جو میں سمجھا ھوں اس حکم سے، کہ خاندان کے ادارے میں خاوند قوامون ھے، جب اللہ نے اس ادارے کے فرد بیٹے کو مخاطب کیا تو حکم دیا کہ اف تک بھی نہ کہو،
اسی طرح اس ادارے میں بحثیت بیوی اگر کوئی عورت سرکشی کرے گی تو اسے سمجھایا جائے گا، اس سے بستر الگ کیا جائے گا اور پھر بھی نہ مانے تو اس کو سزا بھی دی جائے گی۔

The same word of Nushuz is used for husbands too in 4:128 but there is no physical discipline involved as per scholars. The word Nushuz can not maen "Sarkashi/Rebellion since you believe that husband is the sarbrah (leader) of the family. So how a leader can be rebellious against his subordinates.

He said that the husband is the head of the household because he is responsible to bring livelihood. If wife is earning livelihood for the house, does it mean she is then the head of the household and can personally punish the husband if he becomes rebellious?

In prenuptial agreement or mehr agreement it should be written that any kinf of physical emotional abuse won’t be accepted for any kind of dispute. Since many muslim countries are still living in patriarchal societies where ullemas are not very educated in the religion and their decisions are mostly based on cultural values. Plus these countries donot have family laws and courts and women do-not have easy access to courts. For example coutry like pakistam where 90 % of the population do not understand arabic they follow mostly hindu values for treatment of women , they have joint family system. Where as joint family system where there is so hard to follow mehram and non mehram concept since many times the brother in laws are atill iliving in same homes. Since population donot know quran meaning or prophets Muhammed pbuh life lso they blindly follow the imams. Look at the example when people started saying wrong stuff about hazrat ayesha when she was left behind by mistake in the desert . Did prophet Muhammad pbuh raised a hand on her?

Mr Ghamdi, I did not watch the whole video, around 24 minutes, but I am very disappointed. You cannot expect people to not be emotional about a very real topic that has affected women from around the world for centuries and still does. You are living in the west and essentially saying that a husband is allowed to beat his wife or "punish" her. As you yourself implied, times change. Women will no longer accept oppression and those who do must change. Rebellion against oppression is completely legitimate in Islam. How can only having a job make someone the "head"? Women do jobs too. If you read books like Invisible Women or even research studies (easy to find!), you will find that women's unpaid workload and care work is a trillion dollar industry. Just because a man is the main earner in some cultures does not mean he is doing more work than his wife. In fact, men generally get more leisure time than woman! A marriage is supposed to be a beautiful bond where two individuals respect, love and care for each other. Aside from this, there other interpretations and translations of the verses out there that do not translate the Arabic word 'daraba' as 'strike' or 'beat'. Furthermore, it is often the man who abuses this 'institution' of marriage and takes away the dignity of his wife through, not just one, but many forms of abuse. Please reconsider your position.
