What better way to conclude the year as to recapture one of its outstanding highlights by revisiting Finnish Symphonic Metal legends NIGHTWISH taking the likewise legendary Wacken Open Air by storm? After being decorated with triple platinum status in Finland as well as gold status in numerous European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Poland, among others) for their most current studio masterpiece »Imaginaerum« and following the highly successful release of their very own fantasy motion picture »Imaginaerum by Nightwish«, the band is closing in its cycle of the `Imaginaerum World Tour´ with a festival triple -- Wacken Open Air being the first of those final shows. The `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2013-2013 visited in 34 countries, consisted of 104 shows with total audience attendance of over 1,5 million fans.
And what would be a better way to celebrate the grand finale as to capture the entire show at Wacken Open Air -- the world's biggest heavy metal festival -- for a live DVD/Blu-ray? The live show in the front of 85 000 screaming metalheads was directed by Ville Lipiäinen, filmed with seventeen cameras and has a total duration of 85 minutes.
Mastermind and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen states:
"The time has come soon to wrap up the magical & memorable one-and-a-half year `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2012-2013! We still have three shows left, one of them being at the legendary Wacken Open Air Metal Festival on the 3rd of August. This show will be something extra special, since it will be released later this year on DVD/Blu-ray, together with a massive `Imaginaerum World Tour´ 2012-2013 documentary. Our darling flying Dutchwoman, Floor Jansen, has been nothing but incredible during her time in Nightwish on this tour, so this is a perfect opportunity to immortalize the current vibe of the band on film! "
The second disc consists of 120-minute tour documentary 'Please Learn The Setlist in 48 Hours', with no short of drama or overall madness. Also, there is a 16-minute NIGHTWISH Table Hockey Tournament, filmed on tour. On top of this there are two music clips: 'I want my tears back' (Live at Hartwall Arena) and 'Ghost Love Score' (Live in Buenos Aires).

Oh hell yeah!! Floor is the magical match to the incredible musicians of this group. She completes this band. I just worry about Jukka, and hate so much he will not be part of the upcoming album/tour. Wishing him better health!!
In all fairness Kai Hahto is a better drummer than him. What people will miss is Jukka's presence, not his skill (he's a great drummer too but Kai's the best).
Kimi Jokinen I wouldn't necessarily say "better". He can play more "metal" stuff, and very well, but Jukka is definitely one of the most solid drummers rhythmic wise I know, and that's 1,000 times more important than any flashy stuff. Not to say that Kai isn't a fucking awesome drummer to, though. As a Wintersun fan as well
I can't speak to Kai, but, if he's Jukka's friend, and requested of by Jukka...I'm certain he's pretty great. I will miss Jukka's presence, though. It just seems like such a perfect time for the group, and I hate for Jukka to miss that. Really, I just wish him well. As an insomniac of many years, at times up for 5 or 6 days without so much as a nap...I empathize. It takes a great toll on health.
Victoria Smith Kai has amazing fills and attention to detail. And yeah I've had problems with sleeping too, mostly due to tinnitus and back/neck pain.
It's nice to hear good things about Kai, and I will look forward to hearing him and his contribution to Nightwish. Feeling a little less anxious about it now. Thanks! Seems so many these days suffer with insomnia. I can absolutely relate to the back and neck pain. I am an RN...Have had 3 major back surgeries, all within about 2 years' span. Life changing, not in a positive sense, either. I've seen people through the years with tinnitus and vertigo, and it is miserable. I hope for you a way to find some comfort. Wishing you the very best.
Floor's voice is like Annette and Tarja's put together XD I do like her!
Like Tarja, but with a chest voice.
And like Anette, but with vocal depth and strong falsetto.
Floor is clearly combining the best of both worlds.

Absolutely there are similarities to both, you're right! Anette was much more nasal, which is quite normal for pop. Thin when she got up high though - Floor has a meatier sound up there. Not surprising - Anette's voice is naturally lower. Floor's not able to give the full, rich tones of Tarja in opera-mode, but she isn't Tarja. Floor's opera-mode is different, though fantastic in quality.

I love how people are complaining that Floor sounds bad about this. She's the closest chick i've ever heard to sounding like Tarja. Ever since I heard her in After Forever, I always thought it'd be cool if she was in Nightwish, and she happens to to in it now. Seriously, IMO she sounds like a cross between Tarja and Anette, so I definitely approve.
I'm not sure about Tarha & Annette, maybe more like Tarja & The singer from Heart which's way cool, possibly better
People have to remember Floor is having to sing songs that were structured around Tarja's voice too....so some are going to sound a bit off. This one is a little iffy, BUT theres plenty where honestly I prefer Floor's interpretation. I.e. Ghost love score, the live performance of that is incredible.

I'd preferred they don't choose Floor's first performance for this video, neither the first ones. She was not confident enough and of course she had to learn the lyrics in a really short time. Still I love her voice and I'm sure the next album with her will be the best!
Yeah, as she stepped up at the last minute she made a few mistakes as she is human and as you mentioned she was not confident enough to do anything exceptional. Rather than just overlooking it and enjoying the experience, most fans just tore into her and decided to hate her personally for "ruining" the songs.
It wasn't even that was she was bad, I though it sounded great despite the mistakes. And after getting some practice in she went from good to unbelievable as we both know
Sure! In the end, it's just a song and, as you said, by now she's definitely improved it. Personally, as long as she continue singing Ghost Love Score the way she does, I'll have no problem with little mistakes like these ones :D

Floor adds a whole new dimension to this song. Not weighing in on the whole stupid Tarja vs Annette vs Floor debate, just saying it's different. Sure hope I get to see them perform this one some day.
This is literally the first song Floor singed with Nightwish, ever. I don't think this is video material, specially considering the song is Planet Hell, very difficult to perform. The guys at Nuclear Blast are not doing justice to Floor by putting this out, try the same song but six months later. It'll blow your fucking mind.
The folks @ Nuclear Blast haven't been doing a LOT of bands any good since around the mid-late 90's. I really hope they don't go the route of someone like Metal Blade records. There was a time that MB was a real driving force in the world of metal, but they ended up ripping off a lot of bands & got crappier & crappier acts to sign on, passing that off as Metal. Everyone, at least from the time I myself jumped on the 'metal wagon' ( around the mid 1980's) knows Metal Blade is a joke & a bad one at that. Nuclear Blast is starting to do the same though as far as what acts it signs on, which is kind of a bad sign for anyone considerring getting them as a 'label', Same idea for Earache too these days

+SiMonkey1994 Floor will never get as amazing as Tarja was but I think she's way better than Anette... Of course their voices are different but if you first hear a song sung by Anette and then the same song sung by Floor you'll notice that her voice is much stronger
I guess that Tarja would never have been able to sing something from Imagenearum (it sounds good with Anette) because it's not her style. They all have their one style

The only difference is Floor so far superior than Tarja. Tarja is, at best, average at classical style singing. Floor is far above average at it. Plus can sing a more melodic style, which Tarja doesn't do.
Everyone who joins the band brings their own style, I have liked nightwish for years, each singer, be it tarja, anetta or floor have all brought their own style to the band which has been good. I did however feel that with anetta there was something missing but floor has brought that back. Please stop trying to compare floor and anetta to tarja, all have different styles and brought their own uniqueness to Nightwish. p.s. get well soon Jukka m8. One last comment, I looked through some of the profiles of the "haters" and their posts elsewhere and that's all they do no-matter where they comment, don't get pulled into their trap, that's what they want.

Tony Montana I hope you're right, because it seems Floor's putting all of her time into Nightwish. Now, that in itself wouldn't be such a bad thing IF that band would do more aggressive sounding songs, but they really haven't for a long period of time. They seem to lack the same energy as REVAMP or AFTER FOREVER for that matter.

Tony Montana And, Floor may be 'right' for NW, but I think the proverbial jury's still out on whether they are 'right' for her. Toumas seems to want way too many ballad style songs, not like those aren't bad, but like at least 8 or more on 1 release? Kind of gets stale, you know? This's why I think Floor needs to either go back to Revamp where they got aggressive on Wild Card & only maybe 1 ballad style song, or convince NW to go back to a much heavier sound like when they 1st came to be

Let Tuomas faster writes new music because singing Flor makes ears bleed when she sings a song that sang Tarja or Annette. As well as bleeding ears when Annette sang songs Tarja. Each singer has its own music. IMHO. Sorry for my english.
