For you newer guys notice he works from the bottom up. Thats so you don't get runs and streaks in the finish.

One coat may look presentable but a second coat after the first cures out seals the wood much better and the product will last twice as long. Plus the wood is super smooth and looks so much better. Always plan on two coats on any paint job including stain or other solvent based materials.

I just hired a guy to stain my fence and he said he would back brush, and he didnt. In one evening (he arrived at 5pm) he unevenly sprayed 4 coats of solid color stain on my fence. It looks thick, you can hardly see the texture of the wood, and I argued with him about what he was doing. When a woman confronts people working on her home, it doesnt go well, and they agree and nod their head, and continue doing whatever the hell they want to do. I am so sick of half @$$ work, but I have physical limitations and can do them myself. No one cares to do it right anymore!!!

Have you ever painted a tin roof ? Just curious on what your steps would be, I've done it and found it a bit tough due to the possibility of crushing the seams.

Chris, if the house is already stained with a solid stain and the customer wants the same colors, is it best to use solid stain again or can I use paint? Which is better? Im not used to spraying solid stains so I'm a little uncomfortable with using them as opposed to paint.

Why dont you go up the sliding glass window with the masker and pull it across rather than leave some on the bottom cause its only 6ft plastic i understand with 99 you can do the whole window, just a tip .

Also, what is an idea time to stain in the Summer? It's pretty warm here in Oregon in the upper 90s or should I wait till the cooler Fall months?

Is there a reason you're spraying from the bottom up? I'm about to spray a log house that peaks at about 22 feet and I assumed I'd start at the top and work down so I'd cover any mistakes or spills on the way down. Is one method better and if so, why?
