- In Russia everyone knows the Russian fairy tale 'The Turnip' ("Репка"). But few people ever noticed one interesting fact about that story.
There are a few characters in 'The Turnip' / 'Giant Turnip':
- Old Man
- Old Woman
- Granddaughter
- Dog
- Cat
- Mouse
The story is about all of them pulling a ginormous vegetable out of the ground. The only managed wneh worked together, when the mouse joined them. The fun fact about this Russian fairy tale is that only one charachter there has a name. The dog's name is Zhuchka. But why the dog?

Really? I didn’t know about Zhuchka🙈
That's interesting. I don't know if there's a similar case with folklore(s) in Indonesia.
My knowledge about fairytales that have no Disney adaptation is very limited. But I had a book of old Norse tales and wow is that blood and gore! This is a nice simple story, no horror 😂 just a sprinkle of bad words
Some fairy tales would make a horror movie if adapted with no reasonable changes😄 Not bedtime stories for sure, unless you want the poor child to have a sleep disorder.
Please tell us who the heck gusi-lebedee are
