I really love your videos, the way you present them is great.
Thank you for the review, very informative. Got the Asus pg32ucdm few weeks ago, almost perfect as monitors go for me. Quite expensive but now I have the picture quality I have been waiting for oh so many years. And quality will only get better and more affordable as years go by. It's so good to be a PC enthusiast in 2024.
Until color degradation or burn-in kicks in ;)
@@laggmonstret It doesnt happen if you know what you are doing. I have been using 4k oled since CX\C1, and sold them brand new condition when I got the aw3225qf.
I am so interested in your tests of monitors. Thank you for posting this excellent review of the Alienware product. I think the quality of your presentation is outstanding and so, too, is the videography. I often wish I could have a tour of your testing facility and the chance to meet you and your team. I will watch for your discussion of competing monitors such as the MSI product. Since I am a software developer -- on Tier 1 systems, you see, where text is quite common -- I often wonder if a really high end monitor would make a difference to my performance. I'm on the older side and usually watching monitor displays of some kind for 8 to 10 hours per day, sometimes quite a lot longer. Thank you for a very welcome product review and evaluation.
watching this from my AW3225QF...yup, one heck of a monitor for sure. This one's staying in my setup for yeeeeaars
Same! :)
Does it has PbP (Picture by Pciture)?
@@jayros Yes.
Ditto
Will it look significantly better than my IPS Samsung G7 4k? Ive heard a lot of issues with it, some that are mentioned here. Seems like you really have to mess with the monitor settings to get everything right
I've had mine for about a month now, It's lovely!
The internal power brick is underrated. Pretty much all the other models have a giant brick to cable manage. It doesn’t have KVM or 90s USB-C but it has good enough usb for phone charging and all the essential connections. The curve is also not really for immersion like an ultra wide it’s for warping reflections from the immediate field of view which is a disadvantage of glossy panels. It looks pretty much flat in use.
Thank you for this test that I was impatiently waiting for !
I bought this monitor 1 month ago, I am generally happy with it, except for the gsync support which is unusable because of the flickering it causes.
I have to disable Gsync and enable vertical sync in games to no longer have this problem.
Despite the latest update, there are also some problems with HDR under Windows.
It's an excellentmonitor , but it still has some flaws.
Dell still needs to fix some issues to make it truly great.
Been waiting to hear what you think of this one.
The monitor I was waiting for. 👌🏻
Hello, and thanks for another great and detailed review. My next monitor will most likely be 32inchs for MS FS2020 use. For flight sims this just may be ideal. Thanks again for your efforts.
Hope I helped!
Thanks for this friendly review. 🙂
I got my AW3225QF three days ago and I love it. The slight curve, the glossy QD-OLED Panel and the eARC feature, wich works perfect with my ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41.
The availability and price make it a no brainer over the 32" ASUS and MSI OLEDs. It's a shame to charge these insane prices in Europe.
The only concern is the burn-in topic. We will see if this is an issue.
Burn-in shouldn't be an issue if you don't let the same images stay on the same areas of the screen for long durations (like several hours a day and every day). I've had my Alienware OLED monitor for a year and a half now and I use it extensively but I haven't got any burn-in yet (none that I can see at least). On the other hand my headphones' wireless receiver which has an OLED screen has very noticeable burn-in because it's almost always displaying the same image on the same area.
@@EarthIsFlat456 well, I do 2-3 days per week home office with static content on it.
My headphone amp has an OLED screen too. Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro.
Thank you Tech Mama for the Alienware AW3225QF monitor review 💯🙏
Awesome vid love it waiting for u to review 32 inch oled dual mode lg monitor
*Use HDR PEAK 1000 BECAUSE it turns off the ABL*
I've owed this for about 60 days. It's been the best 60 days of gaming of my life. OLED hype is worth it. I have a 7800x3d & a 4080 & I LOVE gaming on this beast. ZERO issues. Also, I don't think mine has a fan because I've NEVER heard it. I turn down the brightness because this monitor is bright. Also, the curve is VERY subtle!👍
You can test the two fan rpm levels via OSD self test feature. But the fan only turns on at a certain temperature (roughly around 40°C exhaust air temp, but it will keep running below that).
@Weissrolf I was really just making a joke about how quite it is😊
I have the exact same CPU & GPU can u share your exp. about gaming in 4k? Im very close in ordering this monitor and im curious about your experience with this.
What games are you playing and what fps? I have a 4080, just want to know if it can hit 240fps or close consistenly.
Sound on the video seems bit treble heavy but it could be my end. Thanks for the review. Once >= 38 inch oled ultrawides come out i will buy
Got this and a 4090 on the way I can’t wait
Looking forward to a review of the LG UltraGear 32GS95UE-B that is a competitor of this Alienware monitor.
I upgraded from aw23 and this thing is amazing
Are there any larger versions of this monitor coming out later?
Excellent work as always. Please also try to review the Asus once it's available to you.. 🙏
I will be!
@@TechTestersIt’s absolutely amazing! It has two sRGB modes targeting a flat 2.2 gamma and an sRGB gamma with exceptional accuracy.
Looks very nice and tidy
Looks nice. Alienware always has a cool looking monitor
Great video ❤
Is this a good monitor for playing Apex? Or are there better options?
I was on the fence for this and the ASUS. And given the ASUS is $300 more and never available, I went with the Dell. :)
Had mine since they first came out and love it. The only complaint I have is the panel defaults to 120Hz when you I turn it on. To get 240Hz, I have to turn it off then on again. This seems silly to me. The OSD should have a setting available that allows you to set it to 240Hz all the time. But, I haven't found one. Anyway, I still love this monitor despite this one gripe.
I am using one of these right now. My Favourite mode is Custom Colour HDR with saturation turned to 65 (except for green on 50), and contrast 100. Full screen brightness, 1 and 10% window brightness differ between HDR modes. I think the HDR 1000 is great for highlights but does lacks the 'perceived' full screen brightness of the other HDR modes, especially when gaming, and is objectively dimmer in the 10% window. Custom Colour HDR is the best HDR 10 mode because of the ability to increase colour saturation.

Hello i got a query..i am building my first pc and i chose i7 14th gen processor so should i buy asus z790 strix H motherboard? Is it compatible????
Thank you!
hey, thanks for the video! do you think you'll try the LG 38WR85QC-W? i'm looking for a work / gaming monitor but i'm not really comfortable getting an OLED and i saw you were using an LG ultrawide a few years ago for a similar use case to mine.
No plans for testing that monitor, but I guess it's the successor of my own old 38" LG panel wise. I'm on a 49" OLED currently and the gaming upgrade over IPS is really big, I don't think I can go back to those mid-ish contrast LG IPS panels. But for editing though, I'm still undecided, 1440p vertical isn't that great. For now I'm going to use a 32" 4K OLED for a while to see if that can convince me, but currently I'm just wishing there was a 38" 1600p OLED option.
@@TechTesters thanks for replying, i feel like it's kinda an awkward time to buy a monitor that isn't 100% for gaming. i can only get one monitor and there're all these really great gaming options but i know the anxiety of me potentially ruining an OLED monitor while using it for work will completely destroy my experience of using it :/
Really itching to get one to replace my "old" AW3420DW ^^
If you turn off Display Scaling and turn on GPU scaling 1440p resolution actually doesn’t look bad. Also, I mostly use the True Black 400 mode, plenty bright enough for me as I work during the day and game at night. If you have windows you will have to black them out as the glossy display shows hella reflection. Anything is better than a disgusting matte coating
Unless I'm mistaken I did not see/hear if the panel is still the original QD-OLED or the new version of the panel the QD-OLED2 which is now on the new high end tv model from samsung.
Also you did not mention that Dell have a very good policy for burn in which is the premium panel exchange, where they replace the panel if it burns in in the 3 years waranty
I'm pretty sure I mentioned the warranty ;)
Great monitor
Would this monitor work well with my Radeon 7900XTX?
I need help
Can you suggest me single sided 4tb gn4 nvme.
I tried searching on internet but some brand dont show th detail
I'll take Hdmi earc/arc over internal speakers. Will make it possible to use a dolby atmos soundbar with PC and console
Whats the purpose of it if you can not buy it anywhere 3 months after the release.
More OLED reviews please!
I received this monitor about 2 weeks ago, replacing my m32u, it is amazing
Worth every penny?
@@sethviewsdefinitely
@@sethviews To be more precise, I think it depends on what you come from.
If you have an IPS monitor, yes.
If you already own a 4K miniled or a 1440p Oled, maybe less
great review! I am looking for a flat 4K 27" (non OLED) 240hz Monitor for the next 90 class GPU that will be released. if you know any current or incoming monitor like that let me know
Why do you want non OLED? Just wondering
@@marthoTT peace in mind it will last more than the 3 years warranty for burn in.
@@giovannigio6217 that makes sense. If you’re just using the monitor for fast paced FPS games, where it isn’t going to be on the same still screen for long at all, will screen burn in be an issue? I’m looking at monitors to get, but I’m unsure on what to go for
I've got this one for around 15 days: I'm glad I didn't wait (MSI / ASUS / Gigabyte models, besides the fact they are much more expensive, they are not available)
But, after 2 weeks use, I wish the monitor was bigger (eg: 38") - why ? because, I need to use 125% scale in Windows to be useable... and with a 38 inch monitor, I could use 100%)
And finally, I received it with the firmware M2B102, already updated twice (M2B104, then M2B105); and HDR in Windows 11 is a bit cumbersome (I have to disable/enable each time I wake it up, and I have to use tools like HDRFix when playing games like Ghost of Tsushima; and if I disable Dolby Vision, this monitor is barely useable using Windows desktop + HDR enabled (because brightness is dropped; not the case with Dolby Vision enabled)
Will there be a 27 oled 4k monitor this year?
After using it for a week I can concurr that this monitor is a beast so far. It is beautiful and I have had no issues with glare or anything else. The only con I can think of so far is that it is a bit tricky to clean without leaving scratches. So be careful to use only water and a clean cloth. Otherwise i love it and would definitely recommend it.
Is really Glossy or semi?
@@rixiorx It is advertised as glossy.
I'm gonna sum up the last few comments: I said when I could get a GLOSSY 4k QD-OLED 240Hz panel I'd bite. I've had mine for a few days, and I have absolutely zero regrets upgrading from a Xenon Flex 45".
As a game dev, It’s amusing to note that while this comes with a 3-year warranty, I’ve switched monitors at least six times in three years. I’ve used a variety of monitors, including a 144Hz TN panel with 1920p resolution, a curved VA panel, a 1920p IPS panel, a 2k 144Hz IPS panel, a 60Hz 4k IPS panel, and a 144Hz 4k IPS panel. Now, I have this current one. However, I find it unlikely that anyone would retain a screen for three more years without encountering this specific issue. It just doesn’t seem plausible.
You need to calibrate your OS to see the HDR show up properly. Use windows HDR calibration app and set the black level in that to 0. Then you won't see any weird over-exposed darks.
Watching this review from my AW3225QF hihi
Nice, happy with it?
@@TechTesters yes, everything looks really great on this monitor. Unfortunately, i'm sensitive to the vrr flickering so i had to turn off gsync completely but luckily there isn't too much tearing if you can keep the framerate within the refresh rate of the monitor, so not a big deal for me. An interesting point is that to me, it seem that monitor was flickering only in games that support frame gen (nvidia) like horizon forbidden west and cyberpunk. I've tried Assassin's Creed Valhalla and it works fine with gsync enabled. Maybe it's something related to HAGS in windows, cause i've noticed that turning it off seems to completely removed vrr flickering
@@giulioparisa8794 flickering on a $1,200 monitor , no thanks lmfao 😂😂
@@spacecy that’s the way it is with oled…
@@giulioparisa8794unfortunately that's a big problem.
I really want to move to OLED, if only they can do something about the burn in issue as I use my system for mostly work
Are you implying that your screen stays static while you work....😂

Please test Teamgroup Z540 SSD
As things stand, I believe this monitor is my baby, largely due to its curved design. You also showed _Microsoft Flight Simulator_ running on it, and I think this monitor, with its 4K OLED panel and its curved form factor, is the perfect monitor for the games I'll be playing. _MSFS_ is one of them.
So to get high fps of 240 to match and at ultra pic settings I have to put somehow 2 x4090's in my system? I have a 27" LG Oled and 4090 and at games like FarCry 5 I can't get close to matching the 240htz with my fps.
Wait for RTX 5090. LOL/
@@nossy232323 i have already put a 2nd mortgage on my house so I can get one 🙂
Great review, as always. I have a 48" C2 (LG), and I have to say that I LOVE it and I doubt that I could ever go back to a smaller screen. I'm actually thinking of going 65" G4 to use as my daily monitor. But pairing it with an RTX 4090 may be a bit of a waste as these TV's only go upto 120hz. The Samsung goes upto 144hz, but Samsung just doesn't have the build quality as LG (this TV has fallen off my desk TWICE ---- a good 30+ inches of height ---- , and not a "noticeable" scratch on it. That made me a true believer in LG build quality). Could the same be said of Alienware?

@@apolinocaballo1145 nice, idk if this happens to you, but I always look to find something better, that’s why I was looking this 32inch, I know have better ppi but, the inmersión part from biggest screen is just amazing.
This is the best QD-OLED 4k 240hz when you factor in reliable and easy to work with customer support. It’s got the same panel as all the other QD-OLEDs this year. The ASUS gets the most praise but that’s assuming nothing goes wrong.
I definitely need a replacement. though i'm more for larger screens 43+ non ultra wide (currently Samsung G9 ultrawide.. and most games dont' work well with it (menu's go offscreen etc etc). Though OLED is intresting, the fact that spending so much money and having a "limited" life (burnin) puts me off.
Does this new model have some kind of OLED burn-in warranty?
3 years with burn-in like before. At least for my region but I assume it's the same elsewhere.
everything is perfect except for OLEDs being prone to burn in, such a deal breaker.
Can anyone recommend a good one that is flat (Not curved) and maybe a bit cheaper?
Depending on your region, probably not. The Asus, MSI & Gigabyte options are all flat, but they're also all more expensive than the Alienware here in the UK ☹️
it should have usb-c video input at $1200. but the firmware and dolby vision issues are the real reason to avoid it.
If you told me my first thought watching a monitor review would be “dope earrings” I’d call you a liar - but here we are.
Really cool, now bring it back in Romania, cuz it's out of stock since feb😫
I highly advice against this monitor at this point in time. Not for performance reasons but it has a critical flaw on how it's packed, leading to (partially not so subtile) scratches.
This isn't affecting only a small number of units but a general flaw of the packaging process. Only the degree at which individual units are affected differs.
At that price point I wouldn't buy it until Dell has changed this.
In the meantime Dell has fixed this issue. Mine came four days ago with perfect panel.
@@andreaswoehler26They changed the packaging but it still comes scratched. Simply check Google you will find reports including pictures as late as May.
Love me a curved screen.
How about flicker on this model ?
I talk about flicker in the video too :)
@@TechTesters So...this model have flicker ore not? Some users complain about flicker on dark areas at faster framerate change.👍

MSI and Asus, it's not available in any store....
I think my option will be the TV LG C4 series.
Also live in the Netherlands, bought mine via the Dell site, took maybe 4 days to ship.
I can’t believe people are completely ok with the dim look of these OLEDs. Some games are stunning and some look terrible. I want a panel that just always looks great. Where are they!?!?
they are not dim at all. QDOLEDs this year are very bright, you are thinking of first year LG stuff
After having used ultra-wide display (21:9) I just can't go back to non-ultra-wide anymore, no matter how great the display is. A 4K display allows you to see stuff with greater clarity but ultra-wide allows you to see stuff that's otherwise invisible. Shame there hasn't been a 4K ultra-wide OLED display as I would buy it in a heartbeat.

biggest issue with oleds is, they make amazing media devices, like TVs. They do not make the best monitors, especially for productivity where your software has file structure that is static most of the time, as well as a windows task bar. Nobody wants to baby a monitor and spend that kind of money with the potential for burn in. I'd rather just settle for a Mini-led monitor and get close to the picture experience without the downside.
