Great up grade. Suspension really helps. I was thinking maybe a trailing link system on the mains like a Rockwell 114. Even I would have a hard time doing a rough landing with that mod...LOL. Thanks for the vid and may God bless ya'll

What is the weight difference between this gear and the ultracruiser gear legs?

Who's going to be first to put retractable landing gear on a H5 oh and a turbine engine. Any takers????

Very nice, Matt. One question: Before this change, how were the wheels kept from swiveling?

Is using wooden closet poles a good idea use in your shock? I mean you're talking about putting wood in an oiled and compression environment. I own a motorcycle and my front forks don't have wood spacers in them, they have a steel pipe with washers on the top and bottom of that spacer. I mean it's your design do what you want but I think you could be setting yourself up for a big lawsuit if the wood fails and something bad happens as a result of you trying to save a few pennies. Anyway that all said you make some fine aircraft and I hope to someday own an ultracruser.

The wood dowels have been used in these aircraft for 40 years. The scissor mechanism is the update. Steel tube are great, but for a light aircraft just too heavy.

There are titanium exhaust pipes. Perhaps they are suitable to replace the steel pipes. Saves a lot of weight. But is a little more expensive.

Wood is fine. Harley Davidson Progressive Suspension kits use PVC pipe/tubing, which also works great.
