A part of me was thinking "How does Kevin not have enough money at this part of the game?" But then I fully remember that Kevin always gives CJ a bad case of the ponies whenever he plays San Andreas. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
I've learned through these videos that I should never ever go to Vegas with Kevin. (Not that I wouldn't want to.)
To be fair, if you just rush trough the mission in early Los Santos and don't mess around getting money, San Fierro is the biggest roadblock in this part of the game. You need money for everything. Most mission give you no guns and they are impossible without good guns, which cost money and there is even a mission series locked behind a money check where you have to buy Zero's shop. Last time replaying the game I had a ton of trouble getting enough money for everything and had to reload everytime I died because I couldn't afford to try mission with no guns.

@@suspecm6316 That's as far from the truth as it can be lol. You're always loaded when you reach SF, getting good guns is really easy (you don't really need to buy any after Badlands). And Zero's missions are optional, you can finish the story without them.

I'm so conflicted. I want to agree, but I know what "being treated right by Jim" looks like, and I don't think it necessarily means a positive work environment.
The reason Ryder's death was so weird and empty, was because people speculate that he was never supposed to be the villain. The voice actor asked for more money and was denied so he left during production. All of the dialogue was mostly recorded, so they just decided to kill him off. That's why during the scene where Cesar and CJ are spying on the ballas in the mission "The Green Sabre". You see Ryder and Big Smoke come out and CJ only acknowledges Big Smoke, that's because Ryder was thrown in. Thats also why Ryder was so quiet when you kill him, they used old voice recordings to make up dialogue during that mission. Real KeV3n on CZcams makes really great videos of the matter and explores it deeper if anyone is interested!
Rockstar has fked up many VAs in the past, like Ryder's VA, even CJ's VA, Vice City's Tommy's VA and GTA IV's Niko's VA to name a few.

It's true. Ryder was never planned to betray us. That's why all his lines in this part are taken from earlier in the game.
Regarding Zero missions, they're optional asset missions. The air raid I found impossible until a decade later and the tip is face the planes before you see them using the radar. The plane one the tip is don't hold the accelerator, instead glide and you conserve fuel, so maybe you were doing that or the definitive gave you more fuel or a combination of both.
I never had problems with any of the missions except the last as a kid then I grew up and it was kinda easy
It's both, significantly more fuel and gliding. Gliding to conserve fuel works on only some PS2 versions. If you have the original copy of GTA for PS2, you're just screwed because you get way too little fuel and gliding doesn't do shit. đ
@@xkristixx I think I have both PS2 versions but the one I did it on was the post-hot-coffee version the common version, where gliding works just fine I guess. And on the PS4 port.

To clear up why Ryder's death is so anti-climactic, and why neither CJ nor Ryder seem to care: He was not supposed to betray CJ, or at least not like this. I believe the reason for the change was issues with the voice actor, but regardless, there's a lot of ways you can tell: Every single one of CJs lines regarding Ryders betrayal are reused parts from elsewhere in the game (like "Ryder you shermhead asshole"), apart from the "And here's that snake Ryder" bit. Ryder himself only has 2 lines in the game after we learn of his betrayal: "I'm a motherfucking genius" and "Can't stop me!", both are reused lines. During the mission "The Green Sabre", CJ mentions Smoke, but never Ryder. Ryder was also seen shooting the Ballas both in the cutscene where CJ's mom dies, and in the drive-thru mission. Most/All of Ryders missions benefit the GSF in some way, while Big Smokes missions never really do.

I absolutely love how Kevin makes some ~1 hour long videos every few days recently! I can't really explain why exactly, but I enjoy them so much more than short ones (even though I also like the shorter ones ofc)! They just get me so invested and I constantly rewatch them. It's especially nice to have them running in the background while doing some work or as background noise for falling asleep!

You're actually right about Ryder's story feeling incomplete and abrupt; apparently there was some kind of falling out with MC Eiht (his voice actor), so the devs had to recycle some of his other/unused voicelines to stitch together his threadbare dialogue in the latter half of the game.
When you jumped on his boat and immediately he jumped off to his death, to go to such a great length to avoid a confrontation, I felt that

57:00, youâre right about the fuel, but it wasnât the Definitive Edition that changed it. During the Hot Coffee controversy they had to remove the code from the game, they fixed a few issues in the game, including the way the fuel works in Supply Lines. It used to be that regardless of hitting the throttle, the fuel would decrease, making it incredibly difficult. But they changed it so if you donât hit the throttle you donât lose fuel and you can glide through the air. The version you played and had the bad memories on was probably the original PS2 release v1 or 1.1. Supply Lines was fixed following the removal of the Hot Coffee codes in v2 and the Xbox release.

I remember watching my brother play a little bit of this game, and I was *so* impressed that you could swim, unlike in Vice City where you just died in ankle-deep water.

At 45 mins, my CJ on original PS2 looked exactly the same except no hearts on undies (just tidy whidies or whatever they're called, not boxers) and a huge gold/blonde god like afro including the exact same gold chain. Instead of eyepatch mine wore mirror aviators.
Same exact white socks with same sandals too yet sometimes barefoot. It was great fun roleplaying that CJ was always jacked on pcp or other bad stuff (which fortunately I know very little about irl except what we all know from movies, games, tv, etc) which he would do in the closet anytime stepping in since that's what they do in the movies. They go to the bathroom or some closet, back bedroom, etc.
In the rp aspect, that explained "his" behavior of a strict no clothes policy unless deceiving someone in game, just for as long as required, by wearing a suit that scarface would be jealous of. But with his heart beating a million miles an hr, yes, he preferred to go naked mostly. Imagine if the game had included European or bikini briefs for guys.. omg, no. That would have been over the top. Every cut scene like that and I'd end up in the hospital with ruptured organs from laughing so hard.

A few things you should know, Kevin, is that if you eat until you throw up, I'm pretty sure you don't get your hunger level down..
Also, you can just shoot Ryder in the water with a sniper rifle rather than jumping off and swimming after him.
And Torinos last flight is like the hardest mission in the game. If you follow them far enough they end up at a farm you can ambush
And I also use the "slow down time" cheat for the first zero mission, and you just don't use the gas for the second one, only when you need to climb
