Yeah , the marketing sucks for sure. But I don`t think it is really aimed at us.
Meta want to promote VR to the "casual" market which they see as being the easiest to monetize for the least cost (that is basically what the Metaverse is from a corporate point of view)
These are people that play games occasionally have short attention spans and really don`t want in depth/complex games. They are more likely to buy into microtransactions / accept "games as a service model" , quantity over quality , fall for gimmicks etc.
They don`t really want "hardcore" gamers
    - We expect games to have a level of depth, and quality that requires AAA budgets and even then success is not a guarantee.
    - Ultimately they know that the sort of experiences possible on standalone are never going to be good enough to satisfy us long term. At best they introduce people to VR that quickly get bored/frustrated by the limitations and move on to PSVR2/PC or decide VR it is too expensive or not really good enough yet.

Agree 100%. As a quest 2 owner I’ve been really pissed at META for drifting away from VR gaming and more towards AR productivity. That is why I’m moving over to PlayStation. I have a Mac Mini M1 computer, an iPad and iPhone. I don’t need or want a Windows🤮 Surface Pro🤮🤮🤮 when I put on a VR headset.

    that's not an opinion, that's a *fact*
I just played the first 30 minutes of HLA and 3:13 is also facts, it's one of the first time in over a YEAR I actually felt immersed in a VR game

My pc is i7 13th gen with a 4090. Are there any VR headsets you recommend? I want quality and performance.

So basically you don't agree with Meta's target audience. They're not interested in promoting to people who play Onward and Pavlov, they are targeting soccer moms and little league dads. They don't want to make VR into the next PlayStation, they want to make it into the next iPhone.

      Never gonna happen.

@@herb-mq2oy I agree. But that's what they're attempting, and why their marketing is what it is,
