I'd argue that Sam using the magnets makes sense and wouldn't take away from Steve’s special connection and skill he has with the shield and being able to instantly calculate the angles, trajectory, etc everytime he throws it. It would take a lot of sense as to why Sam would need the magnets cuz he’s not as perfect with it as Steve

This is a really valid point, imo. A lot of people forget that Captain America would have to do a lot of calculations in his head to perfect his shield throws. It’s a combination of lots of practice as well as mathematical prowess.

He hadn’t invented it yet… he only had the solid Nanotech shield. He made the holographic shield because, say it with me, Tony learns from his mistakes.
Steve’s also superhuman so it makes sense he’d be able to calculate the angles
Physical superhuman abilities dont make quick/at all math knowledge. Steve has a high IQ i guess

My theory is that when the Civil War started he won’t use them because it was created by Tony to show that now he resign to Iron Man and plus Iron Man would make it off

I don’t know why Cap would lose? He would just be forced to use the shield normally, which he’s already more experienced with anyways. Plus he was still able to stop Tony even without them

I like to imagine he would use the magnets on bigger missions where the time saved picking up and such is the difference makes a big difference, but on smaller stuff it doesn't matter much and he can just use what he prefers

Well, I do think they should bring it back. I think that writing just forgot about it and not really Cap (Steve) just thinks it’s unbalance.
I think Sam having the shield magnets would make a lot of sense for one very big reason: Imagine doing air based combat and having to throw that shield around, only for it to bounce from the enemy and start plummeting. Some way to have that thing always come flying back like Mjolnir would be a good precaution to take if you're flyin around.
I think they should bring back the magnets for Sam Wilson since he is a more tech savvy, modern Captain America while Steve Rogers is more old fashioned.
Yes, imagine sam's flying around he throws his sheild, and it missed and now it's falling in the air. If he didn't have the magnets, then he has to stop fighting, and haul ass to get the shield.
But if he has the magnets, then he can call it back at a whim

I see it as him falling out with Tony
Steve has enchanced reflexes, perception, and strength thanks to the serum which is why hes so consistently able to make it bounce back to him, it makes sense for Sam to use magnets to help him catch it

Honestly i think sam should get the magnets, it'd probably make it easier for him to recall the shield when he's flying around I bet
It makes sense for him to have it as when he flys and throws it, he can call it back easily
Maybe because many times he found himself using the shield without his costume, that way would be unusable
I think civil war is why Cap stopped using them, like he argued with Tony in the beginning and that made him stop using Tony's tech.

it would be cool if sam wilson started out with the magnets but as he got more skilled he would finally remove them as a advancement in his overall character, since he stepped up to replace the old captain america
Steve was a super soldier, so it’s easier for him to throw far and catch fast
sam could learn how to use it more effectively like steve so he doesnt have to rely on tech
He needs it a bit more because hes in the air and becaise I can definitely see him being able to do cool shit shit if he can pull it back whenever he wants, like imagine he throws it, misses, but its a fake out and he pulls it back and hits the guy in the back of the head
They should bring it back because Sam flies and if he for example is fight someone on the ground and he is in the sky he can throw the shield and easily get it back
My issue with Sam not having it, is because he can fly
Every time he throws it in the air, i think about how he may miss and loses it for a while

Also Steve has super soldier serum in his veins which gave him extra strength, reflexes, agility, stamina, and it’s harder for him to get drunk- what I’m trying to get at is Sam doesn’t have super soldier serum… he can still hold his own, he just has to be more creative on takedowns that’s all. 😁🤷🏽♂️
I would imagine it's because the russo brothers with winter solider just had him be very accurate with the shield never needing them so with civil war they still thought he didn't need them

The real reason was, certain fans thought it was lame, and thought it didn’t make sense. And because they had so much hate mail about it, they writers or producers or concept art ppl or w.e took away that concept in the next movie.

Falcon with magnetic sheild makes sense than Steve. Think about it, steve doesnt need it for obvious reasons AND steve is only in the ground. Sam flies. It's really hard for Sam to calculate where the sheild will be esp when fighting and FLYING. The magnetic shield makes sense for Sam.

Idk many because there was a genocidal murder robot A.I that had access to all of Stark Tech and its weapons in that movie,not to mention that during Caps time there was probably some science fiction novels or form of Robot Panic which would add to his fear of Robots.
Although him dropping the magnets because it throws off his rhythm or he just prefers the old fashion ways totally makes sense and I definitely would like to see Sam use it as your right he would be more tech base and the Tech in the Mcu has a gong a long way since Age of Ultra, although if Sam doesn't bring it back I can see the explanation total binging that he wants to keep as Much as Steve with him as he can.
