This music was chosen for the theme song for the TV series Big Little Lies. It sets a perfect tone for the show. Consider checking out some music from Michael's first album - Home Again. Very different vibe but beautiful and comforting. Both Danger Mouse and Inflo have worked with Michael. I'm really glad you enjoyed the music he and the rest of the musicians created
Nice, not enough people react to Michael, this is from the RAK sessions & they are fire.
If you want to venture into his early work may I recommend 'Tell Me a Tale' Live at Hackney Round Chapel from 2012 - it's a different vibe but easily as good.

I was wondering if you'll pick up on that Pink Floydish vibe and you didn't disappoint :-)) Also a touch of Hendrix guitar, absolutely agree. But there is still some authenticity about Michael Kiwanuka music that's fresh and, as you said - mesmerizing.
Also the camera work in this video deserves so much credit, a piece of art on its own. How that camera slowly, discretely moves across the room and covers each musicians at exactly right moment is so beautiful and adds to performance so much.
You were amazing with your patience at the beginning, thank you, but the waiting and hearing it all paid off at the end ;-) And you reacted wholeheartedly and with respect to this artist as he deserves.

I've never heard of this dude but I like his name. Not really my cup of tea music-wise, as far as sitting down and listening, but I could see it being used effectively in a screenplay. Thanks, HAP!

Interesting, different, unexpected, but an original and authentic sound festival. It looks like these guys just happen to get together for an afternoon jam session - awesome. I personally didn't expect to hear some lyrics after that long instrumental intro, nor would they be necessary because as you mentioned HAP, they elicited the emotions they needed for this song through the sound.

It was recommended to me by a friend. The song was used as a theme intro song for a TV series "Big Little Lies" (I haven't watched it but that person did and was immediately in love with the song and told me "You have to hear this". But this video...I found him myself and that was love at first listen :-)
