#thelifeandsadending #toystory #ernest Mini bio ot the life of actor Jim Varney. He is most famous for playing Ernest P. Worrell in the "Ernest" movies.
I thought it was interesting how Jim did anti-smoking ads and he smoked himself Thank you for this video speaking for myself and other 41 year olds: he was part of my childhood and will never be forgotten. I won't forget his zany Saturday morning show! Jim Varney might be dead, but Ernest P. Worrell lives forever!
I wondered about him over the years, but never googled. I thought he was hilarious. And I loved it that he was a Shakespearean actor. Comedy is hard. Studying the classics makes you better.
Jeff clampett said Weee doggies. I have Ernest scared stupid on DVD and my Uncles turned me onto Hey Vern, its Ernest on Saturday morning cartoons. Man, I miss him and I didn't know that he passed away until 7 YEARS AGO and wondered what happened to him all these YEARS. I can tell that he was a really good guy especially how I would hear stories about his skits at the Atlanta braves games 35 YEARS AGO. Rest in Peace, Jim Varney.....🙏🕊️
He also was in a short lived Saturday morning children's TV series called "Hey Vern, it's Ernest" that was shown on the CBS TV network in the Fall of 1988, and later rerun on The Family Channel during the early 1990's. He also appeared in a syndicated TV special "Hey Vern, it's My Family Album" during the time he did the commercials. He was very versatile. By the way, Jed Clampett said "Whew (pronounced woo) Doggies!" on The Beverly Hillbillies during it's nine season run on CBS. The film version of the TV series was pretty good. The film featured a Buddy Ebsen cameo as his later CBS TV show character "Barnaby Jones".
Jim also did a couple of seasons of theater at The Pioneer Playhouse in Danville KY. Colonel Henson said he was one of the most talented actors he ever worked with. It's a shame he got stereotyped as a country rube. He could do just about anything. But didn't get nationally recognized for it.
My family and I watch "Scared Stupid" around Halloween each year. Ernest- Jim was very funny. Who was Vern, I wonder? I'd say Jed Clampett said "Weeeeeeellll - doggies!"
I know. I didn't realize he was that young when he passed. He seemed ancient to me during his last couple movies, and now I know how young he really was.

I never heard a bad word about Jim Varney. It's a shame that we lost him so young.

Rod Serling also died at age 50 in 1975. Not from cancer, but as a result of years of heavy smoking.
