Fully Built LS VTEC First Start! | Honda Civic EG Hatch

- Today Is finally the first start for the fully built LS VTEC motor 1993 Honda Civic EG Hatch. You guys have literally been waiting over a year for this moment and I hope you guys love the video. This motor is sporting some Manley rods, CP forged pistons, CSS (Cylinder Support System), and a built B16 head with GSR cam shafts. In today’s video our goal is purely to get the motor in the car, start the car and then put it back on the ground. I can’t wait for you guys to hear this beast running open header. It sounds so sick.
Lastly, I’m running some stock injectors and no turbo to make shure that this new fully built LS VTEC engine is running reliably and having a smooth break in process. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions. If the build list isnt in this description Already, I will be adding it shortly.

Honestly the longer I've been in this game the more you realize a lot of stuff is just superstition. like break in's i used to take weeks to break them in "correctly" but to be honest many times I just slap em together and send it straight to the dyno after the first oil change and driving around the block ect.
fuck break in, top fuel racers don’t do it, straight to the beams after being built…

Hey John a little tip for when your pulling your motor out and reinstalling . I usually like to leave the harness still on the engine when I pull the motor . It makes it so much more easier to reinstall because everything on the motor is accessible. Next time around just disconnect the plugs from the left and right fire Walls .

If your Turbo has provisions for cartridge water cooling lines you will most definitely want to use them. They are there for a very important reason!

Just a little tip its a lot easier to plug the harness in while its out of the car and drop it in all together same with taking it out just disconnect and reconnect from chasis plugs 🙂

Always liked NA builds over turbo builds even when it comes to a d-series, but yeah definitely make sure the engine is good before boost or you might find out too late...
NA is actually so fun. I’m definitely going to try to make some power with NA B series some day.

Never let a fresh motor idle too long the first 20 minutes of a fresh build. Using break in oil is the best way because it has high mineral content to help seat rings! Just a recommendation.

Vented oil catch can to vent the block n head bec doin these swaps u lose the vent from both say b20 or ls vented on vc or pvc bs but gsr or others its ugly black box in rear

I fixed it! I made a mistake in CZcams editor!
Rebuilds the whole motor & trans but puts back on the clapped clutch assembly. Come on John... you're better then that.
That clutch has no more than 600 miles on it and it’s an ACT clutch. Not clapped at all.
Well then my apologies John. It just seemed clapped from the pads on the actual clutch disk & flywheel. Sorry for assuming, was just making an observation. Love your content & can’t wait for this thing to make some jam on the Dyno with the turbo on 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
