Not impossible - just tricky. NEEDS Win 7 (can be made to run on 10 but thats even trickier) and needs sufficient disk space. If you have a good install of Win 7 Pro it's not so difficult.

Thank you for this very interesting video. I was interested in the possibility offered by the service mode of the PBM to change the brake pads (explained from 07:05 of the video). I bought the equipment for my V40 D2 but unfortunately, this car doesn't have the PBM module :(. On the other hand, with the BCM module, it's possible to interact on an individual brake piston with inlet/outlet valves and on the master cylinder. Could a geek tell me if it is possible to use these features to facilitate the change of brake pads wheel by wheel ? Thanks in advance for your tips.

Hi I've just bought one of these to help with a low fuel pressure issue. But when it's plugged in it doesn't rad vin or engine number. Just wondered if you had any ideas?
Sir i was wondering since I have a 2006 v50 and I've added front fog lights because it was pre wired and i replaced the light switch box to the incl button dedicated for this front fog light. Still the button would not activate, I was then told I need to have software upgraded also for this feature to work. So my question is will the vida dice clone and software activate it permanently, or temporary for diagnostic purposes only? Sry if I'm being confusing with my question, hope u understand. Thanks!

Hey, I picked up some OEM fog lights at the local junk yard for my ‘05 S40. Will Vida Dice be able to “activate” these?? What about software? Dealer wants $189 plus $89 software purchase.

A question. Id Dice specific to the model and year? Vida only reads FT232R USB VART when the dice is plugged into the usb port. I have a steady red light on the firmware section of dice. Any help would be appreciated

There are several sellers on ebay, as long as they have good reviews you should be fine. There isn't a store to buy the hardware from as it is a Chinese ripoff, the real hardware would cost a fortune from Volvo as it is intended for dealer shops.

To fix this, make sure you use IE8 and Net Framework 2.0. your PC may have later versions installed.

I'd like to know if with this device is it possible to make unavailable configs to be available, I'll explain: my Volvo C30 (2007) does have power door mirrors, which can be folded/unfolded pressing the button.
The 2009 model has the option of "Automatic folding", which says: When the vehicle is locked/unlocked with the remote control or with the optional keyless, the power door mirrors with automatically fold in or out. This function can be activated/deactivated in Personal settings. In the menu system, go to Car settings Fold mirr. when locking.
My question is, is it possible to enable this option in my 2007 C30 with the DICE system? At the moment, this option does not appear in the menu.

macromaker No way to know without connecting the software and testing, I don't have a C30 available. My guess would be no, as there is probably a different version of the software running on the new car which enables the option.

I have a DICE unit and Volvo vida 2014D, I select off in the seatbelt warning options and click on the programming button but nothing happens, my car continues yelling at me if I don't have the seatbelt fasten.
Do you know what I am doing wrong?
With the system I've been able to read fault codes, to move certain actuators, but it can't switch off this warnings...

Just use your seatbelt if you curl your car around a tree with no seatbelt on you will be thrown around as if you are in a blender the crash won't kill you, but the airbags will

Vida dice is designed for Volvos made prior to 2016. I think 2015 is the latest. After this they introduced a new system. Try Vdash but may not get all functionality as it’s Volvos newest software.

The DDM It doesn't work at all. The left rear door is completely locked. I can only open the windows with the key. I checked all the fuses and cables. Nothing...

I am pretty sure you can, funny enough the dealer told me that it can be replaced (of course) for a shit load of money with out knowing the diagnostic.
Get one of the dice and install it on your PC or laptop and have a play with it a world will open up for you

Does the engine have to be running to diagnose or does it work with all the systems running but before turning on the engine?
The engine does not have to be running, but the ignition needs to be in the on position (not just the normal accessory on, by fully on). From personal experience, this will drain your battery really fast if you don't have the engine running.
My car is been sitting for 2 years due to NO crank NO start and the dealer saying CEM is bad /key not stored in CEM is there a way to reprogram my keys using Vida dice?

No, you need only turn on computer, so you have to set key on ignition position and you're in...

Using this software is the official way to do it. There are work-arounds to release the parking break without this software. For example, you can manually connect 12 volts to the motor and get it to back off the brake. The Volvo forums have different options people have used.
I have a V60 2014 D4 and I plug DICE in, load up VIDA, and it read and finds the car etc.
I can go to diagnostics and update, and it reads everything.
But it says fault on engine, gearbox etc. When I click on fault trace VIDA becomes unresponsive and doesnt show anything.
Any ideas why this could be?

Nevermind, it started working when I went to some other tabs like "network" before going to "fault trace".

Hi, u can buy it via chineese shop, ie ebay,alliexpres, etc... But remeber - Vida needsWindows 7 Professional 32 or 64 bit and you have to install it on C drive, so you need 30GB of free space on this partition. I tried install on Windows 7 Home Premium and installation returned an error... On Windows 10 probably doesn't work too.
Pawel P I'm not positive about this but my guess would be if you right clicked on setup and chose run as administrator. it might work with the home version of win7. There is also a command you can run that will enable the the administrator account.
I bought it today, fully installed on a DELL laptop on swedespeed forums, $180.
Bought the DICE interface $90) from Amazon and just plugged it in, it works.
Runs in win7Pro.

Go to control panel, program, turn on off program features, unclick internet explorer 11, then go to installed updates, uninstall IE11. Restart. Now it should be IE8. And your problem should be solved
The "erase all" codes made my codes dissapear however after a few seconds of clicking continue, all of the codes appear back again.
That will be because the faults are live and recurring.
It's a permanent/hard code meaning it won't go away until repairs are done. Be glad, you know that your device is functioning properly and codes are coming back.
