I use the stain brushes that screw onto a paint pole, makes it like rolling a wall. Long easy smooth strokes.
Man that's skill, very on point with explaining everything too. 💯
I watch all your videos I really like this one the shed looks great I love those subtle accents
Great job Chris!
Looks great..thanks for the tips
Beautiful!
Ben wanting to see a shed job thank you there’s lots of detail you gotta give an attention
Lots of good tips! Thanks! It might have been cool to see a close up of a before and after of a back roll. Even as a weekend warrior I know that spraying irregular groves of a shed is easier and better than hand rolling the whole thing. I've tried rolling wood panels and it took way longer than if I would have sprayed. The grooves take extra effort. Not sure what the critical commenters are yapping about.
DIY mom. Love all the videos! Love the Scripture more !!
Thank you!
Thanks Chris, I always learn something from your videos. Do you use different filter sizes when spraying stain?
Those are the fun jobs, I would have stayed up in the mountains , nice to get away from the crew for a while
Haha! Using a customers rake is classic! Whenever I paint a bright color I try to use the paper that is used to protect the floors for the ground. Keeps the drop cloths cleaner cuz that overspray suuuuucks on dropcloths
If he had brought the cardboard shields he probably would have laid them out at the bottom. The old ones work great.
Hi!! Looks like a great job!! I live in Canada and I would like to know many coats I'll need in this area?
i see the green hose you are using, it look very flexible, where can i get one like that or similar?
Do you have a link or brand name for the respirator? 🔥
If I am spraying paint on a shed....how many coats? With sprayer tip output, sprayer manipulation, and overlapping, does a sprayer put out the equivalent of two coats?
Good day Chris, how do you feel back rolling with a small roller, what's your view or opinion on that??
Hey Chris,
Videos are very informative! I plan on using a solid stain on my cedar siding that’s been previously stained with a semi-transparent about 8 years ago. Would you recommend back brushing???
yes
How did you paint the roof, with machine or brush roller
This is out at Codys new place isnt it? Just seen the video of the cabinet's and the office. Looks great man. I love the black ceiling with the can lights. ~God Bless
No, I wish it was
Love the video brother as always! Super helpful tips and knowledge brother! All the haters sound like they got personal issues 😂
Appreciate it!
I had to reside one section of my house with t1-11 that is new. The new material looks clean, with the exception of some sawdust. Is it necessary to power wash the entire thing before stain?
No
👍🙏🇷🇺Great job! I wonder why do you use differs color masking tape in the same place? You did not mention tape in links. Great improvisation making card board guard - creative engineering! Love your camera drone work. You are genius in everything! Nature in Idaho is so beautiful! Thanks! 🙏
One tape sticks better than the other..the blue tape is more delicate for masking surfaces so it doesn't damage them..orange tape sticks better for things like making a shield
J Smith , thank you so much for the explanation. I now use different colors tapes too getting my house ready for painting. But I go so slow, everything takes lots of time. I do it myself. I enjoy it. Thank you for your time to answer.
A rag and some WD-40 works great for removing overspray or drips.
You should use a brush on a stick a regular soft broom short bristle if you know what I mean I think it would save your arm and time just an idea 💡 keep up the hard work 😓 🎨🖌️
good.
What would you typically charge for something like this?
500 plus materials
400 total
5 material included
This is completely dependant on the area. Not all prices are created equal either. Good luck finding $500 in Los Angeles. Some small rural nowhere mid west Town someone might only charge $150 plus material. But some will spray a crap coat for $500 and others may charge $700 to go through and spend the extra attention to detail.
Wouldnt a 5 gal be cheaper than 4 sigles? They usually are
Singles are the same price as the gallon price in 5 gallon bucket for contractors at Sherwin Williams
@@shawnroberts1952 not here
When buying 5 gallons sherwin williams will match the price for singles. Talk to your rep.
👍🏻
It’s water based product or oil?
It is a water-based urethane
Bro, we got like 10 cardboard shields for a house, they got wet...had to use soggy shields. It was a hilarious disaster
Probably needed more shields, or have someone record it and put it on youtube.
Who masks a door hinge instead of taking the door off? Much easier, and usually faster, to remove hardware than to tape it. And it looks more crisp
Great bible verse by the way
Solid color stain is gunna flake and peel off especially latex semi transparent will not .
Nope
Water based is junk ..your right ,oil stain doesn't Peel
$$$...break down here...bid 1hr...shop.1hr...drive 1hr...paint 5hr(plug in your rate @75.00...material...250.00...........how close?
Why not just use your deck boss brush and a long arm (instead of constantly bending up and down) ??
You are a far superior painter than I will ever be...but if you would like a little tip on how to easily cover awkward shaped things like hinges...melt some paraffin wax and using an artist's paint brush, carefully paint the hinge or other smallish object with the melted paraffin wax. It will harden up as soon as it touches cool metal (which pretty much rules out Arizona, California...etc. during the hotter months) and stays where you put it, and then once you've finished painting, the wax and any paint covering the wax will come right off.
