Michael Kiwanuka is fantastic. Check out has most recent self-titled album, rare album I can listed to all of it straight through every time.
If you're familiar with Danger Mouse from Gnarls Barkley, he produced this last album. He's underrated by the music press, but music fans seriously know how good he is. And he's generally listed a rock, but really defies categorization.
You should react to Keep the Wolves Away by Uncle Lucius. Awesome storytelling and symbolism in that song.
Enjoyed this, thanks for being real instead of overhyping the song for views. Tbh you might like the studio version more. It's the first one I heard and that shit damn near got me crying from how beautiful it is. I still appreciate and like this live version but if I hadn't heard the original first I may not have come back again. The MV is pretty touching too (and has Lakeith Stanfield if you know who that is).
2 suggestions: Wildfire by Mandolin Orange (now Watchhouse) and Better South by American Aquarium! Both are great commentaries on the history of the south.
Skipping ahead was kind of weak. The intro to this song is beautiful sometimes lyrics aren’t necessary.
I absolutely love the long intro. It gives me Pink Floyd vibes. It feels like a totally different song, but I love it. The musicianship and video production are excellent. Have some patience. The iTunes version doesn’t have the long intro. Love and Hate is excellent!
