Hi! This one video will teach you ALL the breathing techniques for labour that you need! You will learn how to breathe during labour from start to finish. This video covers 3 hypnobirthing breathing techniques, Up Breathing, J Breathing and Down Breathing/Birth Breathing. Some women prefer the J Breathing technique over the Down Breathing technique (or the other way round) but both can be used for the birthing stage of labour. The Up Breathing technique is solely for the 1st stage of labour (cervical dilation). After you have watched this video and learned the breathing techniques for labour and birth, please make sure that you practice your labour breathing techniques every day (especially in the 3rd trimester) to ensure that you feel completely sure how to do them so you will use them successfully during labour.

I hope you enjoy this breathing techniques for labour video. I cover hypnobirthing breathing techniques (Up breathing, J breathing and Down breathing) Which one did you find easiest? And will you be using J breathing or Down breathing when you give birth?
I think down breathing is easier for me! Thank you for your videos Anja! âĽď¸
@@ilektrant thanks for your message! Glad you like the down breathing technique! How did you find the up breathing? â¤ď¸
Very helpful! But I wonder if I ll remember all of these when the time comes! I also use your affirmations and the third trimester meditation!
@@ilektrant try to practice them, especially when you get to your third trimester. I practiced every day đ
I really enjoyed this video.
Thank you for sharing
Idk how many vids I looked through, found all speakers annoying, so this is very nice for a change - seeing that normal down to earth human giving instructions and examples
What I think I need to write - I've seen this video twice - it's amazing. It was my first time to be pregnat and thanks using this breathing techniques my labor lasted 6 hours! I really love it. What i remembered was "1,2,3,4 in...1,2,3,4,5,6,7 out..."
Wow! That's amazing! So glad that the video helped you â¤ď¸ Did you have a baby girl or baby boy? Sending you lots of love Magdalena đ

Thanks so much for your message! Really glad the videos have helped you. Are you feeling excited about meeting your baby? X
@@HypnobirthingWithAnja absolutely!!! Just a tad worry I'm 36 weeks and he's still breech. Is it possible for him to turn in time, so I can deliver vaginally?
@@crystolplummer9739 it is possible. You may want to ask about an ECV (External Cephalic Version) which is when your doctor tries to manually turn your baby head down. Or try these things in the following videos:

Hi Anya great video question about the downward breathing are you recommending that breath during pushing or is that just for coping with active and transitional labor. I know in the hospitals here in the states theyâre always telling women to send their breath down by not expelling their air out of their mouth. Thoughts?
Thank u very much am in my 3rd tremester this will help me alot
You're welcome Ahlam đ Thank you so much for your message. Are you excited about meeting your baby? Is this your first baby? đ

am on my 35th now. gonna follow this coz am having big baby my OB said
I hope that your OB saying your baby is big hasn't worried you. A big baby doesn't mean a bad birth. The key to a positive birth is relaxation and believing in your body and your baby. Breathing definitely helps to relax your muscles and that makes labour easier. I hope it all goes well for you Tigie đđđ
Thank you so much, from Israel.

@@HypnobirthingWithAnja No ma'am ,in India its ban for sex identification of baby.
@@kitchenset14 oh yes. I remember being told by another lady from India. She told me about foeticide of baby girls in the past. It makes sense for there to be a ban I guess. đ

I def prefer down breathing, but am trying to visualize the J method whilst exhaling out my mouth with purpose!
Hoping to incorporate the two :)
Does this sound feasible/ make sense? Either way, thanks!! đ
You can definitely try both of them so you know how they both work but I would recommend choosing one and practicing that daily in your 3rd trimester so you feel confident about using it during the giving birth stage of labour đđ
I struggle to breathe through my nose. Not for a reason, I always have. Would these longer counts work with just the mouth breathing?
Yes of course! Just make sure you drink plenty of water so your mouth doesn't get too dry from inhaling through the mouth and ensure that you keep your jaw relaxed đ
Is there a way to avoid cutting the perineum in the first birth?
Yes! Do perineal massage đ This video will explain everything: czcams.com/video/AUNeNVjxH9Q/video.html
If you have any questions let me know đ
There is Epi -No as well.
Iâm 36 weeks and 1 day
Congratulations Cassandra! How are the final weeks of your pregnancy going? đ
I just came from one of your labor inducing hypnobirthing videos. I fell asleep and woke up to my water breaking. Now Iâm breathing through contractions. Thank youđ
Edit: Iâm 10 days past my due date
Good luck with your baby's birth! I hope it goes well đđđ
Iâm confused about the down breathing during birth, the midwives told me to breath in and hold my breath to push. When I started breathing out my mouth they told me to stop. I want my second birth to be better, hence looking into breathing techniques. Can you explain what to say to the midwives when trying these breaths? Thanks
I don't know why you were being told how to breathe last time. It's not right and can make you feel all confused when giving birth especially if your instincts were telling you differently. đ The most important thing is having a loose jaw and an open mouth because that means there is no tension in the pelvis and birth canal. A tight closed mouth can cause tension and restriction in the lower body. When I was giving birth, I was exhaling through my mouth and the midwives were very encouraging of that. My advice would be to tell the midwives or write in your birth plan that you are going to be using hypnobirthing breathing techniques during labour and that your partner will be helping with this. That's what I did and it made the birthing part smooth and comfortable for me â¤ď¸
@@HypnobirthingWithAnja thank you for your response. This is very helpful. I live I. Australia so maybe the midwives work differently out here. For my second birth I really want to avoid tensing up, and putting pressure on my bottom area and pelvic floor as I sustained Injuryâs from my last birth. I will definitely write on my birth plan that I will be doing hypnobirthing breathing. Thank you for your support.
@@beccasoons3356 glad my reply helped. Anytime you have a question, let me know. I'm here for you â¤ď¸
I am a little late with my response. But I also had midwives which told me what to do - lay flat on my back, don't move and breathe in a way that wasn't comfortable. Also they gave me something to stop my contractions after breaking my water (!) so they could switch shifts. I was laying there with the urge to push getting stronger and a racing heart for almost two hours, scared because they told me I shouldn't push yet. The one that started her shift then was much nicer and "allowed" me to push. I hated all of that so much in hindsight and was really happy about being able to give birth at home the second time around.
Much shorter, easier and I was way more emotional and myself. I am looking forward to my homebirth number two which could be any day now. :)
@@miaurakimchi7349 That sounds awful Iâm so sorry that happened to you!
