It's not the D model of the hind it's the A model
This game takes place in 1964. Mil-Mi 24 Hind first flight happened in late 69's...Great game. anyway.
yes but there were prototypes and this is top secret russian stuff so its not complete false that there could have been a hind at that time
Glomo But it is completely false. The history of the Hind is well documented, and these are definitely not the prototypes (which do have very noticeable differences) The justification made in this game is that Volgin used the Philosophers legacy to develop them early.

Did you hack Snake to spawn in Grozny Grad from the top of the mountain where you meet Eva?
It seems like that's what he did, as I don't think he'd be able to access the memory and data allocated to the Hind D otherwise. I'm surprised that he's able to stand anywhere beyond the mountain ridge, though. Usually, far-away, inaccessible vistas have absolutely no collisions whatsoever. Then again, I suppose it's possible that it was there for either the cutscene before you got back control of Snake or just a leftover when creating the area during development.
