- Hello Fragcomm, how are you all doing?finally I am doing the legendary "Musc-Ravageur" by Frederic-Malle, a Niche fragrance which was released some 20 years back. thank you Masud bhai/Perfume Bangladesh for the sample set courtesy for the review. let's see what this fragrance is like.

A genuine masterpiece and a total beauty in fall weather. Having said that I can totally see why this may be difficult for some to enjoy based on the climate where they live. Great review as always!

Heavy loud musk in there but I love the note of spicy cloves playing with it it gives the whole fragrance its edge, an awesome fragrance
As always, I agree with you on the best of this house... And this one is great but not near the magnetic appeal of some of Malle's others

This is a total masterpiece apparently very similar to Meharees by L'erbolario if you want something a bit cheaper that gets you very close.

There's 100% no real deer musk in Musc Ravageur. Roucel used a synthetic musk in here and there isn't really that much of it. He said there´s more ''musk'' in his other creation called Dans Tes Bras. Plus, this one has been reformulated slightly ever since Estee Lauder took them over. Before it was a bit more challenging and the clove/cinnamon were more pronounced.

How's the performance?
I am late seeing this but the performance is great can detect on the skin hours after spraying. It is 30 degrees out and I have not been out there but I would say this perfume would be great for spring(or anytime for that matter). the projection is not the great but sillage is great...again stays on skin or someone near you can smell you for at least 6 hours.
This one is beautiful!!!!!! Reminds me a slightly on CK Obsession and Shalimar's edp, specially when Shalimar is in its dry down...Have to get this one and I am thinking also about Carnal Flower, but that would be a blind buy.... Could you please let me know how close CF is to Wild Python by Mancera? Thank you for the reviews! ♡
A guy was wearing a fragrance and I coulda swore I was smelling Musc Ravageur, so I had to ask him what he was wearing, and sure enough, he said CK Obsession

You cant use real musk anymore, not for years. This is one of my favorite perfumes. I dont even find it musky at all its more of a vanilla in the base than anything else, with clove and cinnamon.
Actually, you can. There are still a number of niche and indie perfumers that use real deer musk. As far as I know, though, there is only one place one earth where you can obtain it legally: Russia. Apparently there's a traditional tribe there in which deer hunting is a part of their culture and tradition, and the Russian government regulate the hunting.
