Nice job! My son and I just got back from there after him drawing a youth tag. Busted a nice 11 point in compartment #9 on the next to last morning. Awesome experience and very tough terrain to hunt. Beautiful country and once in a lifetime experience.
That is awesome! Just got drawn again this year for the Archery Tag lol! I'll be making another video very soon!
@@jamesmjubran Congratulations! Good luck!
@@bryananderson2454 Thank you!
Well done sir. Now the real work begins.
Indeed! Thank you 🙌🏼
Well done! Old boy was after the ladies! Nice buck sir
Haha he was indeed. Thanks man!
What an awesome experience!!!
It was very cool to see that kind of rutting action!
Nice deer, thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot, it was an amazing time!
Excellent draw you need to play lottery 👊🏻
Absolutely!
Cool video, beautiful scenery.
I probably would have waited for a better shot though, that first one looked like a bad angle
Thanks for filming this and sharing your experience with the internet!
Thanks man, yeah the shot was a little far back definitely shouldn’t have forced the shot and waited for a slightly more broadside angle.
Great video
Good buck!
Outstanding video. I was just drawn for a youth hunt at BBRSP with 2 of my kids. I can't wait to hunt that country. We've hiked the area many times, so my kids are very used to the terrain.
Man, that is so exciting! Did just one of the kids draw or both? Let me know how it goes!
@@jamesmjubran both were drawn.
@@mikekasper795 I didn't realize that was how the youth draws worked, this is great news! My boy will be able to apply in a couple of years!
@@jamesmjubran you don't by chance have a map of the compartments, do you? I'm just curious what the hunt areas are.
@@mikekasper795 man I wish I did. Sorry, I should have kept a picture of it.
Incredible hunt, man. The anticipation and reverence you showed when finding the deer was awesome to see.
One question for you: Did you two get drawn together or did only you get drawn and was able to bring your buddy along to help? I’m still trying to figure out the draw hunt system here. Thanks.
It was such a great experience. My brother didn’t draw, he just came along to be part of the adventure. Such amazing animals in such amazing landscapes 👊🏼
congrats James: Rob Williams from Elsik.
Hey man! Thanks a lot! Hope you’re well!
@@jamesmjubran doing well . Hope to retire in March or May. Looking for a place in RockSprings to buy in the near future. Will let you come out and hunt the axis and mouflan ram.
@@robertwilliams271 congratulations man, let me know!

How many points do you have on this hunt before you drew tag?
I had 11 but there was a couple there that drew together with 1 or two points it’s a random draw, which I like. Everyone always has a chance.
Is this public land? And if it is, then hunting with rifles are allowed?
James Lee this is state land, and they offer 12 rifle hunts per year through the Texas Big Game drawing system.
They had you drag it out whole? Ouch
They didn’t mandate it but hiiiighly discourages quartering it out. I’ll be hunting there solo for archery season this year. It’s getting quartered and packed out this year for sure.
We actually have property there😂
This is year 14 for me w/out being drawn.
One day.....one day!
I once saw a MONSTER muley out there, I shit you not ~200”, I was camping.
I believe it! It’s some big country with such little pressure.
@@jamesmjubran great footage my man. Check out FlatLander channel if you haven’t, epic Texas public hunting.
Roger Stevens will do, Thanks!
Hello there brother I came across your CZcams channel. That's a nice deer you got there in Texas. Hey I saw the video do you have to have a quarter permit. And how much does it cost you the total for the hunt?
Thanks, not sure what a quarter permit is and the application was 5 or 10 bucks plus hunting license $65 plus annual public land hunting permit $45 plus $130 for the area hunt tag if you get drawn.
In the park
No kidding!?!? What do I have to do to get permission to hunt it man!?
You can’t 100% hunt off it but if you know the area it is in a place called the solitario. The property is called the solitario bar and it is a shack that we camp in. If you get tags anyone can stay anytime of the year and it has some of the best access in the park to aoudad and cougar and mule deer and bear but you can’t the bears
We had a park guy out and we tracked a cougar cave and found one
I know the area you’re talking about. That’s awesome man. If I pull another tag I’ll definitely let you know. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Perfect!
Ks to be a 2.5 year old.
I would agree, I didn’t take a close look at teeth but I’d say that’s a pretty fair bet.
I've drawn a tag for 2022 rifle season. I'd sure like to talk to you on the phone. I've sent you a message on Facebook Messenger with my phone number. Looking forward to talking with you.
Hi Ray. I can’t find the message. Feel free to message me again.
