Exactly right. Fisher has not done a very good job at all. Even though A&M won yesterday against Mississippi State using the 3rd string QB who in my opinion is better than Johnson. Henderson is mobile and can use his legs while Johnson is not. Bench Johnson and play Henderson rest of the way.. But this goes to show you that Fisher was either playing favoritism or he just can not see where or who should be playing .

Why did A&M even give him that extension so soon? I mean he was only 4 years into a 10 year contract and hadn’t really done anything until that point. They had a good year in 2020, went 9-1 and won the orange bowl but that’s it. Next season they went 8-4 and gave him a 10 year extension…😮

Jimbo wins either way, A&M loses either way, and it's their fault. Jimbo has been given ample time and is badly underperforming. However, they shouldn't have given him a blank check.
Jimbo talks in circles and is a salesman who deflected accountability for a faultering FSU program and A&M took the bait, hook, line, and sinker. Proved to be a costly mistake.
TAMU I am an Ole Miss alum, so I don't care. But if you don't get Jamey Chadwell you are INSANE. He's had two teams at D1 level and both went undefeated in regular season despite almost zero resources and recruits.
I think the Aggies go with Oc for rest of the year. At 6-4 they are bowl eligible so they get to practice up till the bowl game. I wonder if Aggies will go after Dan Lanning, he would bring toughness Aggies need

If A&M is smart they would try there damndest to snatch up Kyle Whittingham, he’s the best coach in college football right now. Utah barely scratches the top 30 in Recruting every year and yet consistently post 10+ win seasons. Utah has no where near the resources and recruiting depth that Texas does so to think what Whitingham could at a place like A&M should definitely be worth pursuing.

This was bound to happen. As a FSU fan, I can say for a fact. Jimbo is a great recruiter and an average coach at best. He sucks at developing players and making adjustments in games.

For the record, LSU had to do a total restart after the 2019-2020 season. When near 90% of your entire starting roster is drafted the choices become limited. No one wants wait and make down and dirty tough decisions to do the rebuild so at a 100 million dollar total package deal for BK it made Coach "O" the single biggest buy-out in college ball at 17 million. Think about it.
Now only to be back to mediocrity at about 70-75% in the consistent W column? Same-same as before now, with Les Miles. And Burreaux was a 2-star just off injured reserve and was benched his last two years at Ohio S.
I still like Sumlin better than Jimbo.
However (2 here). Lane would be a good steal from Ole Miss. I mean he can't coach so he needs 4-5 star teams to coach and Ole Miss is a much smaller school anyway.
Second, I said last year that Hugh Freeze should have held out, stayed at Liberty and be patient for the high speed openings coming. Auburn Alumni runs that team not the coach. He should have waited. Before this year is out the portal for coaches will be almost as great as 2nd-3rd year players. The hundreds of millions are about to pop fireworks.

@@r-a-ray Texas A&M is a public institution that takes in close to $1.0 billion each year from state and local taxes. The head coaches contract is an obligation of the University funded by taxpayer funds. Boosters may pony up to help out, but it is paid by taxpayer funds. I remember when I was in grade school and didn't know anything either.

I agree with the sentiment that this doesn't have to be a rebuild. We just need to get someone to take over the things that Jimbo has done well and do the things he didn't do well. We have some incredible players that are seriously dedicated to A&M, amazing facilities, great game day atmosphere, and of course, NIL money. We need someone to take all these things, and inject a winning culture. Maybe that's Mike Elko, maybe coach Prime (please God no), maybe someone we haven't even thought of. Time will tell. For the moment, I commend our stupid administration for finally doing something right and getting rid of this guy.

He is going to retire, whether he wants to, or not, at least for a little while. If he wants to keep that buyout money, he can't be a head coach anywhere else, until the contract is up. Anyone who wants to hire him before that, is on the hook for his aTm contract. This is how Saint Nick's School for Wayward Boys works; he gets these guys for almost nothing, because they still have that HC salary from the last gig. But that only works if they are in a non-field coaching role.
