Two minutes after getting the knife, I attempted your one-handed lockback method of closing the knife and cut the SHIT outta my first two fingers, because I had them too far up on the handle. It was an epic, bloody fail that required 8 stitches at the ER. So now, whenever I look down at the scars on my fingers I think about Advanced Knife Bro! Thanks for that!

my all time favorite knife is the cold steel recon tanto. Carried the same knife for my entire service and multiple deployments. Thing was indestructible.

Oddly the best CS knife I ever owned was the Rajah 2. Even if the knives were not the best - I found their customer support to be next level good. Though Cold Steel is no longer Cold Steel, I won't ever forget how they treated me when something went wrong.
Fun stuff. I'm guilty of owning too many Cold Steel knives. A few work well and may be worth checking out. The Rajah 2, (big folder ) Marauder, and OSI San Mai both fixed blades with rubbery handle, and ridiculous rubber guards. ✌ 😃

I have a cold steel survival knife, mistakenly purchased from Amazon with a tanto point. I regretted it, but too proud to admit my mistake, I store it proudly somewhere in my basement.
Huge knives were common, multiple-purpose tools when the only firearm carried was a rifle. Blades were up to 12 inches in length. Once the revolver became a commonly carried tool, knife blades decreased to about 6-7 inches in length. This information is according to one of the Blade Annuals (I believe) in the early to mid-90s.
I only own three of the ones that you have in this video. But I own 14 others. And frankly I adore all of them! And truly mourn the two of that I have lost. Great video!
My worst knife injury was from closing a cold steel kudu. nearly lost like 80% of my thumb's pad but luckily the blade was clean and factory sharp so all I needed was superglue and an iron stomach to not throw up looking at the inside of my thumb while cleaning it & now I have a only faint scar and some really raw pictures on my phone

I love mine. Its crazy lock makes it feel like a fixed blade. You can really press on it and cut through almost anything. Good for fine work, random whittling and carving aswell. For a knife so light you can just forget its in your pocket, its perfect.
I was going to comment that I’m not a huge fan of cold steel knives before I realised I have 6 of them, which is almost certainly more than any other brand I still own! Something about wandering around the house with a 6 inch ti-lite in my pocket or using it to open a package just puts a silly smile on my face
I think you’d appreciate the AD10 and 4max because of their very very demko design profile’s and the smooth action they share with the AD15, although it’s more likely just those sneaky Teflon washers hidden by the shiny phosphor bronze washers. Also the Trailboss axe is an incredible value for its almost always on sale price of $21. It’s not outrageous in design or purpose but instead a really well made and functional tool. Unlike the POS kudu which I now have 3 of thanks to SMKW adding them to my order for free. I like to think that they really believe in the kudu and not that they’re sitting on a few hundred of them and haven’t sold a single one.
Someone on the internet from California said that he never felt un-armed with an El Lobo in his pocket so I searched one out. Now I have a fully serrated double recurve instrument of perfect safety. It is protecting my sock drawer because I have no idea what to do with the damn thing. But my kids will throw it out when I die. Great video.

i think the main reason traditional bowies were so large was that you were going to be sharpening this knife constantly and essentially you needed to go out on a long engagement with a chunk of steel to come back with a worn still functional knife
I have several edged weapons by Cold Steel, but the one I handle most is my everyday carry knife. It goes with me everywhere. It is their original "Vaquero", before they made the Vaquero a sub-version of the Voyager, and ruined it. I lost faith in Cold Steel when they discontinued the original Vaquero--- I would have bought several in various sizes, but alas! The Voyager-based version is an abomination. I was lucky to get the last original Vaquero available, but had to settle for serrated. This original Vaquero is based upon the classic navaja, and held next to a medium-sized navaja I have, it exhibits a near identical silhouette. Of course, it is a modern lock back, not ratcheted. I was drawn to this knife because it bears a striking resemblance to the rubber, painted, steer's head festooned toy knives I played with as a child during the 1950s and '60s.

Just got my first cold steel folders last month and im completely in love. Got a Voyager XL Tanto and a Rajah 2. LOVVVVVEE them!!!! Got a Tokyo Spike too. Now i desperately want a Spartan, a Grik, a Marauder, a Talwar, Espada xl, Colossus, recon tanto, a second Voyager XL in Drop point.

Just got my first cold steel folders last month and im completely in love. Got a Voyager XL Tanto and a Rajah 2. LOVVVVVEE them!!!! Got a Tokyo Spike too. Now i desperately want a Spartan, a Grik, a Marauder, a Talwar, Espada xl, Colossus, recon tanto, a second Voyager XL in Drop point.
I had a gi tanto. I traded it for 2 haircuts while i was away... Still one of mt favorites. Hated the sheath.
