    My grandfather has one of these tractors. I love running it and hearing the turbo whine.

    These are a great tractor. I have spent many hours driving one.
    And many hours working on those 354 engines. There is absolutly no need to precrank the engine for oil pressure. Your only decaying the batteries and warming the starter and terminals. There is always residual oil in that line, even if it hasnt run for a long while.

    One thing I can add about that Perkins 354 diesel in that tractor is that in my opinion that’s the best tractor engine ever made yours looks in great shape and it’s definitely a good idea to have it serviced and take care of FYI those fan belts are a real pain to change I can see why you want to have somebody else do it

    I have owned an 1135 for 30 years. It is one of the best tractors Massey built. I also have older Ford’s and I like them a little better. I like everything about the massey except the torque of the Perkins. Fords have way more torque and lugging ability

    Subscribed! Love seeing the big Masseys still being put to work. I have a little 150 diesel that’s been in the family since it was new and I wouldn’t trade it for the world

      2020jd - Thx, I believe our model MF 50 diesel is the predecessor to your 150, which IMHO is a fine tractor.

    Another sweet M-F! what happens with turbo oil line is condensation builds up inside the line when they are not running and they rust from the inside if You can see where the oil drains out (tube) it is twice as big, there is so much pressure on the inlet line than the drain line because a high volume oil needed for the turbo ,between the heat & pressure on the inlet line it wears the metal (fatigue) and creates a stress cracks. I only know this because I have 65 Corvair with a 180 turbo and it does not get used allot and sure enough if you pull the line (inlet) you can see the rust forming inside, all because the oil drains out when engine is not running hope this made sense. it is something you need check once in awhile.

    i have a Massey 65 diesel with 12,000 original hours on it my grandfather bought it new and now its mine. i used it last yr bushhogging and fuel was in the oil and oil was leaking out of the injectors. and there so much blow by that it pushes the dip stick out lol. i think its time for a rebuild lol

      powerram92 - IMHO the MF 65 was/is a good tractor. We have a MF 50 diesel. Rebuild shouldn’t be to bad. Thx for watching.

      Power ram92 your 65 Massey has paid for itself many times, 12,000 hrs. She deserves a little pampering rebuild. Yes a 65 Massey Ferguson is one of the best tractors Massey ever built.

    Great looking tractor. I have one and like it a lot. I can't afford nor want any modern tractors. To much money and electronics.

    Why do you need to have the valves adjusted on the engine

    • @HumbleHaymakers
      @HumbleHaymakers  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks - per the manual it is a 500 hr service, probably nobody does it at that interval, but this tractor has a tick over 4,800 hrs and I figure while I'm getting the injectors serviced, might as well as check/adjust the valves.

      JHJ-Farm yeah you’re right almost nobody does it a lot of times after an engine rebuild people readjust the valves after a certain number of hours mine has over 10,000 hours on it yours looks in really good shape so that makes sense it’s got about half the hours what are you having done to the injectors and I’m curious if they’re going to pop out of there easier that same engine that’s on my white and I’ve never messed with the injectors on the white or the 1105 I just want to have a have them all cleaned and tested well I’m gonna take the engine out

    • @HumbleHaymakers
      @HumbleHaymakers  Před 4 lety +1

      I don’t know yet how hard the injectors are to take out - yet. I’ve got a mechanic doing the work and a few other things. For me - this kind of falls under the do what I’m good at, get paid and pay someone to do what they’re good at. I feel that I have a really good tractor, so I want someone that knows what their doing and that ain’t me...LOL. Thx!
