@Justin Pettett the sentiment is what counts mate. They are truly great professionals and it's an honour to have them sponsor me
Wow yours is the best of the lot on the community website, and some stiff competition there to say the least....you should be proud bravo!
Thanks
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thanks for uploading this tutorial. I will steal this with my crappy skill. This is the single most stunning Avatar (old, new and forge world) i have ever seen. Truly stunning. Its truly... fire... badumm tsss! I see myself out.
Thanks đ
I've said it once, and I say it again, yours is the best rendition of the Avatar among all the entries in the WarCom article, even beating the truly impressive works of Darren and Mirko. Simply amazing stuff! Thanks for allowing us a glimpse at how you did it!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the kind words
agree 100%!!
I also thought your entry was the best!!!
The Lord of contrast knocked it out the park this time! Amazing work đź
Thanks
Absolutely stunning. Probably my favorite painted mini from your channel.
Thanks đ
Stunning paint job mate, best seen so far!
Thanks âșïž
wow. this is actually the best rendition I've seen, including the box art.
Thanks
Stunning! The armour looks every bit as terrific as the body.
Thanks
Absolutely beautiful!!
Thanks
Juan, after Jain Zar I had massive hopes for this, and was not disappointed! Just in awe man. Like the others, have said yours is my standout fave of any interpretation, including the box art.
Thanks đ
I think yours was my favourite paint job out of the Ines gw showed so I canât wait to watch this!
Thanks đ
Man I just love the comedy on this channel. Its always out of left field which just makes it so funny. Come for the amazing tutorials, stay for the laughs
Thanks, I REALLY appreciate that
Best avatar seen on warhammer community for now. It seems so easy when i see you painting! Thx
It's genuinely easy, there's no complicated techniques there
Its immagnificent!
Bravo Juan, its perfect đđ»
Thanks
Wow! Fantastic work.
Thanks
looks amazing! great work sir
Thanks
The subtle fire glow on the black cloth looks amaaazing! Can't wait for the next video Juan!
Thanks âșïž
Fantastic video as usual! You make it look so easy. Thank you for sharing.
It's genuinely not difficult to make, there's no blending, no difficult or precise techniques, just understanding how heat works
Outstanding looking!
Thanks
Watching this live with you is such a pleasure congrats on another masterpiece good sir
Thanks mate, I have so much fun with the chat
Awesome work, Juan, very inspiring.
Thanks
Those flames are beautifully convincing and the process is so well explained, I ought to be able to do that, stunning
Thanks
Wow, insane! Absolutely wonderful colors and techniques for this stunning miniature! The best of the best
Thanks
Amazing result. You've made tackling a difficult subject look easy and achievable for us mortalsđ
Thanks, I always try to do that, it's the main objective of my videos
Beautiful paintjob! Bravo!
Thanks
Congrats on getting featured on Warhammer Community page. I have to say yours was definitely the stand out of the bunch. Incredibly well executed.
Thanks
Don Hidalgo. Your work is incredible, thank you for sharing your skill and tutorials with us pleebs!
đ
Happy to help đ
This is amazing, man. Fantastic job on the Avatar. I am adding this to one of my go-to videos for the fiery lava effect, alongside Duncan. This is on that level.
VIEWS FOR THE VIEWS GOD
Super beautiful!
Thanks
Really nailed those flame effects. Love it
Thanks
This avatar was the model that made me look up your name, and find your amazing tutorials. Your Tanith one is going to help me so much, I dreaded making those special models look good enough. Especially since Mkoll is my favourite of them.
Thanks I really appreciate that. Welcome to the channel
Fantastic work! I really appreciated the zoom in.
It's something I've been doing lately and I think it's fantastic
Looks fantastic
Thanks
I just saw your Avatar in the Warhammer Community page. Great job!
Thanks
Lovely work, and really interesting to watch you paint it.
Thanks
This was exquisite work maestro! đ
Thanks đ
I know I haven't been around as much watching videos and leaving comments. I hope things are going well for you, my friend.
This is straight up wonderful, definitely gonna link it to my hobby buddies.
Thanks âșïž much appreciated
Aye, I said it before and you continue to prove it. Not only are you an expert painter and artist, but you are a sublime teacher. Excellent vid, easy to follow and removed alot of angst that comes with a mini this size.
Thanks âșïž that really means a lot
Thank you , Juan .
đș
đ
And decision to wait to watch this until I was done/mostly done the other projects I had on the go was definitely the right choice - mini I plan to do this paint scheme on moves up the list to "start right now!". The fact that you didn't record every part of the paint job because you were so excited to paint it makes this video even better because you can 'feel' the passion you have for this mini and put into the paint job.
Thanks mate đ
Muy muy guapo Juan!! La intro tremenda también jajaja.
Gracias đ
I love how well you show and explain what you do...this technique will work just as well on magma bases...đ
Yes it will! And thanks
My God, that flaming body looks spectacular.
Thanks
YouÂŽre no more from this world. Your level has rocketed to Super Saiyan and beyond. I'm speechless. I bow to your mastery and talent.
Gracias guapo đ
Finally someone who shows how Martin BangDoll Grandbarbe did his 2011 entry for the french Golden Demon. I wanted to do one like this for quite a while, but was a bit unsure how to do it. Grat work, yours turned out phenomenally. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks much appreciated, his piece was an inspiration for sure
Being toe by toe with the gods of miniature painting and even surpassing them makes you also a god? I'm quite sure that yes. I don't know what are your feelings right now, but proudness could be one of them. Superb job.
I'm very proud, not going to lie
Awesome Job!
Thanks
absolutely amazing
Thanks
LOOKS SO GODDAMN GOOD
Thanks
Truly the best one I've seen
Thanks
Absolutely amazing !
Thanks
Simply spectacular, Juan! Painting anything incandescent is very difficult and it looks terrible until when it all comes together in the last steps. Also love the reflections specially on the cloth, totally sells the effect. And those metallics look very interesting. It's difficult to integrate TMM sometimes because it looks a bit out of place if you just leave them in their original colour, so those reddish tones are a great choice.
Amazing job, can't stop looking at it!
Thanks, yeah very light metallics are a bigger issue because OSL looks like crap over them (same reason I went for a black and not white cloth) but I'm very happy with the recipe I used and how it all integrates together
Thanks for the amazing content =) as always a true gentleman
Thanks đ
Incredible job mate, the subtle OSL really sells the feeling of heat coming off the model. I especially love the blackened burnt effects of the base where the Avatar's feet are placed. You're effort painting this really shows đđđ
Thanks! I really appreciate it
You're welcome Juan. Well deserved
That looks amazing!! I bought a Balrog model off Etsy so I'll definitely be using this video as a reference for his fiery skin. It's huge! It's going to take ages without an airbrush. Oh lordy!!
Yeah it's not difficult but it's tedious for sure
Amazing mate
Thanks
Stunning! The stippling really makes it look more lava-esque :)
Yeah smoothness is overrated, nature is rarely smooth.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Agreed! I might try this on a dwarf's beard :D
Daaaamn Juan you've outdone yourself a lot :D This is incredible video and very detailed. I don't think I've ever seen that good tutorial on painting molten pieces or flames, now it makes sense a lot :D
Thanks mate đ
Came here via the Warhammer Community post. Glad I did. What a masterpiece. Just incredible.
Thanks
Incredible!
Thanks
looks amazing! absolutely fantastic paint scheme
Thanks
Beautiful paint job Juan, cant wait to get my hands on this (but must finish craftworld and quins first!)
Thanks mate đ
I am keen as a bean!
YEAH
The Intro alone kills me. So hot. Stunning paintjob. Absolute beautiful
Thanks mate đ
Beautifully done, love the green you added in the ruins to, to give it all a compliment ;)
I did my molten lava like this earlier to but you did it some what different wich i will now try actually, thanks for the tips! :D
Happy to help đ
Enhorabuena por el resultado, increĂble. I have no doubts this is my favorite painted Avatar yet. As you I'm waiting for that mini since 2004 when I first jump into 40k, don't know why but I ever loved the Avatar of Khaine since my first play on dawn of war haha can't wait to have my own and try to follow your tutorial.
Gracias guapo đ
Ouuu! I'm so excited about it!
YEAH
Nuevos en el canal. Una pasada Juan đđđđ muchĂsimas gracias por tu trabajo y enseñarnos đ€ đ
Bienvenidos y gracias đ
you know its serious when Juan breaks out the vallejo paints..
beautiful model Juan! so happy you got the warcom feature!
Thanks mate, I generally use a mix of brands and in this particular case the HORRENDOUS coverage of the Orange and Red is an asset not a flaw
Best Avatar of Khaine I've seen so far
Thanks
Going to keep this guide saved for when I want to do molten swords.
Awesome!
VIEWS FOR THE VIEWS GOD
Spectacular as always, Juan! Iâd love to see a few tutorials from you using âregularâ paints, or mixes of acrylic, oils and contrast all together. The look on the leg armour is amazing, and that doesnât look like a âeavy contrast paintjob!
Oh no, as I said in the video you have a complete guide on the paints used in the description but it's essentially the same paint used in the body (minus fluors) but inverted
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures oh yeah I saw that, I meant for the future. You know, I wouldnât ever be mad if I saw more videos stepping outside of the âeavy contrast format :)
I've always done what I feel like it so for sure that will happen
Definitely the best one
Thanks
You're the absolute best đȘđžđâ€
I KNOW!
Such a great paint job was great to see your stuff alongside legends like Darren Latham on the warhammer official site. Looking forward to the video, although itâs going to cost me because now I need to buy the avatar as well!
DO IT!
Gracias por este increĂble tutorial.
Gracias a ti por verlo guapo đ
Absolutely incredible Juan! Are you planning on another video for the rest of the model?
Maybe in the future, I'm thinking about it.
Good stuff.
Thanks
Best Avatar paintjob i have ever seen, no matter if we are talking old Avatar, Forgeworld Avatar, Proxy Avatar or new Avatar! Best by far. Captures what GW's idea was, but infinately better than theirs
Thanks mate đ
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Nah, thank YOU for the tutorial that i will copy like a diligent chinese! đ€Ł
Magnificent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Fun intro!
Thanks âșïž
Pre-emptive like, can't wait :)
đ
So weird to hear about Lincoln! Hardly anyone knows where it is outside of the county! I'll keep it in mind when we move in the future! Also great paint job!
Thanks
Magnifico tutorial Juan, me estoy planteando pillarme esta mini por el placer de pintarla y por que me parece todo un desafio pintar fuego y llamas
Es una pasada para pintar, muy recomendable
I gave the thumbs up when the shirt came off
NICE
Que ganas de conseguir esta mini y pintarla siguiendo tus pasos. 10/10
Genial, es un miniaturon
I wish you had a warning for your cold open because morning coffee is now all over my living room. -Adam
đđđđ gotta be prepared with my videos mate
Amazing
Thanks
No necesito ver como le pintas, solo con las fotos se ve brutal, precioso a la vista!!
Gracias
Great thing is we can watch it loads of times before the figure arrives. It looks stunning. Anyone translated the Aeldari text below - Does it say "Let's get cracking?"
Lol, no it's just random letters. What s missed opportunity
Of course it does!
This is super hot...đđ
El mejor avatar que he visto hasta ahora con diferencia, me ha encantado la piel que seguro que encuentro una mini en la que probarlo y el fuego mola tambiĂ©n. Top5 de tus vĂdeos fijo para mi, igual incluso top3. Me flipa!
Holy flaming God of War! So good!
Thanks
wow, just wow
Thanks
Awesome job! Any chance we're gonna see a Grotesque or a Wrack model some time soon? Would love to see your take on it!
Maybe, I don't discard it at all
I'm always excited for new Eldar. I'm hesitant in buying this guy, I'm just a noob
You will never stop being a noob of you don't challenge yourself
Beautiful model, the paint job is stunning! Truly brought him to life through an incredibly executed colour scheme.
One thing I would make an attempt at fixing if I were you, is tying the flames to the base a little more. I'd try to paint cinders or signs of burn marks and dying embers around the flames, giving them a more realistic and synergetic bond with the terrain. At the moment they look a little out of place, to me at least.
Thanks, that's not a bad idea actually, but sometimes you have to take shortcuts when you work against a deadline
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Job freakin well done either way!
Hello Juan awesome video as always what a mini I don't like Eldar/dark Eldar and what's associated to it but this is epic I will be getting one when it's available did you do any filming of the armour at all please as it looks amazing
No, but as I said in the video, there's a complete guide explained step by step in the description and pinned comment
Aha!!!! Missed that bit lol cheers đ
Happy to help
Gorgeous model mate, hopefully you really appreciate how highly this model is being talked about.
Donât suppose youâve ever thought of trying to do Craftworld Mymeara? It seems really tricky but considering what you did here Iâm sure youâd blitz it.
Maybe I will try at some point. Thanks
@JuanHidalgo Miniatures I recieved my Avatar and I'll proceed to paint him. I don't have the sunny skintone due to DLS sending issues so I have a question: you said is needed but if you don't have it what other paint or mix you recoment to match sunny skintone? Thanks for the tutorial
Sorry but I haven't found a good substitute or mix. Maybe something like Ungor Flesh would be in the same ballpark
Wouahhh merci beaucoup
De rien!!!
Avec plaisir
