    I've had one for about 6 or 7 years now it seems like I cannot do without one. I believe this is what's keeping me off of medication for my arthritis pain. And plantar frasciitis. In the aches and pains that an older person gets. I think it would be great if insurance was to pay for a hot tub if you did not take pain medication just a happy thought

    Hi Eric. I bought thie Saluspa spa from Costco, then watched all your videos to get it going. You made a great contribution here. There’s only one area I can’t seem to get working and that’s the Wi-Fi. Watching the Bestway videos has not been helpful.

    I must say I was pretty disappointed that it DIDN'T automatically come with a chemical starter kit (or directions & suggestions) so I could have had the products needed to finish the set up last night. Thanks for letting me know what I'm supposed to buy. Someone told me you're NOT supposed to buy the same chemicals for an inflatable spa as you do a real stainless steel, cement, fiberglass or PVC hot tubs. 🤔

We had 2 tablets set to the lowest release in the dispenser and used a chlorine free shock starter. We’ve added water twice and let it sit for a week to balance out. Tested again today and the bromine is still too high, so I just took out the dispenser and will retest tonight. Any thoughts on what the proper dispenser setup is to avoid this happening? Or if the initial chlorine free shock powder was too much?

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric
      @ProblemSolvedwithEric  Před 2 lety +2

I do have a question - we set ours up a few days ago and used it probably 3-4 times without any chemicals. We already are noticing some haziness and odor, which is how I came to your video. Do you think adding the chemicals now will take care of it, or do you think we need to drain and refill? I hope not because it feels so wasteful, but I also don't want to soak in dirty water...

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric
      @ProblemSolvedwithEric  Před 2 lety +2

      What I recommend is adding some spa shock and refresh your brominating tablets. Then turn on your jets for about 10 to 15 minutes. After that, wait a couple of hours and test your water. Make sure your pH levels are good. If they aren't, adjust accordingly. Wait another hour and test. If the pH levels are good the water should be clear and the odor should be gone. If you still notice some fog or there is still an odor then you may have to empty and refill.

Could have been 2 boxes. Probably a Google search will give an accurate ratio of how much for a small spa. Its amazing how clear it will make the water if its cloudy.

    Thank you so much for all your tips and walk through. I’m curious if you’ve ever looked into using hot tub mineral sanitizer? Usually a floating thing that has a copper element and small chlorine that dissipates over time. My son has excema so trying to find something not too harsh and the mineral sanitizer method reduces chlorine chemicals by a lot. Thanks

      These look like good alternatives if you're sensitive to brominating tablets. Seems like they definitely less harsh on the skin. I'd still recommend a good rinse just after being in the hot tub though

      Where would you buy a mineral sanitizer? How would you use it? Does it go in the dispenser?

    Thank you so much for this video, this is great. I set my timer from six hours from now to run for four hours. But the spa is still showing it’s on and heating even though it’s already at its desired temperature. Any suggestions on what I should do? Technically it should shut off immediately and start running in six hours right?

      Yeah, I made a mistake in the video. So just reverse the times. First time set is for how long you want it to run and the second time set is for when you want it to start. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if this works for you

    Thanks for the video, I got the same spa from Costco I being used for two weeks it’s a great material the jests works pretty good the only doubt is the temperature doesn’t last long after 20 minutes inside 104 drops to 93 , I live in San Francisco is not too cold here to drop the temperature that fast . I’m going to try to use my camping water gas heater to pump the water from the spa to the water heater back to the spa I think it’s going to keep the water 104 I hope 🤞

      That's strange. I see temp drops when I use it but not that drastic. Last night it was 42° outside here and I was in the spa for an hour. It started at 102° and after an hour had dropped to 98°. That being said, I see similar temp drops with built in spas when the outside temp is that cold.
      There are a couple other things you can try. since the jets in this spa are air jets they do blow cold air into the spa water if it is cold outside. If you can insulate the pump it might help this a little bit.
      I'll experiment with a few things here as well to see if there's a better way to mitigate the temp drop. Although, your solution seems like a good one. I'd be very interested to know how it goes. Thanks for the comment and good luck with the spa

      So I've been doing quite a bit of research and found these spa mats. These things slow the temp drop down quite a bit. Just put one under ours. Last night we were in the spa for an hour and half and only lost 2 degrees of heat

      I didn't use the one specifically for the spa, rather I just used some half inch puzzle mats I had already. I think any separation from the floor you can get will help with the temp drop. Hope this helps!

      Yeah, I think it would be fine. When full the tub weights about 1500lbs. You can set it up directly on the cement or if you want better temperature regulation, you can put one of these down first

    Thanks for the great info. Did you say the filtration of the spa can be operated independently of the heater? I am trying to find a spa with filtration, but I want to keep the water temperature close to the air temperature. Any thoughts? Also, what is the lowest temperature setting? Thanks.

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric
      @ProblemSolvedwithEric  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you're able to turn on the filtration independent of the heater. So, if you wanted to, you'd be able to filter the water while it stayed at the ambient temperature of the outside.
      The lowest temp setting you can manually put in is 68° F. If the water is below 50° F it will auto heat to 50°.
      Hope this helps

    Thanks for all these informative videos . Do you keep your Saluspa on 24/7 or at the very least keep the filter going for 24/7 and time only the heat? I started timing my heat and filter to turn on rather than running 24/7 and the water got pretty murky …any advice ? Thank u

    • @ProblemSolvedwithEric
      @ProblemSolvedwithEric  Před 2 lety

      I generally have my filter on 24/7. Sometimes I turn it off overnight but it's never been off for more than 2 days in a row. The water hasn't gotten murky on me though. I'd be interested in the chemical comp of the water when this happened though.
