can you check your comments please to remove the telegram scammers, someone might fall for it
What's super weird is that the 10 man enforced tac squads can't do combat squads to go in a Razorback...but the Sisters of Battle with their now enforced 10 man squads *CAN* break to fit in an Immolator. It's a special rule explicitly on the Immolator that boils down to 'you can break one unit up into two combat squads if one of them's going to be riding in the Immolator.'
Shame they printed the cards before any community critique could be applied. Would be awful if the Idex was already full of holes before reaching stores.
Not for all. Only Battle Sister, Dominions and Noivces can split up like this
I think venoms for elder are the same - it's more a rule NOT for tac squads but for everyone else!
@samthompson2980 the Falcon lacks the rule as well, but their list has more 5 man options.
Can confirm Black Templars were always allowed to take Land Speeders, when it first came out in plastic in the 3rd Edition starter box it was as painted in the colours of the Black Templars. Codex Armageddon which gave the Templars their own rules had no restrictions on taking them either.
I remember this. it came with a speeder right, and had a yellow multimelta or plasma on it?
Necrons in 10th are looking SO GOOD. Field them. Crush Shawn (Sean? Shahn? Chawn?). NOW IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE, JAY.
Does Sean watch these and think, “Yes, YES, enemy mine! Spill your secrets to me.”
On Combi-weapons: what you are missing is Anti-Infantry 4+ with Devastating wounds, meaning that you deal mortals on a 4+ or 3+ to wound (anti-x y+ counts all successful wounds as critical wounds). While only 1A with Rapid-fire 1, there are several leaders and other options to either add sustained hits 1 or increase the number of attacks.
I will say having had a practice game of 10th, the new combi-weapons are amazing vs. Infantry, especially on Nurgle marked Chaos Terminators, Sustained hits proccing on 5s, with full re-rolls to hit. If you're in rapid-fire range you'll be doing quite a few mortal wounds.
Yessir and grav is now anti vehicle
Anti whatever X+ only counts those X values as critical wounds activating the mortal from devastating, not just any successful wound. The reason being, devastating activates mortals on a critical wound normally a 6. Anti infantry 4+ means ANY 4, 5, or 6 to wound is a critical wound, converting to a mortal on infantry. So if you were shooting Guard and wounded on a 3, the 3 would do just normal damage if you rolled that, but the 4, 5, or 6 would all be mortals. It also makes so if you were to say wound an infantry on 5 or 6 (say shooting a terminator or gravis marine), you would still get to do mortals on 4, 5, 6 because anti infantry is taking over and provides a new interaction of 4's score critical, regardless of the strength and toughness wounding table originally having you only wound on a 5.
This is also seen in that big knights harpoon, it has crazy high strength but anti monster and vehicle on 4+ devastating wounds. So while it will wound most light monsters/vehicles on 2s and everything on a 3 basically, only the 4, 5, 6 would deal the mortals from that attack.
You somehow made it more elaborate than the 9th edition core rules explaining combi weps xD
Razorbacks seem like they're tailor made for Devastator Squads. The Razorback can mark the target for the Devs which is awesome. As for our Tactical boys, I plan on stuffing mine in a Rhino with a classic Librarian so I can deliver a 21 OC unit with a 4+ invulnerable save onto an objective.
chuck servitors with multi meltas in a rhino... firing deck :)
@@eskhaphey2873 Yooooooo let's goooo!
I want to start by saying I love your channel. With your humor, and simple techniques as well as your attitude of “just try it if it doesn’t work, that’s OK” you make painting approachable for people who aren’t at the level of some channels that make you think you have to be golden demon skilled. One small point, although not at the scale of the new terminators, the Deathwing set that can build terminator knights or command squad. There is all the bits to make the ancient in terminator armour. Keep up with the great work. I look forward to your videos every Monday, Wednesday Friday.
Try being a Harlequin player: my clowns have been nerfed so hard, they're not even a proper faction anymore and the only way to realistically play them is in a soup army. And that's still better than the Ynnari got...
I like how Corsairs can be bodyguards for the Yinnari characters but still can't join the soup army. Cool stuff.
VV losing twin lightning claws is so anti-fluffy... :(
Don't worry, friend! The bike captain can have them! Look, Emperor, no hands!
The enthusiasm is possibly the best advert for 10th edition I have seen
Razorback could be used fairly well for 5 man devastator squads.
The loss of Combat Squads is really hurtful for myself as a DA player, as well as the changes to combi weapons. I continue to hope that the combi profiles are placeholdersuntil the codices come out and they start releasing the new range (standalone Primaris Sternguard) that will have a selection of wargear as opposied to pumping out the monopose launch box with no options. Same goes for VanVets, hopefully they get a Primaris glowup as well as the option to retain their older wargear options once theyre confirmed in the next box.
Like seeing the Lion with his dual profile combi-plasma pistol and then having my old vets running the new combi profile just feels rough as dogs.
2:20 am happy to hear that. Am slowly painting up a Deathwatch army (will play as normal marines like UM DA etc) and one thing I did was build all my riffles diffrent depending the chapter of the marine for a lil bit of flavour. Super happy to hear that. Should be more of that, having diffrent weapons share the same stats so that you can have more customising in modeling/kitbashing and still be WYSIWYG.
I'm doing the same. That's a great idea!
That's a neat idea. I bet that the Iron Hands Marine will be all about the maxing out the mods on his weapon. 😄👍
At least deathwatch is pretty good in this edition
Man poor tactical squad.. but nothing can beat love! Also nice stickers on your pad!
Gw is killing me. Why would they kill of their second most sold set ever and make them terribly bad.
Jay but scouts have 2 wounds each now, I played my first game and brought a whirlwind, and a squad of 5 sniper scouts, they can't be targeted outside 12" have anti character shots, also have stealth and work like infiltrators
Marines and Orks: Let's just turn Kombi-Weapons into a weird anti-all gun that might do a damage to save some extra rolling.
Drukhari: Our 5 Elves Wrack squad has 4 different ranged weapons, per 5 elves!
Space Marine Heros Series 2 was Blood Angels terminators. The Ancient with Banner was sold separately with a small paint set.
I got mine from Japan.
Would love a video of list building Necrons as a noob it be helpful what to look for
I absolutely love. The technical squad now. I joined towards the tail end of ninth. And I bought a set of tactical squad because they looked kind of cool. And then I made a second set out of those hero boxes. But I always felt like they were hampering me since they didn't have any Strategy and support. And the intercessors were just better than them. But now they feel on par with intercessors. And I got to run them with my first ever. Kitbash which was a lieutenant Not the hardest thing in the world. But I really enjoy how it came out.
Along with the crusader squads, the sword brethren also deserve some hype. They're just a big ol' brick in the face of practically anything that you put them in front of. While it does suck they don't have an invuln save, they can be made a bit more beefy with the right character leading them and the right buffs. Also did I mention that they have the possibility, if the dice gods allow, of dealing 3 mortal wounds PER hit? Give the sword bros some buffs, and maybe a vehicle to ride in, and you've got yourself a pretty solid hammer.
The Whirlwind have always had it's counters, just use tactics and it's fun. I used to have two in my army in 3rd and 4th edition. The thing I really miss however about them was the Guessing on where to fire- which was a realistic counter to firing it.
I never even saw Space Marine Heroes 2 on shelves. They really need to bring that one back, especially with 10th refreshing Terminators! They brought back series 1 and 3 a couple times, but I just want those dope Terminators!!
Just realised there was an upload schedule 😂 so I was sat there refreshing page waiting for the new vid😅, cant wait to watch all of it
It's all fun and games until every SM list comes with 3x Desolation Squad and 3x Whirlwind.
Whirlwind's are really going to only be point effective if they're shooting soft infantry units that are hiding out of line of site.
1 Whirlwind kills 7 models in a 10 model Guardsman squad on average. 5 models in a marine equivalent. 83% chance of 1 terminator. 4 wounds to an average rhino equivalent
I have a Phobos only army and I do not mind dying on this hill.
Raven Guard for life.
Even though we suck😢
Shrike luckily fuckin SHREDS right now so do invictors and eliminators are solid too.
Reivers aren’t actually that bad.
The lieutenant makes them worth it for snatching late game objectives easier than you’d think. Deep striking 6 million times a game is honestly what keeps me alive.
I have to say,I will run 10 man Tactical Squads in Rhinos. They can get a heavy and a special weapon, run up and take objectives, and shoot things with Oath of the moment! Yes please!
FYI, Primaris can get in razorbacks and other firstborn vehicles now
Nope.
Itsays tacticus cannot use a razorback nor a rhino.
They can use the rest though.
I am pretty sure they can only use the land raider.
I think you're underestimating the Vanguard Vets. They're still 5 jumppack bodies with basically powerswords for 26 points a piece. All anti vehicle melee was nerfed super hard this edition, so comparing them to their job from the previous just isn't a good place to start.
The Primaris Outrider Squads got a huge buff as well. As a White Scars Player, I approve 👍.
What also sucks is that since sternguard vets are now a primaris unit, they can't go in a razorback either.
The terminator ancients are available to be made in the blood angels and deathwing terminator sets so it's probably why they are still a thing
I like that the Tactical Squad has fall back and shoot.
The thing I have to know is, can Imperial forces still use bomb bots? They should, timed just right and they're effective. What about Squats on hover boards lobbing grenades at enemies? That sounds fun!
I'm a BT as well, it's an awesome time (other than mine aren't painted as I still haven't found my scheme yet) I'm actually considering doing mine as Blue or Red Temps, because black is hard. I am almost resigned to just doing the triple edge highlight scheme from 'eavy metal, just to get them started. Black is so difficult to do well (I also don't own an air brush yet)
I am starting Nids this edition though, so my focus is mostly on them right now. At least with my Nids I have more freedom for the scheme, and I think I know what I want to do already. Started a tester last night, but still blocking in colours on it (a Zoanthrope)
EDIT:
I bought some vanguard vets + BT Sword Bro's to convert. I even got some 3D printed TS/SS for them. I didn't get round to doing the conversions though, so glad about that. I'm probably much better off just making the Sword bros now. I think I'm gonna use my Van vets kit as base deco now and general bits. I'm doing frozen bases for my Nids, so for the big minis I want to do some Space Marines trapped under ice. Would be cool to have a Van vet with his jump pack, trapped under ice.
I've seen some examples of this, but not ever worked with resin before myself. At least now with the UV you can cure it fast. I have to try this.
PS: I'll at least get to use my TH/SS on some new Terminators, so hoping they'll scale up nicely.
I gave up edge highlighting black years ago, a controlled drybrush of grey then white followed by an allover black wash gives a good finish with about 90% less grief.
@@eltigre7996 I tried doing some dry brushing based on the artis opus guide, but it ended up looking too blue.
I want to do the blue highlights for BT's you see.
I'm gonna try the edge highlighting and see how it goes.
I do need to practice my dry brushing more though.
Gravis Captain + 6 Agressors with boltstorm and a Biologus can all fit in a land raider crusader.
Drive into the heart of the enemy unloading the holy bolter before you charge to finish with the chainsword and fists. A very templary way to go, imo.
I’m doing a Calgary brick with 6 aggressors. He has his two Victrix guard already so it’s a nice 9 man brick. With advance and fall back can shoot and charger for whole unit. If I had the biologis I would add him to it aswell
It would be really cool to see a show case of Nick's orks and maybe one of Sean's armies
Cool video idea, I would of loved to see pictures of what models you are talking about though
Reasons why Black Templars are best:
1: Looks baller
2: Melee go BBRRRR
3: Can turn the Tactical squad into 2 5-man crusader squads
On combi weapons, in one of the interviews they said that combi weapons in starter boxes and combat patrols would have an odd one state line to try to balance it, but once the codex was released they would have more options
So we will likely have months of people building whatever combi weapons they want for GW to come in and change it after. Awesome.
I feel the pain of the BT fans with Helbrecht having one less wound than he should. Lysander also has one less wound compared to terminator captains with storm shields. It makes no sense, just up the points and give him an extra wound.
Woooo new video! :)
I agree with everything you said. Very sad about tactical squads going to 10 man minimum. Also bummed about vanguard vets. So much work went into kitbashing just for them to now go back to being an assault squad
land speeder spotting for a whirlwind...this used to be a mechanic years ago. i believe it was available to space marines around 5th edition with apocalypse... someone correct me please i have been playing 40k since 3rd and my memory is a bit foggy
I belive a lot of tau units have this mechanic with drones now, i think they just saw an opportunity to let other armies have some fun aswell.
@@TheThewhatnowI think you're right as DG Lord of Virulence can now act as a spotter for blast weapons, including the indirect fire of the PBC.
it was definitely a mechanic for space marines previously because i used to use it,i just cant remember what edition
With BT, having battleline BT Crusader Squads both firstborn AND primaris is super fun (and firstborn 5 man squads is so nice since the tacs are all forced to be 10).
You can get over 100 melee attacks from the primaris squad (take all chainswords on initiates and neophytes, since neophytes say they have the 5 attack astartes chainswords, 95 attacks just from there plus the SB, plus any leader). Add in those Lethals and Sustained??? Amazing.
Tho i think we need an update, as Helbrecht, Marshal, and Castellan are all missing the generic 'chapter master, captain, lieutenant' keywords on their datasheets. So technically as is, Castellan's couldnt join a squad Helbrecht is leading from how the attach rule is worded and the lack of Chapter Master/Captian keyword on Helbrecht or even just the normal Marshal.
Tho the sword brethren with a leader, granting plus 1 attack OR plus 1 damage in combat??? Kinda cookie crazy. Plus you can have 11 sword borther bodies (3 wounds, no invul) vs max of 6 with 3 wounds and a 4+++. I still like my bladeguard tho, look amazing. Just need to get another box so i can make a bladeguard Captain and Lieutenant (unless they come out on their own sometime soon).
overall excited, i love shooty stuff with my BT as well as melee, and just got in some jump packs to throw on some firstborn bodies i have from the horus heresy big infantry boxes.
Combi weapons getting changed has kinda yucked my yums (mainly cause i got about 15 sternguard in right before leviathan was shown off, so all my combis there feel a lil weird all being the same, but hey, they have a 50% chance of handing out mortals to infantry so its not the worst). Van vets losing all their options just absolutely sucks tho, makes no sense to me. Hopefully means a new kit is coming soon, and when it does theyll update the sheet? Since im hoping sternguard regain their special weapon and heavy weapon options later too (tho THANK YOU GW for making heavy flamers available as just a normal heavy weapon option across all firstborn squads). Im also assuming the infernus squad will get a heavy flamer option soon too when their full kit releases.
Regardless, im getting more and more tempted to get even more horus heresy firstborn bodies and their special and heavy weapon sprues to expand into more wonderful options. Just the thought of spamming heavy flamers via firstborn crusade squads, devastator squads, tac squads. Glorious.
The whirlwind x speeder strat was in the last 2 edditions as well in some form or another wich no one used cause there was always more efficient damage dealers
The problem with whirlwinds is you are assuming that you will roll high on attack count. I just played a game where I brought two, and rolled for both at the same time, and rolled low on all shots. Whirlwinds are swingy as heck.
I'm thinking of trying black Templar
do it
Jay: people who spam missile launchers kinda stink.
Also Jay: spams 20 man teams with a fancy leader each to buff said teams.
The biggest losers are everyone that don’ play Space Marines
I don’t know, I think there’s some other good stuff out there. Don’t sleep on eldar.
@@timunderbakke8756 Eldar in general yes, but no if want to field a pure Harlie list.
sad to hear about squatty marines getting thrown out the window, but still pretty cool.
I think all the streamlined guns/gear combi weapons amd the vanguard veterans for example are just done this way now because it's just the index. Basically if they made the index in depth like a codex when the codexes actually come out only die hard tournament players would get em. Casual players wouldn't because there would be no need. But if the index is just easy basic rules for weapons when the codex drops the index is basically useless. That's why I think some units wargear is super simplified.
Idk man 10 tacs in a rhino shooting a grav cannon and a grav out has been doing way better then my intercessors. And the fall back and shoot charge is solid. But I do wish u can do 5 mans
I cannot wait to pick up my leveithan box tomorrow from my local game store
Tactical squads still seem decent defensively. Ten marines with 2 heavy/special weapons seems good to have on an objective.
We are now using points but we are really using power level and I don’t know how I feel about that. I think this means that there will only be 3-5 lists that everyone uses. I don’t like that.
Meta chasers only use three to five types of lists anyway.
And I just got done with my first blood angels Tactical squad last night
Bike Captian with twin lightning-claws. lol
It’s always a good time to be space marine player honestly.
you can put devastators in the razorback, right😕
GW still makes terminator ancients for some of the chapter specific terminators.
Those Sternguard aren't getting Combis when I build mine. Those weapons are so much worse than their bolters.
Need a quick TLDR, is the Hammerfall Bunker any good yet?
People definetly use to take the whirlwind in 9th they just stopped when everyone but guard got -1 to inderect fire
Anyone else think that by changing the combi weapon from an actual combination of two weapons to a new specialty bolt gun that GW has now inadvertently fabricated a new bolt gun that has never been in the 40K lore?
Jay, I think you would look super cool if you grew out your beard (like sideburns). Keep up the great content!
9:20 how can you find this info? I recently bought a gravis captain and cannot find the info that explains what units he can or cant join
Combi is dedicated anti infantry just like grav is now dedicated anti vehicle
Do you put stickers on your wet palette? I want to put some on mine, but nearly all of my stickers right now are Element Games ones, and don't want to go overboard with them. Think I'll use their new one, my boltgun one and then an Artis Opus one for now. I wish I had another of the GS world skulls, but I only had one, and it's on my PC.
Also mate, where did you get you mini Colourwheel that you used to wear in these videos, please? I'd love one of those.
Could Templars take a whirlwind if the missile turret was chained to the vehicle?
😅
The changes suck, its power level pretending to be points.
7:25 in the armageddon codex the first BT rules they indeed banned whirlwinds librarians and devastators, later only librarians were restricted, BUT that did not stop them having a whirlwind in the armies taking part in the armageddon war as listed in the back, the lore black templars had a whirlwind x)
Jay it will still be 3+ to hit... Indirect fire is -1 so and -1 to hit. The land speeder lets you shoot it normally ignore cover and +1 hit to blast so hits on 3 and gets -2
I'm more worried about 5 hellblasters with a lieutenant advancing and shooting hellblasters out of it
I’m really really sad how they massacres my Redemptor dread. Seems clear they decided they sold enough and need to move some other vehicles. Why would I field the redemptor when for 5 points more I can take a repulsor executioner?
I'm just getting started with 10th edition, so forgive my ignorance. I have a bike Chaplain, should i get a squad of Outriders or find some old space marine bike riders?
I didn't even start thinking about it until you started talking about the bikers... Will I still be able to take 9 drukhari bikes? I hope so 😂 they aren't the best unit in most editions but I love mine so much
Can I ask some clarifying questions? Im sorry I’m advance if these sound pedantic. Im just trying to understand with all these new rules and terms.
On your combo for the crusader squad you mention Grimaldus leading the unit and taking a second litany for 1CP to give sustained his and lethal hits
Do you mean a second vow?
Also how does Grimaldus give critical
Hits 5+? I see that ability on helbrecht but I don’t see any way grimladus can grant that.
Thanks in advance!
i want to start playing ultramarines but i don really know wich space marines combat patrol should i get or maybe another space marines box ):
I'm furious about Vanguard Vets and won't be playing 10th unless they're fixed.
How brave of you. Godspeed.
@SpoonyBard88 lol I know it'll do nothing, GW doesn't care in the first place but I don't have to be part of it
You get a 20 man crusader squad and you get a 20 man crusader everyone gets a 20 man crusader squad!
this is all based on the free PDF list. I am sure the codex will have more flushed out rules.
I personally hope they bring back paying for upgrades....
I'm a blood angels now instead of white scars to run death company marines instead of vanvets
I run power fist inferno pistol death company marines and they get +1 strength and attack on the charge ,reroll hits, and reroll charges, and I pair em with a chappy w jumppack and he gives +1 to wound c:
Can we all burn an incense candle, and play a round of Deep Rock Galactic for the true loosers of this edition?
I took a whirlwind almost every game of 9th in my firstborn ultramarines. Everyone hated it because it could just crack on slapping some shots at whatevers on objectives. So glad its now even better 😁
Word is that indirect fire is about to get a big Nerf real soon. don't get too excited.
@bulldog71ss33 I'll still play it regardless. Pair it up with a couple of land speeders should still be fun :)
Dude, it is more than 20 wounds. It is 40 wounds.
Tide of the Templar!
I still miss your old opening. It was so much better.
Christ bless you, templars baby let's gooo!
My DA Force is doing quite well, but My Space Wolves more resemble anemic puppies.
Yay🎉
Can hellblasters also shoot once more when near death if ancient is around?
Pretty sure you can put primaris in razorbacks now
You can throw 5 man squads of first born assault marines in the razorback.
the melta bike bomb would be cool but tbh melta is pretty useless this edition
“…the Outriders are fine” They lost half their shots and melee attacks while gaining no abilities and also going up in points. They effectively just lost an ability.
They were questionable before when they were bad in a low troops meta, but now they’re entirely non-viable, having received no durability buff either.
Not worth bringing even in casual games. I used to use these in 9th for a lot of fun maneuvers, but they’ll be mothballed for the next 3 years failing a DRASTIC point cut.
The winners are desolation squads (sigh), eradicators and gladiators. While the strength differences have an effect on kraks and meltas, these are still great units and the gladiators are still fantastic - The Lancer is as good as a Prism Tank, slower but more durable and just as deadly.
Points wise most of the marine units are losers. 205pts for 5 terminators is ludicrous, their output just isn’t worth that much when you can just put another gladiator on the table with a lot more and much stronger shots for 50pts less.
Vindicator’s good but expensive. Fun model to bring for rapid ingress shenanigans.
Land Raiders are a bit overcosted and really should have an invul. Also the price on the redeemer is big lol… what were they thinking.
Ironically since everyone is bringing tanks, it’s viable to meta a troops list. Bring lascannon devastators and 3 primaris librarians for 4+ invuls on various troops.
I thought the 10th ed losers were going to be the GW designers that didn't get credited in the rulebook :S
Maybe put 5 hellblasters or devastators in a razorback
just not as cheap
I wanna buy the desolator marines but i feel a nerf coming kinda soon, and also everybody hates on them
They are really solid especially with an apothecary in the squad for lethal hits. Who cares if someone hates on them you can play them and they are good units. At least it’s not guard indirect fire with sentinels that ignore all indirect fire nerfs…
I used to love my tac squads back in RB spam of (was it 7th?) it was awesome. I even started doing this with my Blood Angels, even though I already had a Jump Pack army.
Also Nurgle CSM before the Death Guard book was a thing (although this was rhino spam, I think) just take 7 squads of 7 PM's in 7 Rhinos. Was awesome, papa was so proud.
Remember those side care bikes with a heavy weapon? I had 6 of them for my Blood Angels with Multimeltas. My anti armour was off the chain. I also used to have 2 x of the drop ships (painted black) to drop my Death company and DC Dread, into the heat of it... it's such a shame that DC were so exploitable with the kiting though. I don't think this will ever change (although when BA get their book, hopefully it has been changed)
I really want to do a Primaris BA army later this year or next year, and I really hope death Company are fixed so they can't be "Benny Hill'd"
PS: your bike idea is great. is this for first born or can you do this with primaris bikes? I wanted to get some primaris bikes, although likely would save them for my BA, as they suit BA very well I feel.
My BT's are more of a footslog and dreadnought focussed force. I have 5 Dreads for them now (3x contemptor, 1 x the melee dude from the "nerfgun" set and the new one from Levi) not a patch on your dread collection, but mine look very imposing with them being primaris. I do have the Primaris Chappy on bike, but all BT players have this dude I feel. Might be cool to get some more bikes to keep him company.
These videos would be easier to follow if more 9f what was being talked about were on screen for us who are really bad with names of models
Infiltrators, intercessors, intergrators, inyourfacers...
Precision completely F's characters hiding in 'bodyguard' and lethal hits completely F's armour being tougher - I think the error is GW wanted each unit to be good (a noble aim) so there are too many buffs and funnily enough far too many re-rolls. GW screwed the pooch on achieving their own aims!! I love the look of 10th but hated points, list building etc. But I can see how people who liked it would be disappointed!! 😢
Lethal hits is only on 6s so it’s not a great way to get past armor and precision is rare with only one or two units from each codex having them. As for re-rolls in 1000 point necron list no unit had any re-rolls
@@minigamerjeonsofbattle9376 MWG did necron v dark elder list and re-rolls were ridiculously prevalent, hence my opinion 🙂 really hope I'm wrong as I like 10th, just aware that lots of the initial critiques seem justified and it's not the OPR streamlining I thought it would be 😁
