Man I miss Disneyland. As soon as I get into the parking lot I just get so happy.
Hopefully it won't be too much longer until it reopens 🙂
You’re not alone
Pp
I feel the same about Disney 🌎world!! I have read there are no more annual passes. I might be wrong.. any ways....Hopefully things will be better soon. Disney is the best theme park ever
I feel happy to when I step in the parking lot, but what happens when you reach the entrance and you left your phone, your wallet, or worse your pass.
I was lucky to be able to go to Disneyland a few weeks ago. It had been the first time I have gone in almost 8 years. The Matterhorn has always been one of my favorites and always will be, but this time it was different. I didn't realize how much weight I had gained until I tried to sit in this ride and I found that I couldn't fit. Almost every ride was either a tight squeeze or a no go. I was heartbroken but I found my resolve. It was a sobering experience and I am now on a weight loss journey to be able to ride my favorite rides at one of my favorite places. Once I'm able to fit on this ride, I will come back to this comment.
Edit: It's been over 2 years since I've made this comment so I thought I'd update everyone involved. My weight loss journey has been slow going. I am still a very large individual. I am still unable to ride the Matterhorn or other favorites of mine. However, I have been upping the ante on my journey by hiring a private physical trainer and am proud to say that I have lost 35 lb since beginning with him two months ago. The number of supportive comments on this comment of mine really is encouraging. I greatly appreciate you all.
I’m so proud of you
Proud of u
Strong to be able to do that
Good luck!!! You can do it!!!
Godspeed!
There’s something about the sound of the wind whistling in and around the mountain that is completely head-clearing. Love it!
Know exactly what you mean 🙂
Absolutely. Nothing else sounds quite like it.
I've been on a "Disneyland fever" since February and since then I've been watching all this videos of the rides.
Same here
I got Jan Michael Vincent fever 🥵 over here
Same. It's horrific. I just wanna go to DL. But we can't, so I'll just watch vidz on CZcams.
same, quarantine hit's hard

Thank you for this post. My grandfather traveled from Yuma, Arizona and stayed with family to help build this ride. He's no longer with us. When I pass by I always say "Hello, Grandpa." 💙
That's amazing ❤️ Thank you for watching 🙂
❤amazing god bless you and your family

I’ve been riding the Matterhorn for 55 years. It used to be much different before they created the “ice tunnels.”
That's amazing 🙂 Yes, can imagine it's a lot changed over the decades.
What was in there before the "ice tunnels?"
@@morph628 it was just open, nothing encasing the tracks. It was just open inside the mountain. It’s been decades so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I think they encased the tracks in the tunnels in the 1970s.
It was open in a lot of areas. The ice tunnels were enclosed for the most part. But it was just closed, no theme....... if it was timed just right, when you went up the lift and a sky bucket was at the right spot, it looked like it would hit you im the head.
Best part was the mountain used to have way more holes in it. When you got to the top of the lift, there used to be a hole in front of you so you could see the entire front of the park.
No I take that back, the best part used to be how loud it used to be. You used to be able to hear the sounds of the Abominable Snowman from just about anywhere in Anaheim. Like if yoj went to an Angels game and you are in the parking lot you could hear the Abominable Snowman. I think that's the saddest thing. It was an audible icon.
@@quintocreations5091 that’s so cool! Like how everyone in that part of the OC knows what time it is when they hear the Disneyland fireworks 😂
Isn't it crazy how you can almost smell the darkness🤣
That not the smell of darkness ninja that was me after to many beans

I love Mortal Kombat
I'm glad that this ride is unique to Disneyland and doesn't exist anywhere in the world.
And take notes WDW, Disneyland's yeti's still work.
WDW yeti still "works"... puts too much stress on structure. Needs serious reinforcement but would require MAJOR dismantle and rework.
@@rmat.847 WDW can't turn their Yeti on because it would damage the mountain structure. That meant it literally "doesn't work" because it is poorly designed and doesn't work for the building it is inside of.
A few years ago Disneyland got 3 brand new Yeti Animatronics even though the old ones were still working however WDW can't even fix their one yeti that has been turned off for 15 years.
@@Lil_Angry_Bitch you do realize that they would literally have to take the mountain apart, and probably spend over a year if not multiple years refurbishing the ride and spend tens of millions of dollars on it? also not to mention that Expedition Everest is already the most expensive roller coaster on the planet. your name really fits you dude. its a theme park, you dont need to have all this elitest nature because you’re sad that DL’s plot of land is a tiny tiny speck compared to WDW.
if they fixed the yeti in wdw they would have to tear apart the whole mountain.
@@awefawn7793 Settle down, seesh.
This is childhood. Still one of my favorites. Just a fun exhilarating little coaster. I love disneyland, can't wait till I can go back again.
May I use this footage in a video I'm making about scary Disney animatronics? I will give your channel full credit.
Hi there, if you could credit us for the footage in the video and put a link to our channel in the video description, that would be fine. Looking forward to seeing it :)

attractions like this are why disneyland charges over 100$ per park ticket. the amount of attention to detail, including even the queue is such a uniquely Disney thing.
My back can feel the aching already. I miss it sm
Thankyou for saving me thousands on a plane ticket from NZ to USA and back and the accommodation cost and Disneyland ticket price and waiting 52 minutes in line to experience The Matterhorn for 2 minutes.
Lol, thanks for watching 🙂 We will be back in a few weeks time to film a POV of the right hand side track 😁
"Permanecer sentados por favor" just brings a smile to my face.
rodé this when i was 5 and cried but it was so much fun, 10 years later still my favorite
Same with everest
I like Harold’s feet they smell like popsiclew
This might be one of the best shot videos of this attraction! I'm guessing there was am image stabilizer used, but man this was a smooth viewing experience on a ride that always feels very rough to me.
Thank you 🙂 Yes, the camera had image stabilisation.

This is my ultimate dream to visit Disney land this ride is so cool I’m 64 but I still get so excited about theme parks thankyou 😊
Hopefully you'll get to visit soon. Thank you for watching 🙂
Riding in the front is SERIOUSLY the only way to go. It’s incredible!!
We thought it was fun 🙂
I miss Disneyland It has been decades since I have been on the matterhorn ride. I am glad to see that they are still using it.
It still draws the crowds as well 🙂 It's such a historic ride, it will probably remain there forever.
Brilliant POV man. What a classic!
Thank you, pleased you enjoyed it!
It's a shame this ride has gotten so rough over the years. It's a historic ride as the first tubular steel coaster and paved the way for Arrow's bigger and more intense rides. If it weren't for the Matterhorn there would be no custom loopers, no Intamin, no B&M!
Exactly. For being a prototype ride, it's a miracle it's still operating considering it's age. We still don't find it too rough, it'd still a good experience 🙂
Love this ride..Its so much fun 💕
We do too 😁
Such a great ride
I can remember the first time i rode this ride, it was 16 years ago back in 2006, I went to Disneyland on Christmas eve with my father and my sisters, it was a early Christmas present 🎁 for us, it was fun
This is my first roller coaster ever! I think was 6 or 7 the first time. I couldn’t wait to ride it again. But that was so many years ago when you had to buy a ticket book to ride certain attractions.
Beautiful POV!
Thank you :)
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for posting this video. I had a $hit day. It was great to watch the front seat on the correct side of the Matterhorn on a clear beautiful day!! Did I say, THANK YOU?? I played it a second time with my external speakers LOUD & it really freaked out my cats... hahahah! Thank you.
Thank you for choosing to watch it. Really pleased it's made your day 🙂 Not so sure the cats will feel the same way though 🤣
@@XtremeCoasters On the third time they were curious about the Yeti but still ran for the hills! Great post, thank you!
this ride is so much fun, I love the seating :))
We love it too 🙂
This looks so much fun!

Fun fact: this was the first steel roller coaster ever built! It was made in the 50’s I believe
You're correct :) It was the very first tubular steel coaster in the world, opening in the summer of 1959.
Wow
Another fact theres been deaths on this ride. .Not sure its a safe ride with only belts to keep.you safe
@@pauline6005jesus christ ACCIDENTS ARE RARE, BUT THEY DO HAPPEN. JUST BECAUSE AN ACCIDENT HAPENNED DOESNT MEAN IT ISNT SAFE. THERE ARE MORE CAR CRASHES EVERY YEAR THAN EVERY ROLLERCOASTER ACCIDENT IN HISTORY, YET PEOPLE STILL USE THEIR CARS. im tired of gp like you

Awesome video! Never been to Disneyland! Hope they get to open again soon!
Thank you :) Yes, hope you get to visit someday too, there is nothing else quite like it.
I wet to Disneyland with my cousins when I was 9. Me and my cousins were not very fond of rollercoasters back then, but when we got on this ride we immediately loved it. The dark cave and the fact that it wasn’t too scary but scary enough. We must have gotten on it like 10 times. Recently went back to Disneyland and the first ride we go on was this one but only us 2. One of my favorite memories

I just came back from Disneyland for a school trip! I went on the Matterhorn twice! It was really fun!
We thought it was fun too!
@@XtremeCoasters it wasn’t fun for me
I’m still traumatized by that yeti
I remember the looks at his eyes when I saw him and I’ve been afraid of that ride ever since
This coaster makes great use of tight space. While it doesn't go very fast, the water splashdown was a surprise. It would be even cooler if they could pump fog inside the cave.
I've been to Disneyland twice last time being in 2007. Its so cool to watch these videos. It brings back so many memories
Thanks for watching 🙂
How I love this place. Watching this, it feels like I'm there. Can't help but think, "It's great to be back."

Just went On July 5 and took my 5 yr old on it thinking she would be scared and ended up liking it lol 😂 im glad she had fun!
Omg,this video is so awesome ,in 4k ,who would have thought of it?

This ride gives you whiplash
I’ll never be able to ride as my spine is messed up but am very thankful I can see what it’s like. Thanks for the video!
We're sorry to hear that. Thank you for watching :)
This ride gives me full body pain, best to wait till the end of the day to ride the Matterhorn lol.
Ride at the front, we didn't find it that bad at all 🙂
fun fact: Matterhorn accually has two different tracks, left side and right side. left is a red cart, and right is a blue cart, the left track is shown to be faster and shows Harold(the abominable snowman) more!
We will hopefully get to film the left side on our next trip to Disney :)
Thank you for the ride! Enjoyed it!
That's great, pleased you enjoyed it 🙂
Do you know how to get the mp3 sound byte of “Remain seated please ...” so I can use it for my text messages?

Awesome ride
It sure is!
I remember I rode this a couple of years ago with my brother when I was around 10 I enjoyed this a lot but now that I’m 18 and taller (around 6’2 or 6’3) the ride gives me cramps since there’s not a lot of leg room/space but besides those coms it’s still a personal favorite of mine
We love it too 😁 Know what you mean about leg room though, it's a bit of a squeeze to get in.
Never been to Disneyland, I’d like too though, and when I do I’ll make sure to experience all of the fun, I’m watching a lot of videos of the park just because of my curiosity, and wondering what it looks like due to the pandemic, and WOW, same with Universal Studios
I’ve been to Disneyland twice.
Omg that looks SO fun! I'd love to go on this
My mom loves this ride! she used to ride it all the time more than any when she lived out there in the late 70s. sadly, we havnt been back since. Disneyworld yes but not Disneyland.
Thank you jerry, for this
Jerry you always have the best videos
Arrow dynamics’ first coaster. Not an insanely intense entry, but a fun well themed experience, especially for 1959!
It's a classic. We love it 🙂❤️
I was at the front row too, two times. It was awesome and scary at the exact same time jajaja!
😂
last time i went i waited in line for an hour for this and as i was about to go on, it got shut down for an hour. i remember being sad bc this is my favorite ride, but i still got to go onto it earlier in the day
Great Vid!!! Love the "M"
Thanks for watching 🙂 We really enjoyed it too.
What a masterpiece of dreams and execution, building the mountain is one thing, putting a roller coaster in it is a whole other thing.
I can’t wait to ride this ride when I go! I go on Monday so just 3 more days 🤞
Have fun 😁
This looks so cool!!!!

I love the Matterhorn!!
We do too 🙂
feel the rhythm! feel the rhyme! its bobsled time!!
Awesome camera work
Thank you :)
I cant wait to go this june
Oh how I miss this ride
Hopefully not too much longer until we can all ride it again 🙂
It was far superior ride in the 60's for a couple of reasons; The cars were not doubled up, causing them to buck and pull on each other, and the cars went all the way up to the top of the mountain, meaning longer (and faster) ride. This was pre-abominable Snowman days, when the Skyride still went through the mountain. During L.A. City School District's Grad Night, they removed most of the ride's brakes and there were no lights on inside the mountain. You might say it was a precursor to the Space Mountain experience!
Wow, that sounds incredible!
Give Harold a Snicker's bar so he can "chill" LOL!!!
The only part worth waiting in line was the yodel background music
I still remember the main tunnel being dark for a few seconds inside the ride.
I’m I the only one who was traumatized by this ride
I love DisneyLand but The Yeti traumatized me as a kid
This ride scared the crap out of me when i was younger.
Never been to Disneyland, only WDW as I'm an east-coaster, but the theme looks really cool!!! It's interesting how they did it differently than WDW's AK ride. I'd like to experience the blue and white yeti with the water ride, although I still love AK's! This one seems to be light-hearted, but still adventurous while the one in the Animal Kingdom is like supposed to be an expedition gone tragically wrong! I have to check out some more of the Disneyland versions! Thanks for the smooth footage and nice audio for the viewing experience!
Thank you, pleased you enjoyed it :)
I’ve never been to DL, only WDW and Disneyland is like 20 minute drive from where I live
@@ireadysucks3026 Woah that’s kind of crazy, but I do get it! DL is like a 2 day or one day experience (maybe more IDK) and WDW could be like a week long, so I’d think maybe it’s better for vacation.
@@RetroDreamer i don’t really know why I haven’t been. when I went to WDW I only went to two parks and spent a day in each.

Never heard of this until I visited Switzerland 2023 and actually went to the Matterhorn. I was thinking that's beautiful but soon afterwards I learned from my boss that Disneyland has the Matterhorn. In all these years I didn't know.

That Yeti is my one true mortal enemy. I was NOT prepared for it the first time I went to Disneyland as an eight year old. Nobody told me there was gonna be a freaking Yeti on a ride set on a mountain in Switzerland. A personal open message to you my dear Yeti: Screw you! You know what you did!
My great-grandpa helped build Matterhorn! I never got to ride it when I was in Disneyland but I plan to next time we go.
It's still standing and running amazingly well, he did a good job 🙂You should, it's an iconic roller coaster for so many reasons.
@@XtremeCoasters i’d love to, I never met my great-grandpa but his entire life story is pretty legendary in my family haha. Plus, since he helped a lot in Disneyland I wonder if they have his name down somewhere.
On my last trip to Disneyland, I didn't get a chance to go on Matterhorn because it broke down. I was so close to going on it. We were told we had to leave the line because the ride wasn't working but then like ten minutes later, the first ride started working again but we were already out of the line. 😢 I'm going on another trip in March to celebrate Disney100 and it's the first ride I'm going on. I usually go on Matterhorn first but I went on Rise of the Resistance first because I got Lightning Lane and it's so worth it. The wait was only 5 minutes.
This is possibly the roughest roller coaster I’ve ever been on. It’s fun and I go every time I go to Disneyland but dang am I sore after
I LOVE Disneyland this and splash mountain are my favorites
We have a Splash Mountain POV on the channel as well 🙂
I'm going to Disneyland soon I'm excited I haven't been in so long. I'm thinking on going on this ride
