The Cold Steel Torpedo is a lot of fun for target throwing. The double tapered points slide effortlessly from the hand for a perfect release and offer twice the sticking potential of a conventional throwing knife. I've never seen anything like the torpedo advertised before. Very interesting concept.

I've had one of these for over two decades. It has held up beautifully, with only an occasional touch-up to the points. They're fun to throw, and awesome for self-defense in close-quarters combat as well, for adding power to a punch and for using the spiked ends to deter grapplers.

I've seen these being sold for a long time now. It was not until seeing them handled in this video here that I realized how large in size they actually were! I always thought that they were more along the size of a bo-shuriken. Thanks for putting out this video to demonstrate the product as it gives a lot more perspective than a size-less still product image with all the background of the photo removed.

You should make a kydex sheath for that, with a kydex top connected with bungee cord.
Kind of what they do with diving knives. maybe also have the ability to connect the sheaths together as well, it'll be a sweet package.

Hey Cold Steel. I love your Magnum Tanto and Master Tanto. Please make another variants for these types of knifes. For example, a folding Master Tanto would be amazing. Or Master Tanto mini fixed knife.

Really neat piece of weaponry... I'm still taking a gun though. In the time It takes you to wind up and throw it, even if it's from seven yards, your opponent would have fired at least 2-3 rounds already.

I tend to dislike weapons that have a high chance of backfiring and injuring the user. This means flails, nunchucks, knives with a spike or blade coming out the 'bottom' of the grip, etc. I can make an exception for a sock with marbles in the toe, at least that is cheap, doesn't have spikes, and can be choked up on. This "Torpedo" goes in the same category or weapons that can hurt the user. IF you can nail an object with the point consistently then it's just a throwing spike. But do you see the way it rebounds? This can bounce right off your target and hit you or an innocent bystander. And do a lot of damage. This can do more than take out someone's eye. This can take out their whole skull. And that's a problem.
Furthermore, if you're going to go to the trouble of making this, why not make it out of Tungsten? Steel spikes are boring. Tungsten is more exotic. If the name of the game is momentum then make it out of denser, less bouncy material. It would be far more damaging. It could even be smaller that way. And I don't know that Tungsten would trip a metal detector like steel would. Yes, Tungsten is expensive.... but if you had one of these in Tungsten I might actually consider it. It might be nice if it had some sort of fins or something too or a grip you could use to do a no-spin knife throw. If this thing hits its target on its side, not only will it bounce off and hit who-knows-what, but it's also not going to do much of anything to the target either. There needs to be a way to throw it in a stable, no-spin fashion. Pointy end goes in the other man, didn't you guys watch Zorro?
