A walking date is not a bad thing. It can be better than a dinner where you don't know what to talk about. You can always talk about the things you see as you walk and even silence is less awkward. Plus you don't need to worry on who pays...

I`d love to see a video poking fun at the volume at which most Americans speak/broadcast. In a pub or other public places they easily drown out any other conversation.

Germans do the same in Prague..(though I am sure they don't do it on purpose).
German here: This is actually true. Pretty much all my first dates have been a walk. It's more casual and feels less forced than sitting at a restaurant. Moving can help getting a conversation going and new things you could talk about pop around as you are waking around. If the date goes well, you can still go to a café afterwards.

It's mandatory to have a walk of at least 3.6 kilometers on a German date. Ideally with a chance of cheetas.
It's quite common to go on walks but first you need to find someone to date and I recommend you to do the first step because if you don't, it will take you forever to wait for someone to ask you out 😂 Germans are not that extroverted normally.

@@Jasmin-yf6nt at least I did that☺️ I really don't care about stereotypical gender roles and when I saw my boyfriend the first time I started the conversation and in the end asked for his number☺️ I told him that I find him friendly and good looking and would like to get to know him better and if I could have his number. We're together for 5 years now😊

My German-Syrian girlfriend and I spent our first date walking a distance of approximately 20 km. We walked through our vast city forest, then back through the city so that I could drop her off at her apartment, talking to each other the whole time. She had chosen a fancy outfit with shoes not being suitable for walking long distance. She did not utter a single complaint, but was totally exhausted when she arrived at home and had to sleep for three hours.
Almost exactly three years later, we got married.

Why is everyone complaining about German weather? I've not been there, but I lived in England surely it can't be worse than that.
As a German guy I hate dinner dates for first dates. It's too expensive, the bill situation is annoying and the setting sucks for being with a stranger. It's so awkward when you discover in the first 10 seconds that there's no chemistry and you didn't even order yet. I usually go on a walk, meet up in the park, go to a museum or zoo or aquarium or whatever. Sometimes I go for a quick coffee for the first date (obviously split bill). If the chemistry is fine I might invite her for dinner for the second date where we can talk more. It works really well for me.
so far german girls i have managed to meet are kind and lovely, first day in germany i was waiting for a bus in Cologne and three of them walked up to me and we started tlking randomly, they know english very well and german accent when talking in english is funny too (in a positive way) Bavaria is a great place with pretty landscapes, I love going for a walk and seeing hills and mountains covered in trees in the distance, truly amazing experience

Dass ich mich darüber freue, einen richtig verwendeten Konsekutivsatz zu entdecken, zeugt leider davon, dass es zu viele schlampige Deutsche gibt, und so ist es wahrscheinlich auch bei der Bewegung, dass es Deutschen in Bezug darauf immer mehr an Disziplin mangelt, wie auch Menschen in anderen Ländern, zu einem großen Teil auch als Folge der Digitalisierung, deren Gefangene jeden Tag neue Menschen werden, wenn auch manchen der Ausbruch gelingt. Man entschuldigt meine unordentlich lange Satzstruktur, dies ergab sich aus meiner Prägung durch die Übersetzung übermäßig langer lateinischer Sätze im Kindesalter.

Spaziergang bestes Date. I always do that on a first date. Weeds out the couch potatoes, hehe. You also don't have to make eye contact the entire time as you would in a restaurant and if you feel uncomfortable, you can just excuse yourself and leave.

That is considered a LONG time to Americans. I walk 25 minutes to my gym and the same amount to my bus stop for work (the bus ride is only 15 minutes). My friends and coworkers pity me when I say I walk that far, even though the walks are the best part of my day

Right? That's what I've been thinking. I'm a slacker with my butt glued to my computer chair and I take casual 4-5km walks without breaking a sweat, on high heels. If this is so tiring for a more or less young person, a visit to a doctor might be a good idea.

True Story: I was sent to germany for work. I work for the US army and didn't have all my security clearances entered into their system yet. But they still let me in to do my job because I had my paperwork. But I'm still required to get offficially entered into their computer system. this takes a few days. SO I'm going thru the gate for the first couple days and there is this strong woman, kinda built strong yanno. Kind of intimidating as she's over 6 foot and muscular with a german accent.
On the 4 th day she tells me: "You get you into system or I put you in handcuffs and take you home"......
So, what happened 👀

I did something similar once. Girl came over and I didn't want her to be too scared so I joked about going to the playground. Then I thought about it and realized it would be prefect for her age so we went there. Was great. I just know what 22 year olds need. While on the swings I explained to her the final solution to the human condition. She took it surprisingly well.
