I feel your pain! But dont lose hope. Nunca pierdas la esperanza!

Thanx bro..i was looking forward to this..i really appreciate it...Can i find information of the costs online??
going here in the spring for recording! so fucking psyched
I'm attending this fall!
How did it go
@Clawsofthetiger im pretty sure it, great understanding leads to great art
lol at the person who said it costs 100's of thousands of dollars to attend MI. You are paying about 49,000 for a 2 year degree from there. You not only get an education but these all important things called CONNECTIONS. If you want a career in music it's not only what you know but who you know as well. The networks you form at a school like this are invaluable on so many levels. I'm going out there to check it out in a couple months and if I like the vibe I get and the facilities I'll be trying to attend.
when i did the math in 2010 it was 237000 without sat scores and hs
can you go there to learn about guitar and vocals at the same time, and would it cost more?
So how does it work if you want to join the music industry program as far as attending the school? And do the people who want to become recording artist do they have to audition for the school?
Hi, I was wondering if we needed a demo tape, required to go to auditions, send in a portfolio etc. ?
@drummeryan337 Our website has most of the info you need. You can tell your parents about it, especially our programs that prepare students for prospective careers in the industry and our Musicians Referral Program. You and your parents can also call or email us (info at our site, and at the video info section of this page) :) All the best!
@Carlos89518 What program are you interested in joining? Please visit our website for more information, email admissions, or call any of our hotlines. We're also on Twitter and Facebook.

Im looking at going to this school for bass.
It's either this one or LA music academy I'm not sure which one to choose
Hi I have a question. Is there any way to get into MI from out of state?? I'm from Florida & don't have the kind of money to travel to Califonia.
@MMNyeD We actually have been to India this year, but only to pay a visit. Please head to our website. We have guideliness on how to apply, info about the programs we offer, as well as practical tips for international students.
When are the deadlines? Is it like a traditional school where you can only apply each semester?
@Racerdew do u know any information about financial aid or something or if it is expensive cuz i asked some counselors but they didnt give me any helpful information.....
I'm 17 and a junior in high school and I'm considering going in for either Music Business or pure guitar. Is it possible to be able to switch majors if I get accepted here?
ps. I've been playing guitar for almost 2 years and I'm decent at the guitar but I'm no "rock goddess." Could I attended this school and improve even more on my guitar skills?
It sucks at my high school because they don't teach guitar :( I learned myself and I've been playing guitar for about 4 years and I'm going to go here when I'm out of high school
Is there a deadline for the application?
Do you have to meet the A-G requirements?
Im from Sweden and im thinking of study in the states and MI seem pretty interesting
@musiciansinstitute I searched and couldn't find anything about grades. Where is it located?
Do you think you could tell me about how much it cost's to go there?
Does M.I's Bachelor program contain "Advanced perfroming experience, technique, and musicianship" like the A.A. program.
Ok then, il Listen. DO you have any musicschools to recomend then??
And what the prize may be?

@MetalHybrid Hey don't worry, you can always apply for financial aid with us. We have general information on that at our website. Whatever happens, please don't lose hope. Keep practicing and loving music, and you'll get where you want to be if you work hard at it!

Hi, I'm only a freshman in high school, but I have been drumming and taking lessons since I was five, so I've been drumming for ten years (check out my videos). It's my dream to come here to study drums and maybe even recording, but my parents are already against it. They say that making a career as a musician is a struggle and isn't practical. I understand what they're saying, but after learning about MI, I still think that coming here can help you make a career as a musician. Any advice?
Goddamnit I hope I qualify for Student Aid.. I need this school.
How old do you have to be to go to this school? Please reply :)

@tetoadriancradleoffi Hi, please visit our website. It contains the application requirements for MI, as well as more information on the specific programs we have available.
@musiciansinstitute well im interested being in audio engineering and guitar
@Clawsofthetiger
Paul Gilbert, John Fruciante, Frank Gambale, Synister Gates.
All of which are considered legends in their genre.
this school looks as it harness's rock musician most than all, can any one give me some more info, I'm thinking of going to college for music
yea i called them, basically they almost dont even look at it, they just have to look at academics and stuff, for SATs u need only a 1500, easy, and payment for classes depends on the instrument ur takin. guitar is roughly 20 grand, but as u stay there, the tuition decreases
I want to apply to this college.
i am so going here 4 college
I'm 14 and I've already decided to go here. I've been practicing for about two hours a day for the past six years, playing stuff like Avenged Sevenfold. I'm ready to go and I hope that anyone reading this in MI right now can reply and tell me their experience.
Hoping this aged well
No, i did some research and they have no dorms or any property of housing
@kyrinky well finacial aid is dependent on you personally, your taxes and all that shit determine your amount... i wrote an essay for a hardship scholarship and stuff like that to help lower the cost.. at the end of my last quarter, which will be coming up this march i will have paid a total of 40,000 thats including the grants and financial help i have recieved. hope that helps...
My experience with Musicians Institute was pretty much the exact opposite of most reviews from students/alumni. I struggled heavily when it came to my studies, and found that most teachers and students wanted nothing to do with you if you weren't already at a certain level on your instrument. The people there really know how to make someone feel stupid when someone is inexperienced or trying to learn something new. I felt very discouraged being there, and found it to be a very cliquish and cold environment. Impossible to make friends or any type of connections. I'm currently stuck in non-music related day job and have struggled to get gigs due to the lack of help and guidance I needed. It seems like administrators only want to hear positive stories about graduates who succeed after MI, and have no concern with those who are struggling. Forget about any type of career assistance or job placement; anyone who receives assistance is someone who can make the school look good and attract new students.
MI, please be honest, does the majority of musicians that graduated MI came out as a talented musicians?
I'm a little afraid about this college. Last time I looked for a college it was Full Sail. I looked up some reviews for it and people say it was TERRIBLE.
You should definitely come, but ask them to help you find a place to live first...you don't want to be homeless in Hollywood. But they will help you!
My son is starting there in 2015.
Check out the website.
PAUSE AT 4:18 !!!!
SYNYSTER GATES!!!!!!! FTW!!!! dude i cant wait to fucking move to CALI and go there!!!! GONNA BE AWESOME!
@Clawsofthetiger marty friedman ,synyster gates , paul gilbert...
@KillMasterGit: Musicians Institute does not have an age limit for application, but does require a High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
Tuition varies per program. A break-down of our tuition costs is available in our course catalog which you can find online on our website (mi.edu) by clicking "Programs," allowing the next page to load and then by clicking "Course Catalog [PDF]" on the programs page. Tuition is listed on page 16.

@drummeryan337 Dude I had the same stuggle with my parents. Ever since i could remember, I have always had a huge and genuine passion for music. I knew from the begenning that becoming a audio engineer/ producer is what I wanted to do. Bottom line! But my parents always shot my dream down saying that a career in the music industry isnt "recession proof" and that I would never make any money doing it. My point is, dont give up on your dreams because your parents dont approve. Do it for you!
I've sent message to admissions@mi.edu, asking about scholarship. But I haven't receive the reply yet. Please reply it....
@MatiBtodo14 Hey, keep practicing! When you're ready, apply for our school and do your best. ;)

@ThaKingOfSting It's not the number of years, but the amount of work you put into learning that counts. Go over our site and our videos here to get a feel of the school. Keep practicing and when you feel ready to apply, send us a demo with all the other requirements. Good luck!
