@@BOTGRINDER I know you're working on the park in PA, but I have land in Northeast Texas that I'm gonna get with the FPV Freedom Coalition guys that Bardwell used to make his house a FRIA... personally own 11 acres and its attached to permission granted usable land for a total of almost 100 acres. Flat areas for race shut, hills, ponds, creeks, and trees for cinematic, trees on my land to be modified and adorned with obstacles and devices fir flying freedtyle fuckery. I know you're flight limits are roughly 3 hours befire anxiety fucks with you, and there are two somewhat close options. 3 hours to one airport and 2 from the other. Anyway, it's a plan on paper and thats it so far. My rural community is nonexistent, but I'll field if dreams that shit... "If you build it, they will come..." One day brother...

Also hot glue gets some shit talked about it, but there is literally nothing better if you want something to stick to something else really good while still being able to come off with minimal damage at a later date.
And quick. I use E6000 for some things but that like 10mins holding something annoying. Hot glue instant. Just bought gorilla hot glue to try
@@divingfalconfpv4602Beacon foam tack will hold instantly if used properly. It's kinda pricy, but i have yet to find anything to beat it

Fixed wings are amazing, i still love my quads but love flying my wings just as much. The best thing with wings and planes is they are way more efficient and have longer flight times, and are able to glide with no power required...😉

My first time i failed the launch and broke the nose off the plane, second time a tree come out of nowhere and caught my plane..phew.
I use the WINGS simulator, awesome sim.

Good job! Proud of you for succeeding at this. I fly an AtomRC Dolphin once in a while, and the pressure of landing/doing go arounds while battery is low is real. Definitely spend time practicing landing patterns/approaches. Don't aim for the gravestones! 😛
man i started on wings. dable in quads but mostly because they are easy to fly in small areas. flying fixed wing is the most fun imo. nothing more nerve racking then building high tech planes then possibly smashing them into the ground on launch. so much fun

Crazy when you realize that anyone anywhere anytime could suddenly die. That's actually a big PTSD component, meaning the knowledge of how many ways there are to die while going about a normal day. And not just how the individual could die or be hurt, but also the people the individual cares about. It will fuck with you for sure.

More wings!! A was flying drones back in 2015-16 and got bored and moved over ti wings and im still at it. So much more fun. The drones are more static. Wings feels different from model to model so it is never the same.

It is pretty fun. I like all flying stuff, but wings are definitely up there. I like having a rudder though, on my planes.
My LOS RC planes all have rudder and I thought I'd need one for flying FPV planes, but thought I'd give the Heewing T1 Ranger a go, and it flys really well without it. Don't let the lack of rudder put you off 👍
@@r1m.s877 I love my AtomRC Dolphin, but I still prefer having rudder or at least differential thrust for yaw control. You don't need it usually, but it's nice if you get to the edge of your video or control range and need to turn around quick. I use walksnail or 2.4ghz/1.3ghz analog signals, and I have pushed the limits of 2.4ghz analog and walksnail using stock antennas. Rth works, but I hate trusting my plane to fly blind for 10 seconds or more. I also use 915mhz ELRS system or FRSKY TDMX receiver, and depending on antenna orientation, I have definitely pushed the range of my transmitter with stock antennas.
As for typical close range stuff (and maybe my antennas have been the problem because my planes haven't made it too terribly far. Like 1/20 of my expected range) I like to spot land and scale fpv.
@botgrinder get your antennas positioned vertically and parallel to the transmitter if possible. It will help with range and latency. Also remember the plane will generally be moving faster than most freestyle quads do, so maybe look into a higher power vtx so you know you won't go blind.
