Thank you sm! Its interesting that you do both film and English. I was wondering how you find the split. I was considering English and History but student room kind of put me off. Many said that with a joint degree you study more subjects at surface level so don't really get to explore a topic deeper. Would you say that prefer the joint degree or wish you'd stuck to one?

hi! hopefully i can be helpful in your decision, i don’t think that doing a joint honours will mean you only explore subjects at a surface level, in my experience every module is very different. there isn’t a case where you have to do one module in order to do another one, each module is on one topic, e.g. victorian literature or children’s literature. there’s no way in three or four years you could learn everything about english or history, so if you want to do both you should. you’ll also find most universities will allow you to specialise in one after your first year. at the end of my first year i thought about changing to do pure film but decided to stay doing both. best of luck 🫶🏻
