Wild Blue Gondola - Section II

The longest and fastest 10-person gondola in North America, bringing guests from the Steamboat base area to the top of Sunshine peak in 13 minutes. In December of 2022 we launched section one of the gondola bringing guests from the base area to Greenhorn Ranch - our new terrain-based learning center. In Spring of 2023, we began construction on the upper section two from Greenhorn Ranch to Sunshine peak. This one-of-a-kind and state-of-the-art lift is unique in that it can operate as one single lift, or be separated into two independent lifts at the mid-station allowing for flexibility during inclement weather, or operating delays. While two large spans tower 136 feet off the ground over Rainbow Saddle, the lift towers are shorter near the top taking advantage of tree cover to mitigate wind, and weather.
