Shalorus was 39 0-1 went 0-3 fired
Healy was 0-0 went 0-5 fired
Horcher was 0-0 went 1-3 fired
Abel was 1-0 went 5-4 fired.
Al had 1 win in 3 years,won 1 fight after kabib and retired after losing 3 in a row.
MJ was 1-2 in the last 2 years and had already lost to diaz and dariush.
Instead of fighting dariush he picked mj who had 1 win between 2015-2018 going 1-6.

And Charles didn't fight a lot of bums himself because they were the only type of fighters he could beat for a long time?! Beat Tony who was past his prime, way past his prime to be more precise. You failed to mention that Khabib beat RDA who was on a good win streak before and became a world champion after that. That's a travesty, a real hypocrisy to praise Charles for beating an old and washed up Tony who lost his previous fight and all fights he had after that,but not Khabib for beating RDA who will become the UFC lightweight champion less than a year after that.

So after charles signed for the ufc,he fought prime jim miller for his 2nd ufc fight,prime cerrone for his 5th ufc fight and prime edgar for his 9th ufc fight.
Still 23 years old.
Kebab was fighting tomatos or journeyman until he was 30.
Btw Kebab flew out of the country to avoid fighting ferguson and i was praising Charles who cleaned out the top 5 in 16 months,i wasnt focused on tony.

I think he meant struggled to make weight. Because he didn't make weight a bunch of times but that was before he was champion. Once he became champ he never missed weight so yeah.
da mein english nich so gut ist und ich weiß das du es trotzdem verstehst, ist hier mal mein take auf deutsch dazu:
wenn man failed drug test ignoriert, dann ist khabib nicht in der goat konversation und jon jones ist klar die nummer 1 und wird es wahrscheinlich immer bleiben. aber wenn man sagt das failed drug test einem aus der goat liste disqualifiziert dann ist khabib mindestens in der top 4 meiner meinung nach (anderson silva wurde auch positiv getestet).
die restlichen 3 meiner meinung nach wären natürlich gsp, dj und aldo. khabibs ganze karriere sticht heraus da obwohl seine karriere mit schwachen gegner anfing, er dennoch bis zum schluss extrem dominant war und maximal 3 runden verloren hat und dies hat bis heute keiner toppen können. gsp und dj hatten viel mehr gelegenheiten gehabt ihren goat-status zu beweißen (beide sind basically champions in 2 gewichtsklassen gewesen und haben ihre titel extrem oft verteidigt) und haben mehr top tier gegner besiegt.
andererseits ist keiner der gegner die gsp, dj und aldo besiegt haben auf dem niveau von dustin poirier finde ich.
es ist schwer, aber ich denke nicht das khabib DER goat ist sondern einfach nur zu den goats gehört.

Well, to answer the question - we don't know. As he ended his career way too early. He for sure had his reasons, but that doesn't matter. And yes, it's true, he had less title defences. He got to the peak and then finished the career - where it generally starts getting interesting, because many fighters get titles but only less can keep them over a longer period of time. And those who are able to do that, are the greatest ones.... Khabib would have got the skills, mindset and potential to do it - but sadly he didn't try.
The difficulty of holding a title is much more than of getting it in a 'hungry' status. Also to face top opponents which appear over a longer period of time, as he 'just' defeated the best of his shorter time on peak. I personally feel sad that he finished his career too early, but it is as it is and I also can understand him as well...
I think he did it because of gsp. Khabib always said he looked up to gsp and at gsp's retirement speech gsp said it takes discipline and wisdom to retire on top and that's what a champion should do. I think khabib just wanted to pull a gsp. Plus without his father there I think khabib couldn't do it anymore.
History shows that when boxers and fighters lose their father figures they are never the same again.

About his striking though. He did become better in that department. Look at his fights with Conor and Justin as an example of his evolution. Yeah, he wasn't a great striker. But his greatest strength was his wrestling and grappling and he used that perfectly.
Do I think he is the Greatest... No, that would be JBJ, but Khabib is definitely one of the best to ever do it.
His striking is supplemented by threat of takedown. Like all wrestlers, put him in stand up only anyone in top 10 rn in LW wrecks him.

It is a simple debate that has been made over complicated for stupid reasons. In terms of overall MMA GOAT, he is not even close to any one. In terms of UFC LW GOAT, there is no one close to him because LW still doesn't have a guy to beat him.

Gsp received the earliest title shot in the history of the company at that time. If khabib would have gotten that treatment he would be at the least equal to gsp in title defenses. And look at who he fought on his way up, all contenders. Just sayin 🤷🏻♂️
He also cleared out his whole division twice though. Khabib retired after 3 title defenses. You cant even compare the two
