Operation: Pigeon Scare [Part I]

So in the fight to get rid of the pigeons nesting under my solar panels I decided to make something animated.
So at first I started experimenting with some foil wings on a rotating motor.
But I thinkmInneed to build an animated owl.

Haha, that first version is really great, especially with the addition of the "head". But I'm definitely also curious about the owl!

Can’t wait to see how well it works 👍👍 See if you can find a Chuckie doll. I tried those owls too keep birds from roosting in my backyard over my patio and they didn’t work at all. So I got some cats and problem solved no more flying rats.

Yeah I've seen many owl statues on rooftops. *They just accumulate pigeon poo all over them by the pigeons perching on them!* 💩
I'm working on my own now. Got some LED's in the eyes. A stepper motor for the head so it rotates left and right.
And I just thought of using three light sensors so it can turn it's head in the direction of the tripped sensor. If I can get those to differentiate enough. HA HA
Right now I'm thinking up of how I can make a end switch to home the head at power up so the controller can know where it is directing the head.
Most of what I use is recycled from all the junk I keep from old printers etc.
In case the owls don't pay much attention to the head rotating, I plan on installing a motor through the back to spin some reflective arms which should definitely make it more animated!

@@hackfreehvac I will keep watching and hope they work then you can patent it and retire in better shape than me. Nothing like recycling good electronics, you have an endless supply of that from the hvacr world.
