I've heard the "it's too easy" complaint before, but playing with just 1 or 2 people is like playing on easy mode. If you want a challenge, play with four people and preferably have the other people be in the 5-8 age range.
been there done that lmao, but the best experiencie by far its by playing with at least 2 people that know how to play, and speedrun the F out of all the levels lmao
The best is when your trying to sabotage each other so pick each other up and throw them into danger and try avoid the bubble it’s super chaotic but fun
Mario bros Wii was also my first video game so for me the “new” part didn’t really make much sense when I first played it but I didn’t really think about it
Top notch level design, near perfect difficulty curve, fantastic new selection of power-ups, unique enemy rings for each world, new purpose for the star coins, introduction of the hidden wall technique, introduction of 4-player multiplayer, re-introduction of Yoshi, great exploitation of ice physics, tons of new & interesting enemies, the best boss fights in the series thus far, implementation of motion controls, decently solid soundtrack, and a rather impressive graphical transition from the previous entry all make NSMBWii a rock solid game!
...All that, along wit terrible controls, especially with the spin jump. Hats to control it with the Wii-mote facing sideways. Why couldn't have they allowed us to plug in a traditional controller? I tried, but the game wouldn't let me play it with the Classic controller.
@@JJ_TheGreat The Wii remote works perfectly fine as a 2D & 3D controller, unlike the GameCube controller, which sucks at 2D gaming. The Wiimote is modeled after the NES controller with more buttons and an addable nunchuk, on top of wavebird functionality. It is the superior controller. The motion controls work perfectly fine. Get good and stop complaining.
Honestly if it wasn't for the next two NSMB games I feel this one would be evaluated on more fair grounds. It does a lot right but is hardly given recognition for it.
@@Trianull The series largely ran out of steam after NSMBWii. The quality of later games was okay, but they failed to innovate enough to stay relevant. As far as I'm concerned, NSMB2 & NSMBU greatly rested upon the laurels of the previous 2 games. NSMBWii did most of the work. NSMBU tends to get most of the credit, like it's a masterpiece or something. It's not. It failed to elevate the series to new heights in the same way NSMBWii did. NewerSMBWii is the true spiritual successor. It put in the effort and went above and beyond to earn the title of "masterpiece". Greatest Mario game I've ever played.
I will NEVER forget the moment my friends and I were playing this game and we beat the fake bowser and thought it was over, and when big bowser got revealed, it blew out minds.
The one thing I liked about this game compared to the later ones is how the items have their own stacks. I keep feeling like a hoarder when I can only hold a few items total.
My sisters and I love playing this game, we come back to it all the time and we've 100%ed the whole thing a couple of times at this point. Great video, can't wait to see what you've got coming next!
I still love this game! I remember the joy I would get when I would get the penguin power-up as a kid, it was so cool. Felt game-breaking when I wasn't slipping on ice or just slicing through blocks. this video was lit thank you
Great video and the random hits at the game, such as the four multiplayer being a nightmare, made it even more entertaining and comedic to some degree!!
The scripting in this video was super refreshing. You kept that off the hook non formal rant energy while also having it super neat and to the point. You didn't even need to start the video with reading the wiki of Nintendo. You put the super in super refreshing
The problem with the Mario Bros U is that by the time it was made, we've already had the big Bowser fight not once, but TWICE before it. By then it just felt like a repetitive gimmick and didn't hit as hard as the Wii one. The Wii one will have a really hard time getting topped, as it's the greatest-feeling Bowser fight I've ever had
Genuinely one of my fave games of all time and hands down the best in the NSMB series! I grew up with 8 siblings & a Wii so the only play time I got on this game (I’m 2nd youngest) was sacrificing my self for them to complete levels, get secrets, etc. I was basically the equivalent of Yoshi; used to beat the game & discarded when needed but ecstatic to be there. My oldest sister bought Galaxy (soon after Twilight Princess) & I was the BEST damn player 2. I collected them star-bits like it was my job & picked up strats by watching her play. I wish I could’ve played more growing up but I’m happy to have had those moments since all we ever got after that was just dance EVERY YEAR😂😂
Me and my family played this all the time, and it was always a fun time (other than the trolling like throwing each other into pits or ground pounding each other etc etc)
Amazing video! The only thing I would say could be different, is that since there's not really anything else to look at, other than gameplay footage, to show what you're talking about, I'd say to try to get more higher resolution clips (Talking about Dolphin Emulator.) Other than that, the gameplay clips blend in well with the points you talk about. Keep it up, and I'll be looking forward to your next video :)
really good video! deserves more views for sure. i just played this game myself this week after having not played it for yearsss. was a surprisingly good experience. maybe we could collab in the future?
finally someone understands me. I love this game soo much and it was my childhood game and still play it to this day! It never gets boring and it soo fun to speedrun.
I played this game with my cousins when I first arrived in the US. I've loved the Penguin suit and always thought it was the superior version of ice flower.
wii sports was the first thing i played though it has a higher place in my heart but I remember playing this with my family like all the time I seriously loved this game
4:30 One thing I really like about this fight is that (assuming you're fully powered-up) you're literally fighting on equal terms. You both take 3 hits to fully beat, it's neat.
maybe make a video on nsmb ds? it got the blue shell, minigames and vs that you can play with friends on the go, mega mush to destroy parts of level, and a secret for beating one of the bosses with a minimush
This is probably just us but when we were doing recording our series on it, it was incredibly difficult but the difficulty made it fun, the game took us something like 12 hours to 100% and those hours were some of the most fun we've ever had recording games
I remember when I used to play NSMB Wii I kept trying to get a red yoshi out of a question block for about an hour before it hit me that Red yoshi didn't exist in the game and just wasted an entire hour of my life being an idiot and kept getting the same 4 yoshi colors over and over.
Me and my friends exploited the bubble ability as soon as one of us were going to die. It would’ve worked if only everyone hadn’t used the ability at the same god damn time
I lived for this game as a kid. Probably one of my greatest gaming memories ever. Looking back, I do still think this game is truly the best 2D Mario platformer of more recent decades, although the graphics do look a little drab. That's a general complaint I have for the Wii era, though; colours look pretty muted.
