Great review, I also added the update check point on my preflight check off sheet, and yes do this the night before nothing more addivating to get out in the field and get the notice.

Updates aren't always a good thing. If you have a solid preforming system, I say stick with it. I use a "modified" app, that has proven itself, and will not be applying any updates.
