    Couldn't find the original part number and didn't know how to proceed. Looked at several other video's and still couldn't figure it out. My TCM is part of the VB on a RE5 Transmission and couldn't find the part number on it. Called the dealer and got the correct number. Follow the instructions on this video and it worked perfect.

    THESE ARE THE BEST STEP BY STEP VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN ON AUTOMOTIVE MODULE AND KEY PROGRAMMING ON YOU TUBE PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING . I HAVE ONE QUESTION SO FAR..., COULD YOU TELL ME THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CODING AND PROGRAMMING AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I NEED A SCANTOOL AND A PASSTHROUGH TO DO MODULES AND KEYS THANK YOU VERY MUCH .

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety +1

      8power0 the arent much differences between coding and programming. Coding is mostly found in European cars. It's basically a different way to program a new module. A large amount of coding however can be done with a scan tool. Its basically inputting information into a module to configure it to a car. Programming is more for American and Asian vehicles . It often involves linking the car to an online server through the OEM website and having the information automatically installed through the software using a j2534 pass thru or factory interface. It really depends on the vehicle if you want exact specifics. Every manufacturer has their own way to replace or upgrade software in their computers. Some modules require the vehicle vin number programmed in some don't making used modules either a good or bad option. Honestly the best approach to becoming able to do any car is to just learn every manufacturer's procedures. I'm trying to get a video up for every manufacturer as I get the chance to video them so you can learn the basics or where to start with each one.

      Thank you so much for your most insightful reply , now if i only know if honda, nissan and chevrolet in the case of having to replace a module pcm or bcm and program a key would work to just rewrite the the vin to there modules then i can start focusing on what scantools to buy for those car lines .

    Hey Jack Meyers, thank you for providing so much info. I need your opinion. Our shop has the Drewtech Cardaq M for J2534. It is the most frustrating and time wasting tool that I have ever used. Problems with Java and other programs not working together. The success rate is very low with this tool. I found this video because I replaced the ECM in an Infinity QX56 and I tried to update to the latest program. Turns out the NERS software was at fault. Anywho, in your opinion, would the Bosch VCI be any less frustrating and/or more reliable? I know Drewtech is a great company and their tech support tries very hard, but I can't afford to waste anymore time on this. Please let me know what you think. I really appreciate it.

    Blank programming is to put codes into a blank new TCM (or ECU, etc) from nissan. Reprogramming is wipe clean a used TCM and put new codes in, right? Calibration file is the coding, not any specific for some sort of gear shifting calibration? Then the first 5 characters of the part number is the hardware, last 5 is the coding? As long as I match up the hardware 5 characters (from junk yard), I can load any coding (by buying the calibration files) I want to? And... writing the VIN on the TCM is another procedure that is NOT related to the calibration file programming but it can also be done by NERS? NERS 4.00 needs login before executing the programming. Can I sign up for a login but not pay for that $270 NERS price? Or I need to find some older version that doesn't need login?

    Just wondering if you have had any issues with this. We are programing a blank TCM for a 2008 Pathfinder, using a CarDAQ Plus. We have the NERS software. The programming worked but will not configure. Error says cannot find config files.Have tried many times and downloaded file again. Nissan's response is that I need the Consult III Software. Any ideas?

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 4 lety

      You do not need the consult. Nissan rwd are especially a pain . What version or ners are you using. More then likely its the wrong file you're using. The reason you're having trouble is either the version on ners or most likely the part number ids not correct and the files you have downloaded are incorrect. Nissan makes it difficult to find the right file. If there tcm was new there will be a different part number on the box then inside the actual valve body/tcm and then on their website another different number. If you would like to email me the vin and part number you used for the tcm when you got the file and I'll find out if that's the case. Meyersjj76@gmail.com

      You can look it up but usually there will be a problem that leads you to the software update. For instance the 2010 altima is known to start throwing codes for the maf sensor out of nowhere. Changing the sensor, smoke testing the intake for leaks, continuity testing the wires won't fix it but a quick tsb search and you will find an update for that specific code.

      James Svetlovics. The nissans aren't all that bad 85 percent of the time. Lol
      I just use a small 20 amp Schumacher charger that was $38. Some people may rip me for that but there are very few vehicles that actually look for a particular voltage while flashing and if your battery stays above 12v you will never have problems. I have an expensive maintainer and rarely use it. I've been doing this a long time and never bricked a module that I couldn't recover. I have worked at a couple dealerships in the past and everyone used to just throw a charger on em. Sometimes I'll be stuck way back in a lot and I'll just let the car run for about 10 minutes prior to flashing then throw my jump box on it. Turn off the dome and auto headlights and flash them with no charge at all.

      Jack Meyers, hello, I have a question in reference to the MS906BT. I purchased mine via Amazon and come to find out it had been registered then returned by an individual who discovered that the unit was a "Chinese" version. How can I ensure this does not happen again and what is the difference in a USA version and the Chinese version. I found out when went to register the device. Any input would be welcome and where do you suggest that I purchase from?

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety +1

      thebigvol all the bts are what they call chinese version. A lot of other autels are as well. The only difference is it has the chinese vehicles installed along with us asian and euros. You just disable/uninstall them
      I have diagnosed/ programmed over 1900 vehicles in the us with mine over the past year with zero issues. It being registered by someone else is a huge problem though. That should have never happened. Sometimes people buy stuff on amazon and return it within the 30 days as new and i think amazon just puts it back into inventory. If there's one thing you don't want is to have to deal with autel on a registration issue. Only good thing is amazon pays for return shipping and midday of the time you have upgr money back in a day.Also. just an fyi the vci on my so called chinese version bt quit working about a month . i called autel usa
      . They gave me a service number i sent it in and since i had 2 weeks left on my warranty it got replaced. They are actually really good to deal with. I had to leave a call back number but they called me back within an hour. I was happy with their service. He did waste an hour of my time trying to troubleshoot it before giving me a service number even though i knew it was a hardware issue and told him that it wasnt reading voltage on any vehicle. None the less the stories about chinese versions not being serviceable at least for me are a myth.

      Matt and Jade know Everything its a little more tricky on the older lexus. I believe 2000 and older can't be accessed thruough the obd port. There's a simple peocedure to add a key but if you lost all keys it gets a lot harder. I think ill make a how to video asap on that. I have a bunch of the immo units just laying around and some transponder keys .

    I have a question for you. I have the pass thru pro II from SNAP-ON. Its the same unit as the Cardaq-Plus from Drew Technology. I can connect it just fine with NERS, but Consult III Plus can't detect it. Do you know if for Consult III Plus to work, is it required to use the original Nissan Vi2 Interface?

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety

      Pablo Hernández it will work but you have to edit the registry for the program to make it recognize the pass thru pro 2 . .ive used the pass thru pro 2 many times with consult. The only problem you will have is it will never show ignition on in consult. Doesn't matter though every feature works just fine. Let me see if I can put toget a quick walk through for you on how to do it.

    • @P_double_H
      @P_double_H Před 6 lety +1

      I would really appreciate it if you can do a video on how to edit the registry. Really helpful for me as all of my cars are Nissan....

    • @P_double_H
      @P_double_H Před 6 lety

      Hey Jack, when you have some spare time, can you take a minute to reply with what do I need to do to Consult III Plus for it to recognize the PTP2. I read the DiagnosticTool.ini file needs to be edited. But I don't really know what to put in there. I would love to play a little but with consult III Plus. Also, I'm not sure if it might help you, but I have Reprogramming Data for for Consult III Plus v71.40. yesterday, I was looking inside the ReproProgramming folder and there is where all the .dat files end up. I double checked and the same file I purchased from Nissan for the Rogue was already there. also the CSV file was in there too... Anyway, let me know if you don't have that and I'll be more than happy to send it to you.

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety

      Pablo Hernández .that would help me out a lot. I don't have the programming data. Just consult 3. If I could get that it would be awesome. I'm working on a video to show you how to setup the consult. Mine is set up for the Bosch but I'm going back through the steps to change it to my cardaq . I'll get it up as soon as possible

    Why no one talks about it requires a dealer log in at the end before flashing a tcm or anything , we not a Nissan dealer how we gonna flash we got everything and still can’t flash cause it requires a user log in at the end

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 5 lety +1

      No login needed at all to flash programm. Only to buy and download the files. But you don't need to be a dealer or even a business for that matter. Just sign up at nissanusa for free and the files are $19 for each car.

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 5 lety

      Also download and save the files you purchase . label them in a folder. You can use them on as many cars as needed.

    What is the difference between Programming and Reprograming?

    • @P_double_H
      @P_double_H Před 6 lety

      Sorry, at the end of your video I could see the difference was whether you buy a Blank module (Programming), or you re install the files to the original module (Reprogramming). Thanks for the video!

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety

      Pablo Hernández also nissan updates their part numbers over time. Reprogramming will give you calibrations not available for new modules. For instance I did a rogue the other day and couldn't find the calibrations under programming because the part number had a new revision. When I went to reprogramming they were there and I got it done when though it was a brand new pcm . Strange the way they do things but if you're patient you can always get them done.

    • @P_double_H
      @P_double_H Před 6 lety

      I'm glad you mentioned the Rogue issue. I'm just now trying to program my mother's 2017 Nissan Rogue SL blank ECM, and Nissan tech won't find the part number: 23703-4BA1A what do you do when the part number doesn't show up neither on Programming nor on Reprogramming? I have the original ECM but it doesn't say the original part number anywhere. Do you know if the part numbers should match? Or does the blank ECM have a different number?
      Sorry for the questioning, but this Rogue is braking my brain in half...

    • @jackmeyers2911
      @jackmeyers2911  Před 6 lety

      Pablo Hernández I'll find you the calibration. I always use my scanner and check the ECU info on the old one first. A lot of times that will be the number you're looking for.

    • @P_double_H
      @P_double_H Před 6 lety

      I thought about that, problem is the original ECM is broken (car had front crash and the ECM was damaged/cracked). That is actually the reason we are replacing it. The part number is not attached/labeled to the ECMs in this car.

      I have a cardaq plus 2 but honestly I prefer my Bosch mastertech. I don't why I like it so much. Maybe because it works perfect, never gives me any trouble and it's really small and lightweight. The cardaq does let me use the j2534 toolbox to rest Chrysler vins and skim but I usually do that with my autel because I can run a quick dtc scan right aftert . We all have our own preferences and you are correct. Anything cardaq is awesome
