  • For all my fellow technicians working on 2018 or newer Chrysler vehicles you will need to register your scan tool in order to get through the security gateway module SGM. This is an easy process to do!
    Go to AutoAuth.com and create an account, pay the $50 yearly subscription fee and then register your tool you will be using.
    For any more questions please leave them in the comments.
    Find me on Facebook or Instagram at Cody's Auto Diagnostics & Programming.

    Cody guess it will not take long before every manufacturer has someway of blocking your ability to enter into the buss preventing the tech from doing everyday normal tasks. Guess it’s all about technology. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and videos. Artie 😊

    Thanks for the heads up. Keeping up with all the changes that are being made in this industry just shows how one domino effects the next 20 and pushes shops and techs to keep up. Thanks again and glad to see you're staying busy.

    I use 12+8 cable by connecting directly to the gatway module. Most of the time its easy to access.

      Those cables are nice. There is also another way without pulling the gateway out which is going to the star connector

    It is easy enough to run an SGM bypass into the CANBUS and you can talk to the vehicle without paying fees...

    Thankfully that made a way that was cheap and fair to us with Autoauth. I had my doubts about how they would handle it but $50 per year for 100 slots is far better than I expected

    Thanks for sharing! I have registered my 2 Autels with autoauth, I guess it works automatically in the back ground? I almost always use Witech but the 2 times I have plugged into a 18 or 19 with the 608 its seemed to just work :O)

    Oh man this pisses me off. I haven't had to deal with this yet but both of my tools are chinese. A launch x431 v5 pro and autel 908p. Man I hate having to buy extra crap for shit like this. What happened to the right to repair act?
    I'd also like to add, go to hell Chrysler... And take your shit wiring diagrams with you.

    You have witech2.0 what is the benefit of you doing this for your aftermarket scanner?

    • @codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706
      @codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706  Před 3 lety +1

      I don’t have a yearly script for witech2.0 so for me it saves me money from buying short term scripts.

    • @philh9238
      @philh9238 Před 3 lety

      @@codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706 I gotcha. You using a box with the witech software? Or the overpriced micropod? The j2534 works great. Just expensive to flash a module 3 damn fees

    • @codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706
      @codysautodiagnosticsprogra8706  Před 3 lety +1

      I ended up buying a micropod so I can flash wirelessly. It definitely hasn’t paid for itself yet lol
