#OrangeAmps #TerrorStamp #ChapmanGuitars - Hudba
Long distance touring and this would be a life saver if the backline is arse
It has even got an integrated cab sim and di. That's why I considered it for my pedalboard. But in the end I'll probably go with an anvil preamp from musikding
“The preservation of the martyr in..... oh...”
SAME 🤣
Damn I was wondering why it sounded so familiar lmao
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who caught that.
🤣
"Pedal amp...a pamp!"
Pete, it's a stomp box amp...a stamp.
Riffs and playing are 10/10, but the tone just doesn't cut it. Too muddy, low definition.
Yea. A good boost pedal would solve that pretty easy, but pete always use that shit mini ts that isnt really enough to give that push
@@iagopedroni2451 maybe using the precision drive could solve this problem.
@@JaesperSG definetely a better option when it comes to tunings that low, but usually these problems with mix-cutting come from lack of mids
@lago TS Mini is a really solid pedal. I used it because it’s in the same price range as the amp and the Precision Drive would likely be too much for the amp to handle. Thanks for watching :)
Without getting to picky. Sounds alright!
What do you think, is an Amp in a Pedal a good idea? :)
DAYM! the sound and playin` are GOOOOOD
Misha Mansoor has one that also doesn't suck. Horizon Devices.
knowing that to use it live you've got to lug a cab anyway... maybe on the off-chance you use a real clean rig and you need a metal distortion you could use this instead, but why go through the trouble of aby-ing this thing? only real use for it i can think of is studio use to plug directly into the console.
knowing what i've said, i fully expect someone in the comments to come up with a great utility for it.
Sounds good to me.. I bet you could do one riff and 20 bands no problem!
absolutely, i've played in venues where they only have PAs and a mixer, and having all the sound you need on your board can be a huge difference
Your editing is getting really solid! Nice one mate
Cabsim is a badass Orange feature no one talks about much. It sounds so good imo, I have a blast jamming with headphones when the family is in bed and I have recorded some direct in stuff I'm happy with.
I just got a Jet City JCA50H and I love it. Affordable and brutal. Took me a little to get a good tone out of it because it was really fuzzy and flubby in the low end. but once I realised it just has too much gain on tap and dialed it back from 10 to 5. It's a nice tight crunchy metal machine.
Dude, that little box sounds great! Liking that guitar too!
Thanks for watching! :)
damn that´s a sick song you got there pal
Thanks! :)
You're seriously beast man. You've been teaching me a lot for a long time . please sir...continue
Thanks for watching and happy to help :)
@@peteplaysmusic You showed me how to just play...you're an inspiration sir..please be safe in these crazy times.
Never fail to impress Pete..and that track you wrote is epic 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
Thanks! :)
BluG with the Amp1 designing floor pedal based amp, I think TwoNotes has one now as well. I've had no issues using an older Zoom G5 as a fly rig to mixer board either. Coming a looooooong way in terms of portability.
Man that sounded great what where the amp settings?
Demo song about had me moshing in my living room!! Dang bro! Sounds pretty good.
Would this thing somehow be able to be plugged into a boss Katana and used as a distortion pedal?
According to the NAMM interviews, yes. Still trying to find a video of it used this way though.
If you're a guitarist and you share a dorm room at univeristy this thing is a very good alternative to an amp if you like pedals or already have some. But I don't think I'll ever buy that in a situation where space is an issue but I'd rather buy a sound card and some software.
I really like the idea of an amp in pedal form. Tube amps can be quite encumber some. it'd be nice to have a small rig to take to practice...
3:44 just screams ola englund. I love it!!
Thanks for the convincing tones Pete.
In my country we mostly run direct or into shitty amps while we're doing small gigs. The case would be different if we play on bigger gigs
it¡s posible play slpknot with this stamp and record with headphone aoutput?
"By(e) now" loved that pun
Hell Yeah for that song!
Thanks! :)
0:08 oh yeah, I get that a lot
The closing song sounded really good to! What video was the closing song in?
It was in my original demo of the Micro Dark from about 4 years ago. Thanks for watching! :)
Isn’t the transformer in the included power brick? So it’s not really a full amp in a pedal.
...and it sounds awesome and the riffs could not be better for showcase!
Thanks! :)
I started with the Katana 50, played with Line6 UX2 som years and now I use the Micro Terror... Micro Terror is a beast compared to the other two amps although they cost about the same.
That right hand has the combined rhythmic power of James Hetfield and Dino Cazares :O
Keep rockin' as always, Pete!
Thanks! :)
3:07 wtf was that holy shit
can you maybe explain what's going on there? I've never heard anything like that
Sata just hammer one and pull offs looks major thirds
Pete, the nicest guy in Metal who writes the killest riffs!
Something in this format has extreme value too me, it's small enough I can keep it on my desk plugged into an IR loader with a few basic effects and an overdrive or distortion and wham...instant song writing set up.
Love the track
Thanks! :)
Are those yamaha hs 7?
Yes :)
Seemed a bit pedampic :O) I'd like to hear another demo with more classic rock riffs, as it was a little difficult to get an idea of it as an all-rounder, but it the price, it would be a great emergency solution when playing live, or a space-saver if only used in a recording situation.
If the made the distortion tighter like a dark terror, I'm sure it would be awesome.
1:15 was waiting for dad joke: bye-nana =)
The fx loop makes it worth it alone. You could hook up a helix and boom good to go.
If I could have my entire guitar sound all be on a pedalboard and not need to carry a cab to every gig, absolutely. Especially if you're the kind of person that wants to stay analog and not get a Kemper or an Axe Fx or something. And especially if you only need one or two different tones, coupled with this low of a price tag, it seems like one of the best value options out there.
"pamp!"

:D
Something REALLY easy to use as an amp to take to rehearsal. Use it as a backup for your main amp live just in case. So much usability..
Useful as a backup or a little travel amp
What about positive grid spark ?
I haven’t tried it yet, Is it also an amp pedal? Thanks for watching! :)
Pete Cottrell it’s an amp with dedicated positive grid features mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Is also works as wireless speaker 🔈
i am more interested with the spam above your monitor
Well.. This solves my problem. Im traveling w band without van. (We are really bad drivers) So now i can just put this into my gigbag w boost and eq pedal and Im done. Hopfully it will sound Ok trough pa.
Sounds.. Ok I guess
Loved that track though!
Test the BOSS MD-2.
Its a cool little amp, no bass butler but still ;)
Regardless of the tone the song kicks as much ass as it did back when in the original video! 🤘 did you use this for the Revv G3 demo too?
Yes :)
@@peteplaysmusic it's some top notch death metal and always interesting to hear how it sounds through different pieces of gear.
nice
Not bad, next style of video would love to see you throw in some demon hunter or Devin townsend
Als Spassamp für zu Hause über ne 2x12 zoll Box sicher ne gute Sache, allerdings bezweifel ich das dies Teil in Natura auch nur annähernd so gut klingt wie hier im Video.
You should do “best cheap 8string” next.
All the gain!........more gain!........😎. last comment in the video explains why the amp sounds nothing like a micro dark. He doesn’t play live which given the mix he’s put up in video just sounds like a metal drum and bass track. The guitar is not cutting through need to brighten up those tones and stop trying to occupy the frequencies that the bass and drums operate in.
But it’s not the end of the world some tweaking of settings and a much better sound is possible.
I own a micro dark and it’s a great amp really versatile and a cheap way to get some valve goodness in your life, but as with all gear if it’s not dialled in just right it can sound a bit pants.
🤘
Hey, great video, great song by the way, if you actually wrote it (Not an english speaker so I don't always understand what is said perfectly) It is fire :)
I'm going to buy my very fisrt guitar and I want to play mainly stuff like Slipknot, Amon Amarth, let's say metal x)
Actually I do not understand/know everything I should I think, soooo I'm kinda lost about what to buy, lemme explain quick :
- I don't have a heck lot of money, won't be able to spend like 800€ (around 700£ or 1000 $ maybe) at all, more like around 300€/400$/250£ (the conversion is done so bad XD It's late, Im sleepy).
- I am aiming to play with a headset.
For the moment, I would like to buy an Ibanez, looking for a used one, like 200€ max (really wanted the rga42fm but It is kind of 300€ over what I can afford XD, damn its a beautiful guitar, kinda sad), I found an rg 350 dx for 200€, might buy that quick :)
I do absolutly not know how to achieve my goal wich is playing metal with a headset on, I do not know if I need pedals or it could be done with a small amp, DO I EVEN NEED an amp since I am going to have an headset ? Can this lil kind of amp/pedal be used alone ?
If anyone takes the time to read this, fisrt of all you are brave, this text must be full of errors in the language, I'm not english at all, sorry about that, and then, If you can help me figuring out what to do, I would really appreciate it ! Have a great day.
I think you’d be able to make an old boot sound great if you plugged a guitar in
The sound is so so to be honest, and the micro dark for me sucked after testing (the other one though...the micro terror which doesn't have the loop, that one ...rocks. Hard) so two questions,
Why not the micro dark? Similar price...looks better. More protected.
Secondly why wouldn't they up the wattage a bit...40 would be much better to let it breathe. For me it also lacked in preamp gain.
THAT said, man great riffs and playing. You got a fan. Again.
Thanks for watching! :)
i felt the same thing about the micro dark but the full size dark terror kicks all sorts of ass especially with a really nice boost like a precision drive
@@hazenstribling2646 I haven't tried the regular dark but even through clips it's a million times ahead
The micro terror cleans up beautifully with a good tube..
Big headroom improvements for cleans if you swap in a 12ay7 (but still has boat loads of distortion)
I'm kinda bipolar with it..
Pantera megadeth or SRV Jimmy Hendrix.... But never bbking clean
You have no idea what youre talking about. Literally all of the gain on this is from the preamp anf theres a lot of gain too much in fact for modern metal. It needs to be boosted by a OD but also have the gain set to low, now a big concern to me is the amount of clean head room... Because basically it is just a glorified distortion pedal if it doesn't get loud while staying mostly clean. Also 20 Watts Class A/B is fucking LOUD. Doesn't compare to some Line 6 or even Marshall 20 Watt Solid state.
Sounds good, but a bit flat. Really needs like a Precision Drive for that extra punch.
It’s boosted with a Tube Screamer Mini in this video. I think the Precision Drive would be a little too much for it. Thanks for watching! :)
Pete, please (and yall like this and get it to the top) but for real, do psychosocial by slipknot is 20 styles
Damn dude sounds metal AF
Thanks! :)
😊👍
Everyone is complaining how it doesn’t sound like a 6505/5150/Recto but it sounds like an orange and that’s what matters if you are buying it as orange amps tend to have a smoother top end and woolier lower mids
*GOOD BANNANA*
it sounds good, at least for me
Pampin' since been pampin'
Sliiiiiiiiipknooooooooot!!!!!!! 🤘💀🤘
An amp in a pedal size is a good idea, like the Duncans, but at 20 watts, not interesting.
Have you ever had anyone approach you as a songwriter to purchase your music? I understand if you can't or don't wish to answer. I ask 'cause you're like, kinda good. Kinda.
Packs a bit of punch for its size
Pete Cottrell
0:29 that's what she said, with sad tears in her eyes
'Bout time someone dropped a tube screamer in front of the T Stamp to show all us metal heads what its capable of!
definitely not the palm mute kind of pedal.. sounds okay though for it's purpose.
I'm gonna probably get this with my income tax just wonder what would be a decent 2x12
harley benton shags.
I'll check it out thank you
Something that is 8ohms to get that full 20w
That tune sounds positively Norwegian🤘
Cool video. It sounds pretty good to me anyways.
Thanks! :)
Are
Well atleast sounds better than a spider
Can you send your Terror Stamp to me? Thanks.
I have to send it back to Orange :)
"What this basically is is the Micro Dark amp."
Orange should have painted it black. Just by looking at it, I thought it was a Micro Terror in a box.
My understanding is that both those Amps are basically identical aside from the colour? Thanks for watching! :)
They are quite different. Tonally, the Micro Dark has WAY more gain, and requires a Tube Screamer to get any useful sounds. It also has less mids, because metal. Basically, if your primary amplifier if a 5150, then the Micro Dark is your gig bag amp. As for the Micro Terror, it has more mids, less gain, more of a general multitasker. This is what you want if you prefer more Marshall-Fender sort of tones. The Micro Dark is what you want if you only care about metal.
Functionally, the Micro Terror has an Aux in, so you can plug in your MP3 player, if anyone still has those. So, this is your bedroom amp for jamming to backing tracks. The Micro Dark has an effects loop, so this is your gigging amp.
Micro dark has alot more gain, a mid sweep instead of a treble roll-off and an fx loop. Very different from the micro terror.
his name is pete, and he plays music
Official: it's called a Pamp
Lol 😂. Thanks for watching ! :)
Of course it cant be bad, since its sponsored 😂 🥰
I recommend the joyo amps if we are talking about micro stuff 🥰
Hi Pete, I’m a huge cry baby and can’t understand why you’d demo something that isn’t tailored to my specific playing style/situation.
You must think you're important
@@cnelly4582 I guess the joke went over your head, he's pointing out the comments of users feeling self entitled
@@usta028 you sure mine didn't just go over yours? Just think
@@cnelly4582 hahaha it DID xD I guess it was too much sarcasm after the other to handle for me
You
Jeeeeeej
You don’t know how useful an amp is in a pedal?? And orange asked you to demo an amp in a pedal??!! Take it from someone who gigs 120 times a year, this is going to be amazing....... if I can ever get my hands on one!
Don't understand why these amps exist.
If this is for people who want the smallest rig and won't buy a 2x12 and above,
If you need to carry a cab everywhere, then the size argument is not relevant here.
For the price of this and a cab - Just buy a preamp pedal and a tube combo, nd connect to the fx return!
Mooer Preamp live is actually goona do a better job than this pedal IMO
It sounds like the word "chalk"
Is that psychosocial i can hear? I think it is
is it just me or is 200$ still kinda expensive?
Depends on - I think not, there are small effect pedals like Chase Bliss Dark World cost much more then this Amp and the Orange Stamp got Tubes in it.
It's a bit lacking in bass clarity, like the micro Terror and Tiny Terror before it. A more aggressive overdrive and lower amp gain MIGHT compensate, but i think it's just a more vintage tuned power amp with no presence or resonance controls being the issue. It's be interesting to see this modded
The Bass is a bit flubby, I always find I need to boost Orange Amps to get a decent metal tone. Thanks for watching! :)
WHAT. THE. FUCK. IS QUIIIIIIID?!!??!?!
What's up everybody, my names Pete, and I make infomercials.
Inb4 "bUT hE HAs tO geT PaiD sOmeHOw!"
$200 isn't cheap for me
"Cheap"
As a tube amp user who gigs, I've always considered this as a perfect backup without the fuss of owning and maintaining a second tube amp. I feel like people are figuring out how to build pedals that are close enough that in a live situation, it would respond in a similar enough way and sound virtually identical. And honestly from the way the notes bloom in this video, I'm fuckin sold.
A good pedal.but after listening to it i think it’s just not for me.im sorry.it has quite a lot of noise tbh
Pure evil
