  • VelociCoaster is Universal Studios' latest and greatest coaster and many are saying it is also the most intense roller coaster in the resort! Ive seen quite a few guests express their hesitancy to ride this new roller coaster after seeing how tall it is, how fast it is and the types of restraints being used! This video takes you through every element of the VelociCoaster and gives you all the information you need to know what to expect from this ride!

The only thing that’s stopping me from getting on the Velocicoaster is that drop.

Thank you for explaining how your body feels going down that drop. I absolutely HATE the sensation of dropping /falling and that's been my biggest worry with this ride. I can handle all the other elements 😂 Great video & review! New subbie đŸ™ŒđŸŸ

Rode it twice, once in front and once in back. I can say that the back is scarier than the front. Especially the top hat, which whips you over and ejects you in the back way more than the front. I preferred the front for the view and being able to anticipate the next elements, but the back is more intense. And that heartline roll is no joke. Definitely the scariest (and most thrilling) element I've ever experienced on any coaster.

As someone who will never ride this, I am very much appreciative of the breakdown of each of the steps so that I am sure for myself what I need to do. Thank you for your thorough review

I went on this ride a couple weeks ago. It was my first major roller coaster, I didn’t know how extreme it was, I barely even knew it existed before I went. That was probably the greatest ride I’ve ever been on in my life (so far). Every fear I’ve ever had of roller coasters literally melted off the moment the ride was over. I’d do anything to ride it again soon.

Great review, this ride feels like its trying to kill you the entire time. My wife had to rest immediately following this ride. The even had a medic on standby once we got off. Hulk feels like Disney’s Slinky Dog compared to this.

I rode Velocicoaster twice. First time was second row right side. Second time was back row right side. This video helped me to understand the coaster before I got on it because I do NOT like surprises. Even though I watched this video like 4 times, I was basically crying in line and having a panic attack lol and almost chickened out. I rode it though and I was honestly underwhelmed by the intensity that I felt. For those who are worried about the stomach dropping feeling on the ride like I was, especially on the hill, I am here to tell you that there was not a SINGLE second that my stomach dropped at any point on the ride. I was worried the most about the hill and the launches. The front of the ride was a smooth, easy ride to me. I had a lot of fun, and I got ejector airtime, but nothing too crazy. I decided to get back on in the very back row today because I wanted to experience more intensity, and boy DID I. However, by no means was it unbearable intensity. The launches were definitely more intense, and I definitely was out of my seat a lot more, and the Mosasaurus roll at the end of the ride for sure tried to launch me into the water at the end of the ride. However, I was not really scared after we took off. I didn’t even tuck my legs the entire ride! And for those scared about the lap bar, you don’t even think about it once you launch. It becomes a second thought. You are very secure despite your upper half being free. It actually makes the experience that much better. I HIGHLY recommend this coaster, and this is coming from a coaster wimp.

You need to do this type of video for every rollercoaster in universal, maybe even disney if you have the chance. This could help alot of people including me when it comes to riding rollercoasters.

I just want to THANK YOU for posting this step by step explanation of the Velocicoaster. I can do inversions all day long, but I really don’t do big drops! I don’t like that dropping feeling in my stomach and I find it extremely terrifying. I kept telling myself that if it wasn’t for the drop (top hat), I know I would be able to ride it. We had already gone to see the ride and still wasn’t convinced I wouldn’t be able to ride. Once I found your video, you had me convinced I could. SO we ended up going back, and even though I was extremely nervous, I DID IT! Oh my goodness, it was SO surprised that the drop was not a big deal! This ride was AMAZING! Can’t wait to ride it again! Thank you again for posting such details of this ride! I’m so grateful!

I take this with me whenever I go on any scary roller coaster with restraints like that:

10/10 coaster! The anticipation is worse then the ride itself. I rode in the middle and I was so scared. Just breathe and close your eyes if your anxiety is bad. I prepared myself for the top hat and it actually wasnt that bad. After the drop I was laughing with hands in the air, but keep your eyes open during the barrel roll towards the end it’s a cool view

I’m 64 years old and rode it. If I can, you can. First time was back row (totally by chance). Second time, a couple hours later, my son and I “chose” front row. I agree with others, that the back row is more intense re airtime, but the front row was much more scary due to the low profile of the front of the car. There’s very little if anything in front of you. Just the track, pretty much. That indeed was quite unnerving. That being said, front row, as it always is, was much smoother. In reality, the entire ride is smooth (much more so than Hulk). Riding on air “the entire time” (airtime, lol) has to be smooth, right? Again, ride it. If a 64 year old geezer can (and love it), you can!

I have just ridden this and was very nervous. So was the guy beside me. I watched this video three times beforehand and he is spot on. It is over before you know it. Do it once then go and treat yourself to a Butterbeer. Be proud of yourself for riding this because it is truly a unique experience.

The scariest part of this ride is waiting in line in anticipation lol. I'm not a big coaster rider and this is the first inversion coaster I've ever ridden and definitely the most intense coaster I've ever ridden. Super strong vertical g force and lots of spirals are what mess with me most and this didn't bother me at all. I can't wait to ride it again!

Rode it three times yesterday. I thought I was going to die the entire first time, so I came out of it more in shock than anything else. Second and third time I loved it, because I knew what to expect.
