e55 only issue was they stuck out a bit too much but sounded great

Love my S65 W221 wanted a W222 coupe just know the depreciation is massive. like my S65 W221 is 07 sticker was just over 200k new got it used for 80k CPO and now is worth 25-30k.
Sucks tho most the W222 coups or sedans that came in the country didn't have many options and a bunch that people ordered with options have been keeping them looks like given don't see many with options selling. Like this one showing doest have ceramic brakes but has the cooler in the back.

I've done my 91 Corrado G60 on a Dynojet and a Mustang Dynojet and had nearly identical graphs. Was establishing two different baseline Dyno runs
One was at Carb Connection in Kirkland Wa. And Horsepower Ranch.
@@midnight-xpress1136 just know that some dynos have a ‘crank hp mode’ that will add +15% or so to the numbers. inflates the numbers to make the customer happy

I have a 2014 E class coupe, it's a 2.1 CDI so not the quickest of the line, but it's so comfortable to drive and I do look forward to every trip. Now seeing how nice the S class coupe is I might have to save and get 1, although lots of research to be done 1s.

Been there done that 4.0l TT Audi situation. Luckily a few aftermarket places make RS7 turbo replacements for a good price. A lot of people are running without the screen. Also they have updated the screen as well and pvc valve he was talking about. That’s also covered by Audi. Yeah you’re looking at $10,000 if you don’t have a warranty, and go with oem stock turbos.
Came here for the Merc. And around 20 minutes in spots a 74ish Plymouth Trailduster..... Awesome.

The way you described the acceleration is exactly why I sold my 2009 CL65. It’s an amazing car to drive and stunning look wise. Better looking than a lot of the new cars. They are timeless. However the acceleration is so Mercedes. Smooth and not aggressive. Some people may like that, but I like my accelerations brutal and violent. More like the BMW M6 does. So that’s the reason I sold mine. It’s for older people in my opinion who want to eat a black caviar on toast while doing 180 mph.

@@zxggwrt I wouldn't be surprised. Remember they're finding heavily modified toys at this auction(s). Remember the highly modified RS7 was "found" at the auction. The highly modified E class with the supercharger was "found" at the auction. Now this highly modified S65 was "found" at the auction. Two of those vehicles went to the same dealer for sale. The S65 is a rare vehicle. I think they're maybe only 13 for sale nationwide. I would think a dealer with a bankroll would have it in inventory knowing the value in the vehicle would stabilize.

I did a service recently on a 222 pre-facelift s65 amg sedan and it was such a beast, that motor is so smooth and the torque is amazing. Where other cars have to downshift to accelerate, the v12 just pulls no matter what rpm its at. It really is a shame that the v12 is finally discontinued.

When I was growing up in high school, my best friends dad had a sl600 Renntech that had everything they could put on it and 20” HRE’s. It had exhaust, Downpipes, whole carbon fiber engine bay with the cf intake, tune and had the stock turbos upgraded. I'm sure I'm missing something. They were EXTREMELY well off (step dad owned 4 Harley Dealerships). The dad was cool I used to talk to him, I remember he told me he bought everything that Renntech had to offer and a custom tune for everything.
Honestly that car was something that made me like cars that much more than I already did. I really liked JDM cars I ended up buying a 350z for my first car, but that car is what started my true love for Mercedes; and I own a C63 now 😆
The best way I could describe how it felt when you floored it was that it felt like an a airplane taking off, it was so fucking fast, like ridiculous fast
Oh and I remember seeing the dyno printout and this thing had over 1000 tq at the rear LMFAOOOO that thing was insane and I'm glad this video reminded me of it
