- A song from TM Krishna's concert in aid of Nalandaway. Dec 29th at Sir Mutha Venkatasubbarao Concert Hall, Chennai. Artists: TM Krishna, Dr.Hemalatha on the Violin, B.S.Purushottam on the Kanjira, Praveen Sparsh and Delhi Sairam on the Mridangam.
He must be respected forhis personal opinions on various issues but His Musical acumen cannot be ignored. Undobtedly he is among the Echleons
I can see Rama as King of Ayodhya along with Sita on his left and Lakshmana on his right. Long live the King of Ayodhya.. My Rama..
fellow devotee from different religion.taking bow 🙏🙏🙏
superb.... what a beautiful imagination 🙏👌💐

What an involvement and immersion in devotion. All the team is praiseworthy. Hats off.
Your freedom of expression on carnatic music now like the way you delivered your music to millions of people across the world with intensity.
Well done TMK.
TMK singing in his inimitable style, taking his accompanists where they have never been before. He expended so much energy and bhakti (yes!) into creating a beauty, which we didn't know would be possible, that only his passion could have seen him through to the end. He must have been exhausted. This surely is a definitive Brindavana Saranga and, indeed, one the finest exhibition of masterful singing - ever!

Your great മനസ്സിനെ അങ്ങയോളം തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഒരു musician വേറെയില്ല 🙏🙏🙏

I think those 16 minutes are called Heaven if it exists.....👍👌🙏
It exists, and it's these 16 min, like you said 🤗
Yes..absolutely..total blissssssss🙏🙏🙏🙏
Forget about his controversy. He is an absolute genius to take us to the celestial world through his soulful music
Truely bro...
I was fortunate to listen to this concert live and it was truly heaven.
I heard so many versions of rangapura vihara , but this performance is mind blowing, out of world🙏💐
But he didn't give a solo to violinist
Agreed
Rama murdered Shambhuka in a terr0rist attack.
No wards to express just experience. Very lucky person poorva janma sukruta this janma efforts 🎉🎉
This version is the best I ever heard 👍👍❤️❤️
You can disagree with TMK's world views, but not his music! Mind blowing!
For this reason, i wish he would just pursue his music, and leave the world to itself.
I may sound selfish, but i don't want to lose a consummate artist for an activist. The world has enough of the latter.
TMK's best contribution to the world may still be the accomplishments he is yet to achieve in music itself.
He could start a music school where he could teach ALL those he feels were denied access to Carnatic Music. He might make history as the biggest contributer to BOTH music as well as the 'denied.'
To reach out to others, he need not have to *decry the Brahmins* who nurtured this music form through the centuries, with their austerity , and preserved it in all its pristineness, so that a TMK could pursue it in the 21st Century.
@@krisn90 as per TMK sir himself, yes, and even if there were others, they were not recognised
@@krisn90 okay, thanks for the information!
Yes I agree with you and of course I had sent mail requesting him to keep himself away from fringe and unscrupulous elements.
his world views are the best
For me this is how I imagined the song for years. So this defines Rangapuravihara for me. The best one.
U hear Madurai mani iyer.. K v narayanaswamy followed THAT style. That is THE best
Purest form of brindavana Sarangi. Tmk elevated the kalpana swaras to the next level. True master himself
"Nidhanam" is the word. The tempo transports you to another world. Why wouldn't the Al mighty listen to you?
Deekshitar would have wanted it sung this way! Tears flew out of my eyes!!
Yes i cried too... its too emotional
Yes I too can't stop my tears
NO. YOU HEAR K V NARAYANA SWAMY VERSION. IT IS THE BEST.
HERE TMK IS GOING BY MS VERSION.
2 STYLE S MINOR VARIATIONS ARE THERE.
IGNORING TEXT MISTAKES.
NO. HINDUSTAAN EE.
THEIR BRINDAVANEE ..IS A FOLLOWER.
...Yes you said it. Tears flew out without me knowing ...!!
HEMANTHKUMAR YS You are right . KV Narayanaswamy' s slow pace clicked for me too. Couple of years ago Ranjani and Gayathri sang the same version. But can't find it on CZcams any more. So much so I have started listening to MS on slow speed now!
Very very fine and fantastic
This Muthuswamy Dikshitar Krithi is undoubtedly the toughest composition I have ever heard in Brindavana Saaranga. I hv been listening to this great Composition in MS Amma's voice since my age of 8. I hv only seen most of the singers taking painstaking efforts in rendering this Krithi to near perfection. And TMK too has put his heart & soul into this tough Composition to bring out the soul of the devotion with great depth. The rendition shows his hard work & rigorous practise and his very sincere attempt to bring out his best that certainly touched our heart. Especially, it's very difficult to hold the breath for too long when one sings at a relaxed pace and keeps on exploring the beauty of the Raaga seamlesly. Great!
All said and done...MS amma's rendition is the best... her specialty... least show max impact...
@@jayap3557 Agreed. There can be no 2nd opinion. But, this painstaking effort from TM Krishna is also commendable. I hv also heard the great DKP who too had put her heart & soul into this Krithi giving her best.
@Shreyas K MS has sung it the way Dikshitar has composed it and meant for it to be sung. Not to forget that MS was very adept in kala/laya - her mastery of the tala and mridangam(yes she was a very competent mridangist as her peers have said) is too well known - how she sings it is the way it should be sung technically, vocally and emotionally - this singer's version lacks in bhava and bhakthi… and sounds very artificial in this overly vilambit/slow kala... does not do justice to its creator...that is why more than 4 or 5 respondents in this box agree that her version is the best...and that is true about every composition that she has presented... tho you/we are free to hold your opinion...
@@jayap3557 Oh I love MS Amma's version no doubt. But the only reason for someone to pick one version over another would be preference, really. I think it's unfair to say that is how it MUST be sung. For all we know, in fact, Dikshitar's kritis - most of them - need to sung in the vilamaba kala: they are called 'vilamba kala kritis' for a reason.
@@VighneshHampapura and Shreya I agree re. personal preferences. Sure those who prefer this version can hold it in their esteem. What I miss in all non-MS Amma renditions of the Sri Rangapura Vihara for starters - is the opening Ramanujacharya virachit shloka paying obeisance to the 4 Ranganatha kshetras… MS (on her composer's advice) has managed to segue it to the start of the main kriti so wonderfully in the later renditions - incidentally this may not have been part of her initial presentations of this kriti - her command over the stage, audiences and her own talent is incredible... indeed as they have said "born to sing". As for her vilambit presentations - listen to her version of another Dikshitar gem - Akhilandeswari (dwijavanthi) to realize what should be sung in vilambit/chowka kala - and what should not be sung - Sri rangapura in my humble opinion does not feel like an emotion that should be sung so slow...that's all...otherwise why should small humans like me hold a candle to the great(est) musician of my times …. :-)
Time Machine Krishna. Can stop time as well as teleport to another era.
You said it...sir...you said it....👍👍👍
Sharihararamoumsahastranamam
Bliss!!! Beautiful Rendition. I always like his thoughts and forward thinking. I would want this man to take carnatic music in different spectrum and make available to everyone. It has become so commercial now so the essence of bhakti - soul of carnatic music is missing. Its all now about ludicrous innovation/improvisation/Glittery Presentation!
How come anybody disagree with T M Krishna's world views. I love his views and am a great fan of his music.
What a mellifluous rendition! I have heard “Rangapura vihara” by MSS: she sings this composition faster and I never thought someone could sing this song at a slow pace so beautifully until I heard this! TM Krishna has done the near impossible.
@Pillars of Creation Are you referring to the singers or someone else?
@Pillars of Creation അതെ ഞാൻ മലയാളിയാണ്
I hate his views but admire abnd enjoy his music.
One can enjoy carnatic music even without understanding the lyrics,I am from bihar but i have listened this song so many times that i can sing without knowing what it means.
,🙏🙏🙏🙏
But we here in south are addicted to the divine vocal of bade ghulam Ali khan Saab...
dont worry, plenty of south indians dont understand the words either!

Vilambakaala is eminently suitable for this Raga. TMK's rendering here is marvelous.
1 of those few songs which touches ur heart and keep hearing whenever one wants...
one cannot argue with his music--brilliant!
What a rendtion..bliss....he has become mad, insane singing....he only has to beat his own performance...am shot of words...he was in a sort of trans with Lord Rama...he was conversing with Him....accompanying artists went clueless,bewildered,spellbound...there are parliment of singers...but TMK stands on TOP.....Beyond compare...excellent
U r right. No words to express.
Narayana Narayana Narayana
Great
At 8.29 he does a Namaskaram, the arpanam of the soul to Lord Ranga..power packed performance showcasing the glory of Shri Ranga
Excellent
Superb excellent. Wonderful.
Words taik me to describe the joy, the bliss that were created in me while listening. You stand alone. May you be a Chiranjeevi.

Definitely he is conversing with the Lord.in our presence.he only can beat himself.what a thunderous rendering and swarashudhi......Thank you sir.......
Yes with Jesu he is bargaining
Soorya Gayathri or Sivaram Krishnan is better
I was blessed to having seen this live..stunning performance by TMK!
Did he start the concert with this?
@@krishnamurthynarasipur2556 yes
I always dream of attaining salvation by singing this song in Sri Rangam Temple. Today my dream is becoming more stronger.
Do tell whenever you visit. I'll try to join you brother. I wanna do this too.
You are not alone 🙏🏿🙏🏿🥺🥺🥺
Just discovered this great artist on UTube today and am hooked! Listened to Arunachala a dozen times today!!!
I feel that in my humble view, king of music at present is TMK and the king of queen is MS AMMA.RAM RAM
just like queen of music is MS Amma, TMK is king of music. RamRam
NalandaWay Foundaion. Thanks for giving me another flow of my beloved "Sree Ranga Pura Vihaaraa!" thru TMK.
I am regularly drenched in this Brundhaavana Saarangaa Raagam thru our Great MS Ma. Since my boyhood in 70s.
This rendition in a much calmer and in a very slower tempo is really absorbing. TMK is deep Saareeram renders this in another alangaaram on Raaman and Krishnan! Thanks again for stirring my reminiscing on my childhood
I think I should have listened to this more than a 3 x 200 x 40 times! In gratitude to my Teacher Mr.Thangavel, who gave me this in my school days! He was so attached to this that he usually sings in leisure all day in those blissful and dedicated schooldays. When Teachers were True to their name and were multi faceted and inspired their students in the same.
It seems by tmk sir's body language, he's conversing with lord Ranga😍😍😍. Truly lost in musical trance...
pretty sure he is an atheist...it may be he is a good showman rather than in trance. but not positive.
Pallathur1917 I think so too
What amelodios voice
@@PianoMeSasha W
Proves even an atheist can't escape from the godly vibration of divine composer Dikshidar's composition! Rama is so loving to undergo penance for the peaceful departure of Ravana's soul!
The style in which he conducts the song is an inspiration to young learning singers and for elders to enjoy his music.
I don't know how to recover from addiction of this song. Hearing all the day
Me too.
Even have listened to this more than 3 times a day 🙏
T M krishna is one of of the great artist without much encouragement
His music is device. DSN
Very true.
Better to get more addicted, if possible.. The Kriti itself like that n TM Krishna Sir..super
No need to recover...
This fine singer has conviction both on and off the stage let's applaud him for that! Too often artists compromise their vision to satisfy us I find that unfortunate
Super excellent
Sometimes language is totally insufficient to measure a performance. This rendition of TMK is in that category. It is divine music flowing from heaven.
Don't know heaven..could be like this?🙏
The length and breadth of Srirangam and ever magnificient power of RANGAN can be felt in this song....tmk once again proved he is the best and unparalleled
The listeners can feel the presence of Sri Ranganathan during his singing and through the expressions. Can't believe that he is an activist.
TMK has become Nadaswaroopam in this performance. I am blessed to enjoy this emotional music of TMK.

Apart from being a great and wonderful musician, is willing and courageous enough to stand up and speak fearlessly for what he believes in.
I agree.
Absolute bliss..he takes you along with himself in a divine experience..
I used to listen to this as a kid, the famous and quintessential cassette of MS Subbulakshmi which has this and many other compositions. Listening to TMK is like infusing your own self with the devotional feelings that I used to get when listening to this as a child. Wonderful!
Mind blowing and intoxicating music.
Every time I hear this song it takes me to a different world 🙏🙏🙏TMK Sir
Powerful singing! It will bring us back again and again. Hats off

Bliss....
No words to say about TMK.He completely involved and God might have listened his vocal and instrument played madam also given great support to him.
Deserves a standing ovation
What a melodious singing and one can feel go nearer to Sri Ranganatha after listening him. Every time I listen, I feel charged with Daivatvam.🙏
What a melodious, divine rendering of Brindavana Saranga composition of Deekshithar. Vid MS Amma and Vid MLV used to render this in Sheshadri puram High School during the 1960s almost as the last rendering of the kacheri. Virtually everyone would be waiting to listen to Ranga Pura Vihara. Great. Hail VTMK.
Others I like are Ranjini Gayatri and of course Harish Sivaramakrishnan
Chandrakanth sir r u old student of sheshadripuram school, I did my schooling and college in same school and college
Real music
Vilambit style of rendition makes TMK stand out in carnatic music...it give listeners chance to enjoy the Raaga along with the musician while he immerses himself in exploring it ..and I suppose it's not easy at all... Excellent TMK....
I feel the same.. this is the best version of Rangapura Vihar.. I think this brings out the “bhava” the best way.. and who can argue with TM Krishna’s music..
Totally submerged.
Does Vilambit means prolonged ?
Kind of Hindhustani tradition
La jabab.
Pure bliss !! Minutes 05:00 to 07:00 .. bringing tears to my eyes and I have absolutely no clue why ..
...u got tears as tmk touched a soft cosy corner of your soul which is deeply twined with the DIVINE

May god bless a long and healthy life. Bring the young generations to this Divine world of CarnaticMusic!
What a captivating voice and an involved rendition. Filled life into Brindavani Sarang. Wonderful.
This rendering is almost equivalent to visiting the ancient Vishnu temple. A blessing to have you amongst us, Sri TM Krishna!
Tears started flowing from my eyes with out me even knowing

What a blissful rendition.Rangapura vihara means T M Krishna Sir, That's all.

I like all your concerts sir u r voice is divine T M K sir. I left carnatic music In my school days now again Im learning . your carnatic music rocks
Have heard MS Subhalakshmi singing this song.TMK has given a pleasant twist in singing.this piece.Very different & enjoyable,
I observe much of youth are enjoying Carnatic classical music in tamilnadu even though many keertanas are in Telugu language. Here in Andhra Pradesh we are now listening our own classics ,lucky
Yes, despite popular rhetoric of tamils being fanatics, the opposite is the true fact
Sri Ranganathar touched his Hridhayam for a few seconds , esp In “Sangada Haryana “ , and he controlled his emotions, and went into a trance . There is a beautiful saying in English. The sweetest SONGS are those that tell us the saddest moments “ Thanks to Sri TM M Krishna for bringing Sri Ranganatha in all our hearts for that 16 mts. Blessings to you Sri TMK. Looking forward to the uploads of the full concert .
Very glad to hear that you loved it.
:-))
Interestingly Mr. Krishna feels "gods" and "goddesses" have taken over Carnatic music and its too "Brahminical" - so yeah, music of the great trinity is without bhava or bhakti but mere musical wizardry for him. Not my cup of tea. Not sure why he sings "brahminical" music filled with "too much of religion" - which he blabbers in every interview. I stopped attending concerts by him long time ago because disrespect to Sri Dikshitar is not something I will tolerate

Intoxicating experience to listen to TMK render Rangapura - magical purity & beauty
கம்பீரமான கர்ஜனை. திருவரங்கன் கருவரையிலிருந்து வெளியே புறப்பாடு உற்சவம். TM KRISHNA STYLE is also enjoyable for his SPIRIT.

Listening a 1000th time. All time fav.
From the first note...Krishna mesmerises. The most soulful rendition of RV I have heard. And the mellifluous tone of Hemalata's violin captures and reflects the mood perfectly. Perfect accompaniment!
His voice going to hevan...birth is lords ....

If any one ask anytime which concert you want to listen , some how my only one answer will be Rangapura Vihara from TMK.....till my last breath..., Some how he and his team elevated this to another level.....
100% 👍👍👍
When he utters pattabi rama perhaps Rama may be present and watching him. So nicely rendered that particular bit. Mesmerising.
