Boy oh boy, that is some nice weather you just talked about, love doing hay in those conditions. Yes sir, I agree with you the Massey Ferguson 1105 and the Krone 2801cv makes a great working pair. I've never ran a flail, but a lot of folks have said they do a nice job, my sons is a discbine with rollers, one metal and one rubber. Nice video, I like what your doing there, good luck with the rest of the hay. Thanks and I hope you have a nice day!
Thanks!
Looks great have a good day.
Wow, that’s some impressive dry-down from the conditioner and no other workings! Nice to see you knocking down the other batches, that’s likewise impressive!
Thanks!
Believe it or not but cutting hay with a sickle bar leaves nearly 70% more nutrients in the hay than a haybine or discbine because it doesn't crack the stems or leaves allowing the nutrients to seep out or dry up and the nutrients also keep making there way into the leaves as it's drying..
Does that mod 100 loader fit the 200 series massey ferguson tractors like the 255
Don’t know.
Thanks. I may add that a drum mower also does an exceptional job cutting. However, downside is the cut grass/alfalfa still needs to be crimped.
Where did you get that chute
Amazon
I have a 1961 Massey Ferguson 35 diesel and just picked up a Massey Ferguson 32 sickle mower from a guy down the road. Can’t wait to drop some hay with it!
what does land sell for there per acre?
I really enjoyed your video. Mine is 122, 102,122 and 1250. J.D.314 and 316. Also an lp 300,f30 and f12 on steel.
Thanks!
Nice ride-along! I'd love to try a Massey of that caliber someday. Glad you didn't find a fawn (the hard way or otherwise) - I know we've talked about that plenty. Glad to learn more about the mixed grass vs straight variety hay game in your region. Around here, unless it's a dairy carefully cultivating (and chopping) something, it's almost all mixed grass. Granted, we're a net hay importer here in MA (at least for small squares), so a well managed mixed grass hay seemingly sells itself. Maybe the chip we're tossed for our crazy weather 😅. Thanks for sharing, as always!
Thanks!
Hay field looks pretty good. Hay making is at a standstill here. Haven’t been able to string three nice days together in the past three weeks.
Thanks! Bone dry here, no rain for weeks and none on the 10 day forecast.
Looks like great mixed hay for cattle!
I agree with you on the hay, something to be said about a mixed grass that's good and bad, also that a field of timothy is a special hay that a fellow can get good prices from. The MF 1105 and the Krone 2801cv work great as a team, does an outstanding job, good luck with it. Have a good evening!
Thanks!
Looks like you have your hands and barn full.
Thanks!
Looks nice, its all good when you dont have hay, I would take it.
Thanks!
My 7 year old son saw our sickle mower and asked if we can cut our own meadows with it. It’s in good condition, just needs sharpening. Hopefully we get the weather and he can see how it usta be done. He’s been inspired by your video and others like it on utube. Thanks for the video and keeping some of the old ways alive
Love watching that Massey work with the beautiful views in the background!
Thanks!
Hello enjoyed your video thankyou. Sounded like your auger belt may be slipping on baler 3 bolts to take cover off but i maybe wrong. Have a good day.
I bought one from TSC for $1499 about 2 months ago here in KY. So far so good. Had to sort through a few not so good ones on the lot to find mine.
Happy Father's Day & God bless. TFS
Thanks!
The baler is putting out the bales and the Massey Ferguson 1105 is humming it right along the way. Looks good, hope all is going well! Happy Father's Day.
Thanks!
Great video as always. Miss your long videos. Find them relaxing
Thanks!
Would to know where you are located. I grew up on a small mountain top farm about 5 miles west of mountain lake (as the crow flies)
Beautiful views! The Ole Massey sounds good 👍
Thanks!
Reminds me a bit of working on the ridge tops around here. Your ridge tops are taller.
It can get steep quick. Thx for watching… 👍
Great video! I like seeing all of the up close footage - hearing that pan kicker brings me back to when the dairy in town used to square bale everything - could hear it echoing across the hills. Fun to see the 1105 baling, but I hope the 5055D isn’t *too* under the weather. Congrats on some nice looking hay.
Thanks! The 5055d is operational, but on my round-2-list…🙂
@@HumbleHaymakers i know the feeling!
What year is the Massy?
1977
Nice.
Nice work have a good day.
Great to see the high ground! I’ve been wondering about it. What a view indeed!
Thanks!
That’s if you are working on something the door doesn’t shut on you we got a 335
Wow what a view!
Thanks!
That’s a beautiful place up on the hill! Looks like it will make some decent hay as well.
Thanks!
What a fabulous view you have there, I guess I understand why folks would want to build a house on the opposing hill, but I know what you're saying about having a house in your view! Good luck on the hay, thanks and I hope you have a good week.
Thanks!
Pretty view up there. It would be ashamed to ruin it w/ a house!!
lookin good sir! put up 51 rounds and 130 squares myself so far! keep it up
Thanks - great work in the hay…👍
Nice view from up there!
@@farmerpete Thanks!
Looks like a wagon load of money to me!
Yes!!!
Awesome video. I'm getting ready to cut my hay with my Ford 3600 diesel tractor and Ford 501 sickle mower. Can't wait 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great review! Thank you for taking the time to do this. Looking into getting one for my 5075e but was worried about having enough pto hp.
I've used a Lely Gemini which is the previous model to yours for decades. I was taught to keep the short side to the outside of the field and only make left turns. It seems much less risky and less likely to get caught in a fence row, etc.. Keeping the wide side to the outside and turning right just seems backwards to me. I'm not saying it doesn't work for you but I think it's far easier to keep the wide side inside. Good video.
This Vermeer/Lely only pivots to the right. Thx for watching.
Mighty fine looking hay! New wagon seems to be doing the job.
Thanks!!!
Enjoyed your video have a great day.
Looks like high quality hay! Well matched setup!
Thanks!
Looked like great stuff! New wagon seems great, I’d say that was a good find!
Thanks!
The MF 1105 and JD 348 square baler does a nice job, like the kicker and the wagon, too. I hope you had a nice weekend.
Thanks!
Enjoy your videos. You can almost smell the hay!
Thanks!
Pretty rare to be getting second in May. Looks like everything is working well.
Knock on wood…🙂. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant camera work & a stunningly beautiful farm. You're living the dream without any doubt & you're a great inspiration to me. It's an honour to have seen your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your life with the world 🐝
Beautiful!
Really like seeing that MF50 out there! Couldn’t agree more on the Perkins diesel. Does yours have ground speed PTO to run that rake?
It has ground speed PTO, however the manual for this rake requires 540 PTO. Don’t run it that fast though. I had a Ferguson rake that required ground PTO.
@@HumbleHaymakers That makes sense! My 135 has ground speed, my other two Masseys don't. I used to have a Massey 20 rake, which was clearly designed for ground speed (I never had a manual). When I got the 165 without that option, I would run it as slow as I could manage - but I think that ultimately did in the bearings on it. I was looking for an excuse to trade up, anyhow 😅. But that JD looks like it runs well! How is it to take on/off? (That was my biggest complaint with the 20. Back in my days of only having the 135... exhausting on a baling day)
@@windrowfarm it’s not bad to get on/off on the Model 50 with a true cat 1 3pt hitch.
