I hated pulling, debated just getting a extruder. But after watching this and other videos of yours, I was able to not only get it figured out, but also do it much faster. Thanks for your informative and well done videos!
I’ve heard that pulling the clay for the handles aligns the clay particles to make it stronger, which is always useful when making something breakable.
Simon Leach has a wonderful video on pulling handles too. I vastly prefer hand pulled handles. I like to see the signs that it’s hand-made object. I also have a jig that I made to get the curve just right and it accounts for shrinkage too. I’d recommend making one if you’re having trouble getting your handles just right.
I love your videos. Could you teach how to make identical pots or mugs? Clearly it's one if your best amazing strength. Also, don't you get bired throwing the same shape?

Hello Florian, thank you for the videos, pretty sure I watched everything, some multiple times. When I tried pulling so wet right on the cup, they always sag drastically after attaching them. I was wondering if you had any tips, perhaps the clay you use has more grog and body.
Absolutely beautiful video, Florian... I have failed with this technique so many times and this video is really clear in showing how to do it... I am heading to handle my mugs now! (Edit) How exactly did you make your touchmark/makers mark? Was it sculpted or carved? Or is it something else :D
Thank you Martin, it's a tricky technique and it really took me some real trial and error until I started to get handles that I really liked. It's like throwing I guess, or anything for that matter, just takes some persistence, but it's worth it for the natural, flowing handles that can be made. Good luck with them!
Excuse me Florian, regarding your Spinner gifted to you from Richard Carter. Have you considered or do you think it would be possible to create an 'offest' spinner that still spun concentrically with in a range of say 5mm? What I am suggesting is even if you didn't put it in the precise centre, it would still be centred and not require centring. I feel like such an object could save valuable seconds that would really add up when making large batches of repeated shapes. Just a thought and would love to know what you or your community thought.
Be persistent! Make lots. Don't be precious about the pots you make at the start, as you'll only get better as time goes by, especially at the start. Good luck and thanks for watching as always, Austin.

Besides the look, the pulling process aligns the clay particles, making the handle stronger.
